Vapor Patents (Class 126/44)
  • Patent number: 4192284
Abstract: A portable stove of the type fuelled from a replaceable pressurized combustible gas cartridge which is secured inside a cover member supporting a burner head and having means for connecting the burner head to the replaceable cartridge. A pair of covers, which telescopically fit one into the other have the dual function of serving separately as saucepans or in co-operation as an expandible housing for storing the stove, the covers being selectively telescopable to relatively greater or lesser extents, respectively to store the stove assembled or alternatively disassembled. The stove has arms which are shaped so as to provide, when the arms are extended, upstanding portions which are inscribed in a circle whose diameter is greater than the external diameters of the covers.

  • Patent number: 4170981
Abstract: A burner of the air adjustment type using a liquid fuel includes a fuel chamber including a bottom wall, a peripheral side wall and at least one fuel gas opening on the top surface portion of the fuel chamber and a burner proper including a fuel chamber attachment, an inner gas chamber and a plurality of final gas openings arranged and distributed annularly on the ceiling wall of the gas chamber. The burner proper further includes variable air openings connected to the gas chamber, wherein an annular variable air passage surrounding the fuel chamber and being connected to the variable air openings at a position lower than the position of the fuel gas opening is formed between the inner face of the peripheral side wall of the gas chamber of the burner proper and the outer face of the peripheral side wall of the fuel chamber.

  • Patent number: 4126117
Abstract: The portable single burner campstove of this invention is characterized by compactness to conform to the space limitations of backpacking. The cooking unit assembly which can be mounted on top of a tank includes a reflector bowl, a burner within the reflector bowl and a grate. In addition, there is provided a burner box attached to the reflector bowl in communication with the burner. The burner box includes internal venturi means for carrying fuel from the tank into the burner box. In particular, there is provided a tube extending inwardly from the side of the burner box. The tube serves to entrain air with the fuel as the fuel is fed into the burner box. In addition, the burner box serves as a mixing chamber and distribution plenum for feeding a steady flow or an air/fuel mixture to the burner. The portable single burner campstove of the invention is characterized by high efficiency with minimum external dimensions.

  • Patent number: 4105013
Abstract: A portable stove of the type fuelled from a replaceable pressurized combustible gas cartridge and having means for connecting a burner head to the replaceable cartridge, said stove being equipped with a dished wind shield having a rim which surrounds the burner head, and cooking vessel support arms pairs of which are formed by yokes pivoted along their middle sections on the floor of the dished wind shield such that the arms are movable between cooking vessel supporting positions in which the said arms extend beyond the rim of the said wind shield and stowing positions in which the said arms are moved back within the periphery of the rim. A pair of covers, which telescopically fit one into the other have the dual function of serving separately as saucepans and in co-operation as an expandible housing for the stove.

  • Patent number: 4078540
Abstract: This invention relates to a kerosene vapor stove with an automatic fuel feeding system. There are two ways of vaporizing the kerosene. When the stove is about to be lighted, kerosene is channelled into a preliminary preheating tube to be heated up to a high temperature within a short time. The heated kerosene under pressure passes through a nozzle and shoots through an air gap into a mixing tube, vaporizing in the process. The mixture of the kerosene vapor and air is delivered into a burner where it burns. After the stove has been lighted for about two minutes, the loop of tube above the burner will be well heated. This tube is a part of the normal path for kerosene. Kerosene is now channelled through this tube for preheating, utilizing the heat produced by the burner to effect vaporization. The automatic feeding of the kerosene is accomplished through using a steel container containing kerosene up to 80% of its volume. A tube extends from the outlet valve of the container down to its bottom.

  • Patent number: 3933146
Abstract: The portable single burner campstove of this invention is characterized by wind resistance and high efficiency. The cooking unit, which can be mounted on top of a support stand, includes a reflector bowl, a burner within the reflector bowl, and grate means for supporting a cooking utensil over the burner. In addition, there is provided a burner bowl within the reflector bowl and surrounding the burner. The utensil supporting grate is formed from a plurality of vertically-oriented strips of sheet metal, the lower portions of which extend downwardly into the burner bowl and the reflector bowl for cooperating therewith to increase the heat transferred to the cooking utensil and to reduce the adverse effect of crosswinds on such transfer. Preferably, where the burner is gas-fired, it is mounted on an adjustable support stand, so that different size gas bottles may be used with the stove, legs of adjustable inclination forming one side of the support and a bottle of fuel gas the other side.
