The deflector has an upwardly presented cooking utensil opening formed therein and a horizontally disposed cooking utensil support secured to the deflector at the inner surface thereof below the cooking utensil opening. The cooking utensil support dwells in a plane below the upper end of the radiation disk whereby infrared rays emitted from the radiation disk will impinge upon the cooking utensil support and a cooking utensil positioned on the cooking utensil support to cook or heat the contents thereof. Other accessories may also be attached to the heater such as a protective grill or a cooking basket.

The area beneath the support ring and within the perimeter of the support leg members defines a lid storage space. A lid support assembly has a horizontally oriented tubular sleeve portion having a tension coil spring passing therethrough. The opposite ends of the coil spring are detachably secured to brackets on the support ring. A vertically oriented anchor leg has its top end adjustably received on a T-connector portion extending downwardly from the tubular sleeve portion. The anchor leg has a hook on its bottom end that loops under the handle of a Dutch oven lid. Anchor arms extending inwardly from the respective support leg members would maintain a downward force on the Dutch oven lid causing the coil spring to be place under tension.

Abstract: A hot beverage making device includes a boiler for heating water; a housing for accommodating the boiler and connecting element for connecting the boiler to the housing. During operation of the boiler, water is heated and water vapor bubbles are created inside the boiler. Formation of the bubbles causes varying moments about the center of mass of the boiler. The connecting element is adapted to prevent transmittal to the housing of at least a portion of the moment variations. This keeps the noise produced as a result of vibrations of the housing at an acceptable level. In particular, the connecting element is adapted to let the boiler have at least one rotational degree of freedom.

A plurality of second supporting members is pivotally connected with the second jaw portions. Each of the second supporting members includes a second supporting portion. The supporting assembly is transformable from a folded storage position to an operative position. The first supporting portions are able to support a cooking vessel thereon. The second supporting portions support the supporting assembly on a supportive substrate.

Abstract: The present invention is embodied in a grill configured for quick assembly, a method of partially pre-assembling the grill for shipping from the factory in a container, and a method of assembling the grill when removed from the shipping container. The grill comprises a firebox assembly for mounting on a cart assembly, the cart assembly having first and second support assemblies and at least one linking member interconnecting them. A hinge or pivot in the mid-portion of the linking member divides it into first and second linking member portions, and the opposite ends of the linking member portions are pivotally connected by hinges or the like to the first and second support assemblies. The linking member holds the first and second support assemblies together in a partially pre-assembled state, and the pivotal connections of the linking member portions allow the two assemblies to be folded for packaging in a shipping container.

Abstract: A cooking apparatus includes a frame with an upper section for holding a pot and a lower section for resting upon an underlying support surface. The frame has a burner element that can be a nozzle tube having a commercially available burner nozzle for generating a cooking flame during use. The nozzle can be fueled with propane, butane or the like using a commercially available tank, regulator and supply hose. The frame can include an upper ring, lower rings, the upper ring providing legs, pot support bars or members for holding the bottom of a pot. A heat shield is comprised of multiple specially configured sections that overlap and connect to the frame. The shield is positioned below the flame during use to lessen heat transfer from the flame to the underlying support surface.

Abstract: An assembly for aligning a top frame with respect to a top portion of a chassis in a home appliance is provided. The assembly includes a top frame and a support plate. The support plate is configured to be secured to a chassis and includes a first set and a second set of protrusions. The first set of protrusions is configured to engage the top frame to align the top frame in fore and aft directions. The second set of protrusions is configured to engage the top frame to align the top frame in transverse directions. A method for aligning a top frame with respect to a top portion of a chassis in a home appliance is also provided.

A convertible grill includes a lower portion that has a back side, a front side, a first end, an open second end, and a bottom side. A charcoal grill insert has a first semicircular end, a second semicircular end, and an exterior wall extending between the ends. The charcoal grill insert can be inserted into the opening so that the convertible grill can be used as a charcoal grill. A propane grill insert has a first crescent end, a second crescent end, and an outside wall extending between the ends. The propane grill can be inserted into the opening and the convertible grill be used as a propane grill.

Abstract: The inventions disclosed herein relate to frame assemblies for gas barbecue grills which incorporate structures for preventing a consumer from storing replacement fuel tanks on the grill, in order to minimize fire and tipping hazards. Because it is known that many consumers never install or even remove prior art tank blockers, the tank blocker of the present invention is adapted to serve as a function of the grill (in addition to the function of blocking a tank) or to support a component of the grill. The preferred embodiment of the tank blocker described herein is adapted to support a component of the grease management system, namely the grease drip pan. Consequently, it is believed that consumers will be forced to install or will be prevented from removing the tank blocker, lest the grease management system become inoperable (or function improperly), causing grease to spill onto the cart.

The device includes at least one support member and at least one retaining member slidably disposed on the support member. The retaining member has an anchoring mechanism movably disposed on it that is used to lock it into place with respect to the support member. The retaining member contacts the sides of a pot or other cooking vessel when in an active position and may be moved into a stowed position.

Abstract: A stove and pot arrangement is provided that affords utility to backpackers and other users having limited space. The apparatus provides a specially configured stove frame having laterally spaced apart channels that are receptive of the pot rim and wall and wherein the pot interior is receptive of a central portion of the frame, the pot and frame having about the same overall height.

Abstract: The inventions disclosed herein generally relate to isolating heat sensitive components from the heat source of a barbecue grill. In the preferred embodiment, ceramic bushings are used to isolate a glass-reinforced nylon grill stand from the cooking chamber of a barbecue grill. The bushing incorporates a beveled upper edge for engaging with lobes which downwardly depend from the cooking chamber. The bushing also incorporates a circular lower portion for engagement with an aperture in the grill stand. The bushing is locked into engagement with the cooking chamber using a threaded bolt and is locked into loose engagement with the grill stand using a spring clip. The combination of the beveled upper edge and the loose engagement with the grill stand allows the bushing to float with respect to both the grill stand and cooking chamber. As a result, manufacturing tolerance requirements can be relaxed.

Abstract: A portable outdoor cooking and decorative appliance including a combustion compartment and a separate oven compartment. The appliance can burn a variety of solid, liquid, and/or gaseous fuels. An annular air port is formed between a periphery of the combustion device and the encircling ring, and a surface of the encircling ring is used to block lateral airflow.

Abstract: A cooking grill or other cooking apparatus with heating drawers that may be slid into and out of a cabinet assembly like a drawer in a desk or dresser. There are two types of burning drawers, both of which have rectangular box-like shapes, with the same dimensions, so that either one of them can be inserted into the same slots in the cabinet assembly. The first type of drawer is designed for wood or charcoal. The second type of drawer is designed for natural gas. One drawer can be slid out, and the other drawer can be slid in. There are three type of cooking surfaces: a wok grill with a radially grating, a teriyaki plate with a solid surface, and a barbeque grill having apertures in a staggered array. The first embodiment has four drawers and two cooking areas. The second embodiment has three drawers and three cooking areas.

Abstract: A cart suitable for supporting a grill, including a firebox. The cart has four panels each of which has all four of its edges bent to form a flange that provides structural rigidity and a connection feature for facilitating the assembly of the cart. Two opposing side panels are carried by and preferably welded to a respective side frame. The side frames are joined by upper crossbars, one at the front of the cart and a second at the rear of the cart. A bottom panel fits into and is carried by troughs formed by upturned lips on the lower edges of the side panels. The structural integrity and racking strength of the cart is enhanced by the attachment of a rear panels, which has a lower lip that locks into engagement with the rear edge of the bottom panel. The top edge of the rear panel is fastened to the rear upper crossbar to complete the basic structure of the cart. Hooks welded to the side frames allow easy and secure attachment of side and front attachments to the cart.

When the barbecue stove is in use, the grease plate can be mounted on the frame by the bent portion. When the barbecue stove is not in use, the grease plate can be locked by the feet.

Abstract: An outdoor cooking apparatus includes a burner frame that has a base with a portion that engages an underlying support surface during use, an upper grill or grate that receives a pot during use, the upper grill having a cooking surface. The frame includes a plurality of legs that extend between the base and the grill. In the preferred embodiment, the base can be a ring. In the preferred embodiment, the grill can include a ring and a plurality of radially extending struts. In this fashion, the ring surrounds a pot that is placed upon the struts, limiting the lateral movement of the pot. The pot has a diameter and a height, the pot is sized and shaped to fit inside the frame envelope during shipment or storage. The legs extend around the pot and the burner element in the storage position. A wind guard shroud is attached to the underside of the radial struts. This shroud is also contained within the pot when in a storage position.

Abstract: A portable cooking apparatus is provided comprising a grill body having a cooking chamber having a lower firebox; the firebox has a base and two sidewall. The apparatus further comprises a frame assembly with two frame members, and a mounting assembly having at least two mounting members attached to the firebox; the first mounting member is directly connected to the first frame member and the second mounting member is directly connected to the second frame member to thereby create a distance between the cooking chamber and the frame assembly to avoid heat damage to the frame assembly when the cooking chamber is in use and the mounting assembly creating a fixed special relationship between the first and second frame members without the need of a cross member between the frame members.

Abstract: A barbecue grill stand. A stand is provided for supporting a barbecue grill. The stand has a top section and a bottom section. The top section may be independently used without the bottom section to provide for a compact apparatus that may be rested on a table, the tailgate of a pickup truck, or the like. The top section may be engaged upon the bottom section to provide a full-size barbecue grill stand that may free-stand upon the floor or ground. The top section connects and disconnects with and from the bottom section simply and without the use of tools or complicated fasteners. The apparatus employs one or two sets of wheels to provide for easy movement, and can be easily and quickly collapsed into a small space for transportation and storage between uses.

The apparatus increases heating efficiency of the flame, and prevents undesirable heating of a handle of the cookware in cooking.

Abstract: A wok support ring supports the weight of a wok and food items to be cooked in the wok and imparts a rocking motion to the wok as it is moved in a back and forth motion by the worker. A wok rocking device includes the use of a wok support base which moves in a rocking motion via cam tracks with roller followers. When the worker pulls the wok in a back and forth motion, the rollers follow the cam track to cause the wok to rise rapidly and then rock forward near the end of the stroke. A wok rocking device also can utilize movable linkages attached to a wok support base in order to create the rocking motion needed to mix and fold the food items within the wok.

When the cover is in the closed position, the internal lip is positioned inward of the firebox periphery. This means that the internal lip is positioned within the perimeter of the firebox, as defined by the rim. The grill assembly further comprises a burner element positioned in the firebox, a cooking grate positioned in the firebox above the burner element, and a frame assembly adapted to support the cooking chamber.

A perforated upper burner defining a hollow core is removably nestable within the lower burner. The upper burner is movable between a first collapsed position, wherein the upper burner is disposed within the lower burner, and a second operative position, wherein the upper burner is supported upright on the lower burner. When the upper burner is in the first collapsed position, the canister may mate with the base to extinguish the fire.
