Abstract: This deer lure with scent dispenser has an outer casing with an interior plenum, a lower end and an upper end, with air inlet holes adjacent the lower end, a base adapted to fit into the lower end and extend into the plenum, and a scent dispenser assembly with a reservoir adapted to fit into the upper end with its exterior extending into the plenum. The base is adapted to serve as a pedestal for a candle and to hold the candle above the air inlet holes. The base also allows air for the candle to enter the plenum from the air inlet holes and reach a flame of the candle. The reservoir has an interior in communication with air exterior to the casing for holding a volatile scented liquid, and the invention allows hot gases produced by the candle to escape from the plenum into air exterior to the plenum around and/or through the reservoir, volatilizing the scented liquid in the reservoir.
Abstract: A heater provides both radiant heat and light. The heater provides radiant heat via a heater assembly which includes a gas burner heating a screen; the screen in turn provides radiant heat. The heater includes a light assembly which may provide light by, for example, burning gas fuel, or by other means such as electricity. The heater may include a heat reflector which can be removed and compacted or disassembled for storage. The light assembly may include easily removable glass panels surrounding the light source. Each glass panel is mounted to the lighting assembly by tabs extending from the bottom of the glass panel and a thumbscrew connection attaching the top portion of the glass panel to the lighting assembly. Hot exhaust gasses generated by the lighting assembly may escape through vents near the top of the lighting assembly, below the heating assembly.

Abstract: A torch suitable for use in recreational applications, such as with patios or decks, includes a gas cylinder, a holder for the cylinder, a pole to support the holder and a burner for producing a stable, visible flame. The burner includes one or more holes for injecting primary air near a flow-controlled gas orifice and a burn tip spaced from the orifice. A bowl is mounted about the burn tip and is preferably shaped for providing wind resistance and admitting secondary air at its exit to produce a stable, visible flame. In the preferred embodiment, the enclosure is made from plastic, and has a socket for receiving the pole. An oil, such as citronella oil, may be mixed with the propane or other gas in the cylinder to scent the area in which the torch is used.
Abstract: A portable stand supports both a lighting device and a heating device, such as a lantern and a space heater or stove, and directs fuel to these devices from a single source. The lighting device and heating device are both quickly and easily mountable on the stand, enabling easy assembly and one-piece transport to an outdoor site where both heat and illumination are desired. The stand preferably is a unitary assembly with easy connection and disconnection of fuel lines, and is compact and allows close mounting against a wall or other structure, such as the wall of an ice-fishing house. Embodiments of the invention have application to fishing, particularly ice fishing, as well as to other outdoor activities such as photography, maintenance, farming, construction and utility work, to name a few.
Abstract: A camping lantern and cooking stove set for use with a gas canister includes a valve, which is attachable to the gas canister for regulating an outflow of gas to either a mixing tube designed to distribute an appropriate amount of gas to a gas lantern or a mixing tube designed to distribute an appropriate amount of gas to a cooking stove.
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved, ultra-compact, piezoelectric spark start, butane fueled, incandescent mantle type lantern for backpackers and the like, which utilizes readily available, common disposable butane cigarette lighters as an insertable and removable "fuel cell". Illumination intensity is operator controlled at the fuel cell flame adjustment control. Piezo sparking is sequenced with push-button movement of the butane lighter gas release lever, for convenient and controlled gas discharge. The lantern base portion is retractable on upright posts, into the globe (upper assembly) once the "fuel cell" is removed from the base guide, and the combination piezoelectric element and fuel cell receiver. Once removed from the receiver integral to the lantern, the "fuel cell" again may be used as a conventional cigarette lighter.

Abstract: A portable gas lamp of the type having a cylindrical base acting as a casing for a removable gas cartridge and a cylindrical glass chimney which extends upwardly from the base and surrounds an incandescent mantle, in which there is provided a cylindrical sleeve which surrounds the previously stated parts of the lamp and is movable between a first position where it protectively covers the said glass chimney and a second, lower position in which the glass chimney is uncovered and the sleeve surrounds the base. The sleeve is preferably slidingly supported on a pair of upright posts attached to the base, and means is provided for securing the sleeve at least in its uppermost position where it covers the glass chimney.
