Abstract: Disclosed is a modularly constructed and variably configurable cook top arrangement of ready-made single modules each containing in a frame construction all parts necessary for operation as a burner module, exhaust component, blower unit, control module, signal and display unit, or other components, having a glass ceramic cook top in which the individual modules have shaped metal parts to which materials for thermal insulation are joined, and which have fastening means by which the modules can be arranged with one another and with the frame and can be fastened releasably to form a single functional unit, and on which openings, bores and recesses are provided as an assembling means for fastening the parts necessary for operation and for leading in and fixing the wiring and/or the ignition, control, and safety and indicating systems.
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a gas supply to a gas appliance, having valve means disposed in a gas supply and an activation means for controlling the valve means. In a preferred embodiment, the present invention is used in a free-standing gas range having a control panel whereon the activation means which is a rotary mechanical knob is disposed. Further, the valve means used in the gas shutoff apparatus is mechanically activated. In a further embodiment, the apparatus for controlling a gas supply to a free-standing gas range having a control panel whereon the activation means is disposed, further has an electrical push-button switch which controls an electromechanically activated valve means.
Abstract: A reliable, easily installable and replaceable range top system sealingly and removably connects a sealed glass panel to the structure of a range top. The system comprises a glass panel-elastic seal assembly, including a glass range top panel and an elastic seal attached at the periphery of the glass range top panel, a carrier for the glass panel-elastic seal assembly and means for removably fastening the glass panel into sealing engagement with the range top structure without tools, the fastening means providing an easily disengageable interlock with the range top structure.

Abstract: A heat retaining device comprising a plurality of heat retaining elements which can be positioned on the burner of a hot water heater. While the burner is ignited they collect and store heat from the burner which ordinarily might be wasted. After the burner is de-energized the heat that they release keeps the water in the hot water heater warm so that the intervals between energization of the burner are increased and fuel is saved thereby.
