  • Patent number: 8479721
Abstract: In one aspect the invention discloses an improved gas burner with a high turn-down ratio. The improved burner includes first and second gas flow passages, a flame front locator in one of the passages of the burner cap. Fuel gas is injected into an end of one of the passages and is ignited to establish a flame at the flame front locator. Secondary combustion air is provided through the other of the passages which on a high setting enables secondary combustion and on a low setting may mix with the hot gases and cool them resulting in a lower temperature at the cooking vessel.

  • Patent number: 7836877
Abstract: An indoor or outdoor downdraft ventilator moves via an electronic controller through preferably a touch keypad. This provides precise control and an efficient way of removal of gases/fumes off a cook top. The electronically controlled telescoping downdraft creates a nearly infinite and selectable range of heights above a cook top from which to properly collect and draw in, filter, re-circulate, or expel exhaust. The downdraft incorporates a lighting system to illuminate the work surface and sensors to detect temperature, filter change requirements, speed, stop points, power, resistance, voltage, and program med operations.

  • Patent number: 7708006
Abstract: A flame heat regulating apparatus for a cooktop of a gas stove, having an inner hollow shell and an outer wall which are both placed onto the stove cooktop. The shell further positioned to surround a gas burner is arcuate in shape, having a smaller sized bottom side and a larger sized top side. A plurality of air passages are through the shell, wherein the air passages are more densely distributed onto a lower part of the shell, as compared with the air passages which are less densely distributed onto an upper part of the shell. The outer wall further positioned to surround the shell has a plurality of air passages which are evenly distributed therethrough. In addition, a plurality of extensions projecting upwardly are spaced on a top side of the wall to support a cookware. The apparatus increases heating efficiency of the flame, and prevents undesirable heating of a handle of the cookware in cooking.

  • Patent number: 7472698
Abstract: An energy saving reflector assembly for cook-top heating units. The reflector assembly features a device which concentrates heat on the bottom of a cooking vessel being heated and prevents heat from escaping laterally from under the vessel being heated. The device provides significant decreases in both cooking time and energy consumption. Embodiments for electric and gas cook-tops are described.

  • Patent number: 5850779
Abstract: A structure is adapted to rest on a top surface of an oven, surrounding a burner of the oven. The structure is adapted to support a pan such that the pan is tilted and positioned above the burner. The structure further comprises a barrier depending outwardly from the structure for keeping the pan from sliding off of the structure.

  • Patent number: 5315983
Abstract: A two-piece support ring structure for supporting a wok cooking vessel on top of a burner cylinder of a cooking range. The structure features two components: a top ring of a substantially circular shape upon which sits a wok; and a base ring having a substantially circular shape that removably rests on the burner cylinder. The top ring removably rests on the base ring. The base ring itself comprises a first ring and a first mating means disposed on top of the first ring for removably coupling the base ring to the top ring. The top ring comprises a second ring upon which sits the wok, and a second mating means projecting from the bottom of the second ring for removably coupling the top ring to the first mating means. The base ring further comprises a third mating means for removably coupling the base ring to the burner cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4869228
Abstract: The present invention provides an expansion sleeve for a gas barbecue of the type comprising a grill supporting base and a cover removably supportable thereon, the cover having lower edges seatably engaging upper edges of the base when supported thereon and in closed position. The sleeve has vertical walls defining a cross-sectional horizontal shape which conforms to the shape of these edges of the base and cover of the barbecue. The walls have spaced parallel upper and lower edges, the lower edges being provided with means to releasably seat the sleeve on the upper edges of the base and the upper edges arranged to seatably receive the cover. The sleeve, when in position on the base of the barbecue with the barbecue cover is seatably received on the upper edges of the sleeve provides an expanded cooking chamber for the barbecue.
