Multiple Patents (Class 126/296)
  • Patent number: 9897340
Abstract: An economizer having a first air inlet, a second air inlet and an air outlet, a method of operating an economizer and a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system employing the economizer. In one embodiment, the economizer includes: (1) a first damper blade assembly in fluid communication with the first air inlet and the air outlet and having a first plurality of damper blades configured to move in parallel and (2) a second damper blade assembly in fluid communication with the second air inlet and the air outlet and having a second plurality of damper blades configured to move in opposition.

  • Patent number: 8191546
Abstract: A flue tuning and emissions saving system is disclosed. The device or system includes an inlet duct (20) having an inlet cross-sectional area and an outlet duct (18) having an outlet cross-sectional area that is the same as the inlet cross-sectional area. An outer duct (16) that is of an outer duct cross-sectional area is sealingly connected to the inlet duct (20) and the outlet duct (18), while separating the inlet duct (20) and the outlet duct (18). At least one disc (12) that is positioned at a specified distance S between the inlet duct (20) and at the same S to the outlet duct (18) and centered in the outer duct, the disk (12) includes a specified disc area so that flow of an exhaust gas entering the system through the inlet duct (20) will be diverted by the disc (12) into the outer duct (16) before the flow continues to the outlet duct (18) without encountering a restriction in flow cross-sectional area.

  • Patent number: 5780091
Abstract: A spiral wound instant pasta solid sauce composite noodle is disclosed which employs selected dusting agents and solid sauce interleaved within the spiral to insure unrolling of the spiral upon subsequent boiling. A method for the preparation of the sauce and the noodle is also disclosed along with a system for packing the noodles in flexible envelopes to reduce breakage of the noodles and to permit inclusion of noodles longer than the flexible package filling aperture and reducing the incidence of perforation of the package.

  • Patent number: 4484562
Abstract: A flexible disk damper which is capable of providing tight seals for a large diameter opening over a wide range of temperatures. Disks are made sufficiently flexible to compensate for inherent warpage in the damper seat by using a steel with a higher yield strength. Additionally, a varying cross-sectional thickness of the flexible disk is provided to ensure that unit stress is not exceeded along any point of the radius of the flexible disk for the deformation required to provide a tight seal. A pneumatic cylinder is utilized to provide a constant pressure to the flexible disks. A damper seat is fabricated from a cut plate or flat bar which is formed in an annulus. A deflection cone is utilized to deflect flue gases. The flexible disk is coupled together by bolts which are disposed in holes sufficiently large to allow independent movement of the disks to maximize deflection.

  • Patent number: 4191171
Abstract: A damper assembly for association with the draft hood of a fuel fired heating appliance to control flow of exhaust gases through both the flue tube and the vent pipe. The assembly comprises a pair of damper members shaped to conform to the cross-section of the inlets and outlets of the draft hood. The damper members are spaced apart a distance equal to the distance between the inlet and outlet and carried from a single mounting shaft which extends transversely into the draft hood generally midway between the inlet and outlet openings. Suitable power means are provided to rotate the damper members from a first position in which they are in alignment with the inlet and outlet openings to a second position wherein they are out of alignment and permit free flow of exhaust gases.

  • Patent number: 3987785
Abstract: The device is a baffle array that is housed in a section of pipe that coupled from an oil burner to a chimney. The baffle array, when closed, blocks about 70 percent of the pipe cross-sectional area and opens upon the occurrence of a small explosion when the oil burner starts to permit this explosive puff to pass to the chimney. The baffle array includes three baffle plates, each pivoting at its top end and all interconnected at the bottom end.
