Abstract: A fuel-fired combustor includes a housing with a combustion chamber. The housing has an inlet and an outlet. A fuel inlet to the housing supplies fuel to the combustion chamber. An igniter ignites a mixture of exhaust gas and fuel to produce a flame for increasing an internal temperature. At least one sensor measures or monitors at least one combustor characteristic and generates a corresponding combustor characteristic signal. A controller receives the combustor characteristic signal, compares the combustor characteristic signal to a predetermined combustor criteria and generates an output signal to change at least one combustor operating condition if the combustor characteristic signal varies from the predetermined combustor criteria.

Abstract: The present invention is a heater box for use in combination with a heating unit in an improved portable soldering furnace which includes a casing having a base and a hood which covers the base. The base has a first compartment wherein a soldering iron, having a shaft, a handle and a soldering head, and a second compartment. The heating unit includes a cylindrical bottle, which holds a flammable gas under pressure, a valve, which is mechanically and fluidly coupled to the cylindrical bottle, and a burner tube, which is mechanically and fluidly coupled to the valve. The heating unit is disposed in the second compartment of the base. The heater box includes a heating chamber having a back wall, a bottom wall and a pair of side walls and being open at both its front and its top and it is disposed in the second compartment of the base and mechanically coupled to the heating unit. The heater box also includes an insulating apparatus for insulating the heating unit from the heating chamber.
Abstract: A light weight, portable, and self-contained soldering iron heating device in which one or more propane gas containers or equivalent provide fuel to two burners through a manifold which has independent burner fuel controls. The burners are located in a fire box which supports a cradle in which two soldering irons may be placed. The fire box is fitted with a hinged hood, provides for rapid and economical heating, and confines the flame so as to be safe for use in areas selected for soldering, with the hinged hood providing easy access to the burners for servicing. The fuel supply and fire box are positioned side-by-side on a horizontal base and are separated by an integral, vertical, combined sheet metal, heat shield and tubular handle. This configuration eliminates the need for any insulation, results in a low center of gravity allowing use on inclines up to for example thirty degrees, and permits single hand carriage.
Abstract: A tool assembly is provided for maintaining and repairing the runner surfaces and edges of skis. The basic unit of the assembly is a hand held tool to which blades may be attached for planing or scraping the running surface and longitudinal center groove of the ski. The basic unit also has provisions for mounting a flat file to file and sharpen the metal edges of the skis. A waxing attachment for applying a uniform wax coating to the ski is also provided along with a polishing unit. The assembly further includes a base and heater with a wax reservoir.
