  • Patent number: 8151699
Abstract: A stovetop grilling device includes a catch tray that has a plurality of downward pointing V-shaped first members attached to a first frame and having parallel side edges spaced from one another by a first distance. A grilling surface has a plurality of upward pointing V-shaped second members attached to a second frame and having parallel side edges spaced from one another by the first distance. The second frame is located over the first frame with a mid-point between the parallel side edges of each of the first members centrally located between and below the parallel side edges of two adjacent second members and a mid-point between the parallel side edges of each of the second members centrally located between and above the parallel side edges of two adjacent first members. Heat follows an angled path upward to the grilling surface and food drippings flow downward to the catch tray.

  • Patent number: 6991453
Abstract: An oil lamp for providing a unique flame formation usable in a variety of decorative applications. The lamp includes a body that has an open upper end and that defines a chamber for carrying a combustible liquid. The lamp further includes a planar wick having a lower end located in the chamber of the body, for contacting the combustible liquid, and an upper end projecting upwardly from the open upper end. The wick may be positioned between first and second plates arranged in a spaced, confronting relationship to enhance capillary action or may be wrapped about a rigid plate. When lit, the lamp provides a unique flame formation. Optionally, the lamp may include scented oil and a conductive element to promote the release of fragrance upon heating, and the wick can be configured free of material having a high heat conductivity.

  • Patent number: 5211553
Abstract: A die-cut wick for use in the burner of a disposable fuel cell formed from a single sheet of wicking material so that the wick has two symmetrical half-sections situated on either side of a vertical center line and which are folded along the center line into a face-to-face alignment. Each half-section further includes an elongated lower body segment containing a horizontally-disposed upper edge, a narrow neck segment centered on the upper edge of the body segment and a tab vertically extending therefrom to a given height. The neck is slidably received within a burner of a fuel cell so that it can be raised or lowered between limits to control the flame height and the amount of heat produced by the burner. The tabs are foldable toward and away from each other to further control the flame geometry and distribution of the heat.
