Abstract: A method of cooking food with steam in an automatic household oven comprises receiving a user inputted cooking temperature, receiving a user inputted steam level, and implementing a preprogrammed steam cooking cycle based on the user inputted cooking temperature and the user inputted steam level.
Abstract: A fireplace for concurrent use inside and outside of a structure includes a combustion chamber enclosure defining a combustion chamber, an inside opening, and an outside opening, wherein the combustion chamber is viewable from the inside of the structure through the inside opening and from the outside of the structure through the outside opening. The fireplace also includes a combustion air plenum system coupled to the combustion chamber enclosure to supply fresh air from the outside to the combustion chamber and an exhaust opening defined by the combustion chamber enclosure for exhausting exhaust air from the combustion chamber to the outside of the structure.

Abstract: A high efficiency gas fireplace unit having a heat exchanger is located in a room in which the heat from the gas fireplace is not wanted. An air duct is connected to the heat exchanger and has a termination point in a room or area remote from the gas fireplace unit. During a heat dump or heat transfer mode of operation, an induced draft fan in an air duct is activated by a remote switch thrown to cause room air to be sucked through the heat exchanger and passed through the air duct and dumped in a remote area so that the fireplace heating effect is nullified or neutralized allowing the fireplace to be operated with or without an air conditioning system.

Abstract: A firebox cabinet comprising a front panel, two side panels and a top panel is disclosed, the cabinet mounting flush onto a firebox having a mounting flange. The front panel contains an opening corresponding to the front firebox face, and two recesses surround this opening, the first adapted to receive the mounting flange, the second adapted to provide clearance for fastening members. The front panel locks onto the mounting flange, and the cabinet is preferably of modular construction whereby the components are joined together with self-interlocking joining means.
Abstract: A draft operated fireplace insert may be used to circulate heated air from one room to another or from the exterior of a building into the interior. The fireplace insert is fitted so that a set of louvers are located over a ventilated ash pit of the fireplace, permitting air to be selectively introduced into the combustion zone of the fireplace. Air is circulated through a channel extending beneath a floor plate and behind a rear plate of the fireplace insert. Alternately, air is drawn through fuel-supporting hollow andirons extending beween the floor plate and the rear plate. A vertically shiftable damper plate controls the flow of air through the channel and the andirons.
