Abstract: A surgical device is disclosed, which has a loading unit having a cartridge assembly, anvil assembly, and a stapling drive member with a flange that engages at least one of the cartridge assembly and anvil assembly, the loading unit having a body portion; and a mechanical feature on the at least one of the cartridge assembly and anvil assembly, the mechanical feature being arranged to be engaged by the flange, the mechanical feature being indicative of an aspect of the loading unit. The mechanical feature can indicate the staple line length, staple size, type of loading unit, and/or whether the loading unit has been fired, for a surgical stapling device.
Abstract: A surgical stapler including one or more visual indicators is provided. The surgical stapler includes a body and a stapling assembly positioned at a distal portion of the body. The stapling assembly includes a cartridge assembly and an anvil assembly. An alignment pin is mounted on the stapling assembly and configured to engage the anvil assembly. A visual indicator of engagement of the alignment pin with the anvil assembly, clamping and/or stapling can be provided.
Abstract: A stabilizing belt for use by a person in need of assisted mobility or in recreation, the stabilizing belt comprising a pad, a belt to secure the pad to a wearer, and a pair of handles attached to the pad. The pad may be uniquely contoured to provide support and comfort for the wearer. A strap may be provided for added security and comfort. The belt may further comprise handle supports for reinforcement, a cover for durability, and a pocket for versatility.
Abstract: This application is directed to a surgical stapling device for performing circular anastomoses. The surgical stapling device includes a handle portion, an elongated body portion and a head portion including an anvil assembly and a shell assembly. A tactile indication mechanism is also provided for notifying a surgeon that the device has been fired and for notifying a surgeon that the anvil head has been unapproximated a distance sufficient to permit the anvil head to tilt.
