  • Patent number: 10746408
Abstract: A portable camping stove/fire pit has a cylindrical combustion chamber having a bottom member and circularly configured vertical side wall which extends upwardly from the bottom member and terminates in a top edge. The circularly configured side wall has a plurality of spaced apart vertically oriented slots, where each of the slots extends from the exterior of the combustion chamber into the interior. The circularly configured side wall has a plurality of vertically aligned louver members disposed in a spiraling configuration about the combustion chamber, where each louver is disposed tangentially to a respective vertical slot. During combustion within the combustion chamber, a flow of air is drawn past the plurality of vertically aligned louver members, through the slots into the interior, thereby forming a vortex as combustion occurs within the combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 8893703
Abstract: A combustion chamber may include an upper and a lower chamber. The chambers may be separable to aid in loading fuel and removing spent fuel. The cross-section of the upper combustion chamber may be less than the cross-section of the lower section. Charcoal or other biomass fuel may be added into the lower combustion chamber and may be supported by a grate. Oxygen may be fed into the combustion chamber through a plurality of apertures that may be substantially shielded from direct line of site of the fuel bed. The upper combustion chamber may further include an annular constriction, to aid in constricting the view factor between the cooking vessel and the fuel bed. The constriction may also aid in radiating energy back to the fuel bed.

Abstract: A heat exchanging coil is immersed in water in a heating pod heated over a fire or other heat source. Flexible tubing connected to the coil transmits heated water or other fluid under pressure from a water pump in a reservoir connected to the tubing. Loops of the tubing pass through various items used in outdoor activity including sleeping bags, tents, heaters, bowls, chairs, and even a shower. The heated water is pumped intermittently in a continuously recirculating flow through the system from the heating coil through the item(s) and back again through the heating coil. A timer connected to the pump allows flow of the heated water bolus at any desired timed interval. • Patent number: 4161940
Abstract: The prime objective of this invention is to direct and control the heat produced on the top of any portable heater measuring on the top 6 to 12 inches in diameter and using gasoline, kerosene and propane gas.Heat is directed up to 180 degrees by the use of a centrally perforated base flange and two side flanges that move in and away from the base flange. When the flanges are attached to the heater in the handle holes normally provided by the manufacturer a unique tunnel effect is created and moves up and down as required and the holes in the center of the base flange allow proper air circulation resulting in efficiency and effective heat pattern.
