Abstract: A linear drain for providing a centered drain opening without moving a drain outlet is disclosed. The linear drain includes an ingress assembly defining at least one ingress opening. An egress assembly defines a channel configured to covey liquid to an egress opening. The egress opening is offset from a channel midpoint of the channel and is configured to be in communication with the drain outlet. An attaching element connects the ingress assembly with the egress assembly. The attaching element is configured such that an ingress assembly midpoint of the ingress assembly is configured to be positioned in a plurality of different final locations relative to the egress opening when the centered drain is in a fully assembled configuration.

The mounting plate engages, by break-off tabs, a securing strap, a flange plate, and a centering plate. The mounting plate, securing strap, flange plate and centering plate are made from a single piece of sheet metal.

Abstract: A flue securing apparatus providing a planar metal plate having a flue hole therein and a tab of the metal plate extensive within the flue hole. The tab having a locating hole positioned at a juncture of the tab and one edge of the flue hole. A sheet metal strap is coplanar with the plate and joined thereto by mutual sheet metal attachments. Grooves positioned at the edged of the plate define comers of a roof hole so that a flue is positionable according to code. A step-by-step method is taught of using the plate as a template for cutting the roof hole and for securing a venting flue in place within the plate.

Abstract: An insertable gas conversion unit for insertion into existing wood burning fireplaces comprises an insertable gas fireplace conversion unit having a fire box combustion chamber and a gas burner mounted therein. The combustion chamber is covered with a decorative glass door. The conversion unit comprises a first coupling unit which is connected to the chimney of the exhaust outlet of the existing fireplace and further comprises a second coupling unit which is connected to the exhaust gas outlet of said fire box of said conversion unit. Said first and second coupling units telescopically fit one into the other during the assembly and insertion of the gas fireplace unit in the existing wood burning fireplace so as to provide a gas fireplace conversion of a wood burning fireplace without requiring any custom fitting or parts.

Abstract: A method for installing a poured flue adapter within a fireplace is disclosed which comprises providing a plate to be received within the fireplace, the plate having a central aperature within which is positioned a slip connector having a cylindrical portion for connection with the flue of a fireplace insert and a flange which rests against a gasket on the top side of the plate surrounding the central aperture, attaching the flange of the slip connector through the gasket and through the plate, securing two U-bolts to the upper side of the plate for being embedded within a cementitious material, and positioning the plate within the chimney and applying the cementitious material to the upper side to secure the plate assembly in position. A poured flue adapter useful in the foregoing method is also described.

Abstract: A ceramic stove that may be supplied in kit form includes a base frame, a cast iron firebox secured on the base frame, a top frame attached to and surrounding the top of the firebox, and ceramic panels extending between and held by the frames in spaced relation from the firebox. The ceramic panels are "ship-lapped" relative to each other and are not cemented or otherwise positively attached to each other. Logs may be fed as fuel into the fire box door from one side of the stove allowing longer logs to be burned. The logs rest on a grate which includes a "shakable" portion for shaking ashes onto an ash pan located below the grate. A separate, small door into the firebox is provided for starting the fire and that door is covered by another, safety door which also closes the space through which the ash pan is removed for emptying. An outer screen gate is provided to overlie the firebox doors and the entire side of the firebox.

Abstract: An airtight steel stove having a dripless top or rear flue collar and cover plate assembly is disclosed. The stove is provided with similar openings in a top wall and a rear wall. Interchangeable flue collar and cover plate assemblies allow the stove to be used either as a top flue or rear flue type by placing the flue collar and cover plate assemblies as desired. The flue collar has an inside diameter sized to receive a stove pipe therewithin. This eliminates drippage of creosote and other similar products of combustion onto the outside of the stove. Instead, such materials are returned to the interior of the stove.

Abstract: This device consists primarily of a lightweight base to which by leg members, is secured adjustably, a firebox above which is the main heating chamber. The device includes an external pipe with a damper for introducing air into the breathing chamber for burning charcoal or other fuel. The fresh air pipe of the device is secured fixedly to the upper air intake pipe which encircles the exhaust pipe of the device, the exhaust pipe being extended through a window or other opening within a dwelling.
