Abstract: A versatile cooker that includes a crucible or base, a fire bowl with a cooking surface on top of it and, a cover/lid or dome that rests over the cooking surface. An exemplary embodiment of the cooker can be described as a naturally fired outdoor cooker constructed of a light weight, thermally insulated material such as Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) as the crucible, a stainless steel fire bowl and a dome lid. A grilling surface constructed out of carbon steel and ceramic disks are used as internal heat sinks.

Abstract: A grill having a bottom section and a middle section for expanding the diameter of the bottom section and at least one insert for separating the opening formed by the bottom section to allow smoking or an open fire. Different cooking surfaces are thereby a grill, a flat frying surface, an open area for receiving and holding a reservoir of water, such as a pot, and an open area for receiving a wok. There is also a hearth section for enclosing at least a portion of the exterior of the bottom section. It also envisions a smoker or ash guard expandable to fit either diameter to protect the cook and provide a surface for placing items attached to the stand apart from the heat source.

Abstract: The present invention is embodied in a grill configured for quick assembly, a method of partially pre-assembling the grill for shipping from the factory in a container, and a method of assembling the grill when removed from the shipping container. The grill comprises a firebox assembly for mounting on a cart assembly, the cart assembly having first and second support assemblies and at least one linking member interconnecting them. A hinge or pivot in the mid-portion of the linking member divides it into first and second linking member portions, and the opposite ends of the linking member portions are pivotally connected by hinges or the like to the first and second support assemblies. The linking member holds the first and second support assemblies together in a partially pre-assembled state, and the pivotal connections of the linking member portions allow the two assemblies to be folded for packaging in a shipping container.

Abstract: A combined type of barbecue oven comprises a barbecue oven and a coil base frame provided with rollers, the barbecue oven is mounted on the coil base frame, wherein the two ends of the supporting structure of the barbecue oven are provided with a foldable object placement plate. The object placement plate of the barbecue oven is foldable; therefore the occupying space is small. Moreover, the volume of the whole oven body is small, which is convenient for moving. When being moved in a short distance, the barbecue oven does not need to be moved, it only requires to mount the coil base frame with an inclined side and provided with the rollers and the barbecue oven on the coil base frame, so that the whole combined type of barbecue oven can be dragged to move; the barbecue oven is conveniently used, healthful, and suitable for being popularized.

Abstract: A portable heater has a housing with a base, an opposing open end, a sidewall extending between the base and the open end, an opening in the sidewall, and a lip in the sidewall proximate the open end. A fuel container support for receiving a fuel container is in the housing, proximate the base. A cover selectably coupled to the housing closes off the open end. The cover has a flue for receiving heat from a heating unit and directing the heat out of the housing.

Abstract: A grill assembly for attachment to a trailer hitch includes a support post including a trailer hitch received segment having a trailer hitch received end and a grill mounting segment. A convertible grill includes a lower portion that has a back side, a front side, a first end, an open second end, and a bottom side. A charcoal grill insert has a first semicircular end, a second semicircular end, and an exterior wall extending between the ends. The charcoal grill insert can be inserted into the opening so that the convertible grill can be used as a charcoal grill. A propane grill insert has a first crescent end, a second crescent end, and an outside wall extending between the ends. The propane grill can be inserted into the opening and the convertible grill be used as a propane grill.

Abstract: The improved charcoal starter design has several improvements, one being that it utilizes either; readily combustible materials like wadded up paper or a removable or replaceable common electric heating element to heat charcoal to incandescent and safely deposit hot embers into the grill. The common electric heating element is held in place through a clip fixedly attached to the inside of the charcoal starter housing walls and opposite of the opening for the electric heating element.

Abstract: The invention is a stove that is portable, has a double walled external structure for the passage of air used in combustion of the fuel, which air also maintains the external surface at a cool enough temperature that it can be touched, and which air flow prevents the waste of heat laterally to the ambient air from a hot outer surface. This increases cooking efficiency, because almost all heat that reaches the air flow between the two walls is drawn right into the combustion chamber in the form of preheated air by reason of the chimney effect. Thus almost no heat can escape the outside wall except by reaching the cooking pot bottom and pot sides after passing out the cover vents as exhaust. The stove is preferably powered with coal, and uses about half as much coal as a conventional coal fired stove resulting from cooking efficiency.

Abstract: A windscreen configured for use with a backpacking type of stove and a cooking container. The windscreen more effectively and efficiently directs the heat from the stove to the sides of the container so as to utilize less fuel to warm the materials therein, thereby reducing the weight to be carried by the user. In one embodiment, a plurality of adjustable lower vents selectively partially or fully open to control the wind allowed into the interior area of the windscreen so as to better transfer heat from the stove to the sides of the container. In another embodiment, adjustable support tabs at the upper end of the windscreen allow the user to adjust air flow out of the windscreen. In yet another embodiment, the upper end of the windscreen engages the sides or lip of the cooking container and air flows from the interior area through upper vent holes.

Abstract: A firebowl assembly is provided which includes a firebowl and a stand for the firebowl. The stand has a first, erected mode wherein the stand supports the firebowl and a second, folded mode wherein the stand is adapted to be received within the firebowl for storage therein. The stand includes a support ring for supporting the firebowl in the first state of the stand and a plurality of legs pivotably connected to the ring and pivotable between (i) an erected state in the first mode of the stand and (ii) a folded state in the second mode of the stand.

Abstract: A barbecue apparatus is provided, the apparatus comprises: a firebowl having an open topside and a bottomside which has a circumference smaller than a circumference of the topside of the firebowl, and the bottomside of the firebowl comprises at least one central aperture situated adjacent at least one peripheral aperture; a base frame comprising a top end, a bottom end, and a central cavity, and the peripheral aperture of the firebowl leads to the central cavity of the column, and the top end of the column is connected to the bottomside of the firebowl; and an ash scraper assembly comprising a frame having at least one arm designed to cover and uncover the peripheral aperture and an actuator pivotally attached to the frame and designed to rotate the arms to cover and uncover the peripheral apertures and scrape the bottomside of the firebowl.

Abstract: Outdoor cooking apparatus including a basin, a grate within the basin, a pedestal including a housing having a chamber and a container for a heat generating source. The container is preferably an insertable starter unit that is removably secured within the chamber and remains in place during cooking. The outdoor cooking apparatus is particularly useful for wok cooking as a wok may be placed on the grate such that a small diameter of very hot air is delivered from the insertable starter unit to the wok. The outdoor cooking apparatus may further be modified for other cooking purposes requiring a broader diameter of lower heat. This embodiment further includes a diffuser, preferably including a plate having apertures therein and a second larger planar grate placed within the basin above the diffuser.

Abstract: The present invention provides a bench top grill assembly that includes a rigid continuous grill body, a grill grate removably covering an upper opening, and a fuel element receptacle or container removably positionable in the grill body through a lateral opening dimensioned to closely receive the container. A safety handle projects from the fuel element container through the lateral opening away from sides of the grill body so that the handle does not become heated during use and may be safely gripped. A support table with multiple dimensions, forks, and condiment dishes increase the convenience of the bench top grill assembly.

The base includes insulating material which at least partially defines a combustion chamber for holding a combustible material for providing heat in use. The closure member is arranged to be seated on the base and at least partially defines a cooking chamber heated by the combustible material. The base typically includes an upper section and a lower section with an air inlet defined between the sections to allow air flow into the combustion chamber. The apparatus includes a body portion which includes an elongate air inlet for feeding air to the combustion chamber in use, the inlet being defined between the upper and lower sections.

Abstract: An inline heating device for fluid has rotary members frictionally engaging a fixed heat exchanger chamber defining a central fluid transfer conduit. The rotary members are rotated by a drive shaft having a multiple vein turbine assembly adjacent the heat exchanger chamber fluid transfer conduit being driven by the fluid flow therethrough. The rotary members have enhanced friction engagement surface portions which are spring urged against a portion of the heat exchanger chamber generating heat therein for thermal transfer to the fluid flow therewithin.

Abstract: A wood burning barbecue grill construction 10 including a base member 20 optionally mounted on a support post 90 and dimensioned to receive an enlarged hollow cylindrical container member 30 and a support column 40 provided with a stop collar 41 that rotatably supports a first swivel collar element 52 fixedly secured to a grill member 50 having a barred grill portion 53 and a flat grill portion 54 and a warming plate 60 rotatably suspended above said grill member 50 via a second swivel collar element.

Abstract: A cooking apparatus for improved heat circulation and containment when smoking or grilling using electric, gas, or charcoal as the heat source. The base pan design enhances heat containment, and offers a channel design in the bottom of the base pan. A flame disk for even heat distribution is provided and can be used in conjunction with the base pan, and prevents internal food drippings from escaping through the disk. The disk design enhances the heat efficiency, and safeguards against drippings or ashes falling through to the burner or ground. The holes in the disk are raised, and has attached covers strategically placed over the holes to deter drippings or ashes from falling through. A fire pit container is also provided and designed for use with the base pan. The fire pit container supports a heat source such as a gas burner which directs a flame toward the base pan open hole and also toward the underside of a flame disk when a flame disk is suspended above the base pan hole.

Abstract: To provide a novel barbecue stove, a cooking stove includes an outer frame and an inner frame having an opening portion at its upper portion and disposed within the outer frame. A flame lattice is provided within the inner frame. A multi-layer structure space partitioned by a partitioning member is formed between the outer frame and the inner frame. The space is formed into an air flow passage through which outside air to be introduced from one position is discharged from the other position.

Abstract: A collapsible cooking apparatus including a collapsible generally circular shaped hollow cooking enclosure that has containers in its interior for holding fuel during the cooking process. A collapsible structure is also included for suspending articles above or within the collapsible generally circular shaped hollow cooking enclosure for cooking or warming. This collapsible structure for suspending articles has a plurality of collapsible legs whose lower end portions are adapted to rest upon the ground or the like around the collapsible generally circular shaped hollow cooking enclosure when the collapsible cooking apparatus is assembled for cooking.

Abstract: A patio table and outdoor barbecue combination in which a burner pit is positioned in the upper section of a table central, hollow-core pedestal, and can be covered when not in use by a lid flush with the upper surface of the table slab. In the charcoal-fuel embodiment, the cooking griddle, charcoal plate, and ash-collecting bucket are held at successively space-apart levels within the inner wall of the burner pit which has an inverted frusto-conical shape. In the gas-fired embodiment, a small propane canister is conveniently located under the table top.

Abstract: A heat radiator for an outdoor cooking unit having a base. Formed in the upstanding walls of the base are openings for the entry of combustion air. Within the base and seated on the base above the combustion air openings is a fire grate. Above the fire grate and supported by the base is a cover. The cover includes a generally flat, horizontal top plate that is formed with parallel rows and columns of relatively small openings for the flow of hot air from the heat radiator. The openings formed in the top plate are sufficiently large to inhibit the accumulation of foreign material thereon and are sufficiently small to inhibit the rapid burning of fuel elements on the fire grate.

Abstract: A grill, which may be portable, includes an open support lattice surrounded by upright walls. The support lattice forms a plurality of adjoining bays each dimensioned to receive and support a fuel module in the form of a disposable non-flammable tray and charcoal briquettes within the tray. Various food supporting devices may be used to support items of food to be cooked on the upper edges of the walls or at selected lower levels by use of terraced steps cut out in the walls. By placing fuel modules in less than all the bays, both the size and the shape of the cooking area can be selected. When no fuel modules are used a flat plate can be placed on top of the support lattice on which conventional briquettes can be placed.

Abstract: An improved charcoal starter that employs a grate having a conical shaped charcoal briquette receiving and stacking portion, to permit an enhanced rise of heat to impact the coals to get them to burn. The heat may come from paper kindling as conventionally disposed beneath the grate, or from a resistance heater element built into the grate. The grate may resemble a witch's hat with the retaining disk being the brim and a conical portion being disposed thereon, both with suitable apertures therein; or the grate can be made of suitable wire. The grate may be permanently mounted within the starter's cylindrical body or be removable therefrom.

A firebox is provided within the housing for charcoal or other fuel and is perforated to permit combustion air to pass therethrough. A fan is provided at a lower end of the column, for drawing air up through the column and forcing it through into the upper body and hence through the firebox, for promoting combustion of the fuel.

Abstract: A multi-chambered barbecue grill having a main chamber, a cooking grill located in the main chamber, a fire source located in the main chamber below the cooking grill, an ash chamber attached to the main chamber below the fire source for catching ashes, and a reversible top chamber located above the main chamber, adapted for receiving the cooking grill in its reversed position. Various mechanisms are provided for raising and lowering the cooking grill to desired elevations above the fire source.

Abstract: A versatile cooker assembly includes a rectangular fire pan and a cover which may enclose the other parts of the assembly when they are packed for storage. These additional parts include a pair of supporting end plates and a pair of side plates in addition to a grill. Fasteners selectively hold the cover onto the fire pan, or the supporting end plates to the fire pan to mount it off the ground, with transverse ribs on the end plates providing support for the grill at different levels above the fire pan. The front and rear side plates fit tightly into recesses at the edges of the end plates to form a wind screen or a baking chamber; and the cover of the unit may partially or completely enclose the top of the assembly for smoking or baking purposes.

Abstract: A solid fuel burning heating apparatus, used as a parlor stove, is also used for cooking. The stove is provided with a self-clearing top smoke chamber having a top cover over an aperture. A cooking tray is supported in the aperture when the stove is operating. The tray has a surface for holding coals and an opening communicating between the aperture and the interior of the stove. A perforate cooking surface is supported above the tray.

Abstract: A fluid friction furnace is provided having a water jacket surrounding an enclosure partially filled with a heat transfer fluid. A plurality of rotating discs sandwiched between a plurality of stationary plates are rotated inducing the heat transfer oil into grooves in the surface of the rotating discs and circulating the oil between the rotating discs and stationary plates. Continuing pressure is applied between the rotating discs and stationary plates to generate calibrated fluid pressures in the circulation of the heated transfer fluid. By virtue of this forced friction circulation, the heat transfer fluid heats the enclosure and the water jacket surrounding the same. Circulation of the water in the water jacket throughout conventional systems provides distribution of the heat.

Abstract: A barbecue mountable in a wall recess as a folded unit having a thickness less than the corresponding dimension of the wall. The barbecue includes a cooking assembly and a sliding hinge mechanism which attaches the assembly to the wall and allows the assembly to be unfolded and moved away from the wall to a position of use. A carrier frame of the cooking assembly supports a removable fuel pan and is fitted with folding parts which carry a detachable rack above the pan.
