Patent number: 4627414Abstract: A stand for supporting a non-stick cooking liquid spray dispenser at a predetermined height above a heated cooking surface, such as a griddle, is disclosed. The stand, fabricated of an insulating material such as a high temperature plastic, is a generally tubular structure including a base section, an upper section for receiving and retaining the dispenser and a smaller diameter intermediate section joining the base and upper sections. The intermediate section defines a chamber in communication with the upper section for retaining sufficient air heated by the high temperature griddle to maintain the desired temperature level of the cooking liquid. Baffling disposed between the chamber and the base section deflects hot air rising from the griddle and provides radiative surfaces so that the temperature of the cooking liquid does not exceed a temperature range that is optimum for applying the liquid to the cooking surface by spraying.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 1984Date of Patent: December 9, 1986Inventor: Neal H. Patent number: 4607613Abstract: The invention is a unitary solid interface adapter for placement at the bottom of a wok. The adapter is made from a thermally conductive material and has an exterior shape substantially in the nature of a frustum of a cone. The upper surface of the adapter is concave in the shape of a sector of a sphere such that a traditional wok will nest therein with approximately equal contact over the entire interface therebetween. The bottom surface of the adapter is substantially flat for maintaining a solid stable perch on either electrical stove elements or gas range lattice support structures. The bottom of the adapter may be provided with anti-slip protrusions which prevent the adapter from sliding on the top of the range element. The side of the adapter is angled outward in a conical fashion such that the heat generated by a smaller area of element at the bottom surface of the adapter may be delivered to a greater area of the wok surface for maximum usable cooking area.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 1984Date of Patent: August 26, 1986Inventor: George Toldi

Patent number: 4305559Abstract: The present invention is a round-bottom flask support which comprises a base of honeycomb or honeycomb-like material flat on its lower surface and having a concave upper surface substantially complementary to the flask it is designed to support. The cross section of the base is preferably cylindrical and a cylindrical annular ring engaging the periphery of the base and upper surface can be provided for added dimension stability. The upper surface of the base preferably has a semi-spherical configuration produced by compression of the upper surface of the base toward the lower surface to create "pleats" in at least some cell walls. This provides an added mechanical lock at the cell nodes which reduces the tendency of the honeycomb to separate at the cell nodes and is of particular advantage where the honeycomb is subjected to high temperatures and the adhesive bond may be weakened.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 1979Date of Patent: December 15, 1981Assignee: Hexcel CorporationInventor: Wendell T. Patent number: 4018553Abstract: A flame-type gas burner, having a burner head adapted to be attached to a source of supply of a fuel gas (specifically hydrogen) and one or more jet burner orifices in the head, has each jet orifice closely covered by sufficient steel wool, preferably stainless steel wool, from a mass of such wool contiguous to the burner head to significantly reduce formation of nitrogen oxides during combustion. Openings are provided in the assembly for flow of atmospheric combustion air through the mass of steel wool during burning of the gas. The gas burner itself may be any one of the many varieties of flame-type burners that are in common use for cooking, space heating and other utility purposes. A novel method of burning fuel gas is involved.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 1975Date of Patent: April 19, 1977Assignee: Mountain Fuel Supply CompanyInventors: Nathaniel R. Baker, Frank E. Lynch

Patent number: 4011992Abstract: The invention comprises a device for spraying a viscous non-stick, liquid cooking preparation onto a grill heated to a predetermined temperature, and includes a stand resting on the heated grill, such that heat from the grill, by both conduction and radiation, warms the spraying device to a temperature level at which the viscosity of the preparation is reduced to a level at which it can be effectively sprayed.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 1975Date of Patent: March 15, 1977Assignee: Par-Way Mfg. Co.Inventor: Russell D. Olsen

Patent number: 4006676Abstract: The crepe pan is such that it is adapted to distribute the batter over the flat exposed bottom surface of the bottom of the pan; a base locates and supports the pan in position and is so dimensioned as to surround the flame and distribute the heat evenly over the flat bottom of the pan; the weight distribution of the pan and its handle being such that the pan will be firmly seated around a suitable flange on a shoulder adjacent the flange of the substantially cylindrical base.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 1975Date of Patent: February 8, 1977Assignee: Atlas Metal Spinning CompanyInventor: Robert J. Patent number: 3941117Abstract: The invention disclosed is an improvement in a gas-fired range having a burner means supported in a well in the range structure below its top surface. An annular plate of a glass-ceramic including integral, plural, peripheral downturned legs is supported by the stove well in an overlying, spaced relation to the burner means. The glass-ceramic is formed of a crystallized glass having thermal coefficient of expansion in the range of -12 to +12 .times. 10.sup..sup.-7 /C.degree. over a temperature 0.degree.-300.degree.C. In its preferred form, the plate is made of a glass-ceramic having a thermal coefficient in the -5 to +5 .times. 10.sup..sup.-7 /C.degree. range over 0.degree.-300.degree.C.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 1974Date of Patent: March 2, 1976Assignee: Owens-Illinois, Inc.Inventors: Yu K.
