Abstract: A heat and flame control assembly for a grill or other cooking appliance. The heat and flame control assembly includes a main heat plate and a slider plate disposed above the main heat plate. The main heat plate includes openings that allow direct heat to be provided to the food. The slider plate is movable with respect to the main heat plate, and also includes opening. When direct heat is desired, the slider plate is movable to align the openings in the slider plate with the openings of the main heat plate. However, when indirect heat is desired, the slider plate is movable to cover the openings of the main heat plate.
Abstract: A fireplace assembly is disclosed and includes a smoke chamber, a firebox, a throat in fluid communication with and linking the smoke chamber and the insulated firebox and a divider positioned within said throat and defining a front air channel and a rear air channel within the throat. The fireplace assembly of the present invention offers reductions in particulate emissions when compared to traditional open-burning fireplaces and has comparable particulate emissions to wood stoves and built-in wood stoves.

Abstract: A pre-built fireplace has a housing with an outlet for combustion gases and an open front for viewing the inside of the fireplace. A hinged damper and a hinged lintel extension are suspended from the inside of the fireplace. The damper and lintel extension are pivotally secured to each other so that when the damper is open, the lintel extension is in place to deflect combustion gases, and when the damper is closed, the lintel extension is pivoted substantially out of view.
Abstract: A double walled fireplace insert is shown with an inner firebox and an outer shell to provide convection air channels between the parallel walls of the inner and outer units. A front panel is integral with the outer shell, and it covers the front of the insert. This front panel has room air intake vents that open into the said air channels, and warmed air outlet vents that open into the room to be heated by this fireplace. There is a circulating fan positioned within the convection air channels for governing the air movement through the said channels.
