Abstract: An improved prophylactic device is disclosed. The attachment of a sealing device prevents possible leakage and slippage while the proper dimensioning of the attached sealing device promotes safety along with improved performance.

Abstract: A condom has a body, a sperm cell extending forward from the body and a vertical narrow flat neck between the body and the cell for the sperm to pass through in the cell. The sperm cell has an oval shape, the lower portion larger than the upper portion and the height is longer than the neck so that the sperm entering the cell may stay in the lower portion without few possibility to return through the neck to the body. Besides, a groove is provided at the front bottom of the body, conforming to the male sex organ.

Abstract: A prophylactic device is described which is adapted to be worn by a person to prevent the transmission of disease and sperm during sexual intercourse. The device may be adapted for use by a female person or by a male person. The device includes an elongated hollow pouch which has an open end and a closed end. The pouch has a thin wall member which is flexible and elastic. A continuous flange member is attached to the open end of the pouch and extends outwardly around the opening in the pouch. Attachment straps secured to the flange attaches the device to the person wearing it. The device may be in the form of a garment worn by the person.

Abstract: A contraceptive device wherein a condom having a rolled portion is positioned between a pair of sheets which are secured together around the edges thereof to form a package for the condom, the condom being provided with a pair of strips positioned on opposite sides of the condom and each having one end helically rolled into the rolled portion of the condom and the other end thereof extending toward and secured to the sheets at the edges thereof. The strips, which are pulled to unroll the condom, and the condom are provided with sufficient give that the package can be torn into two parts and the condom pulled out of the package without premature unrolling. A tear guide extends across the package at a position on the package coordinated with slack in the strips.

Abstract: A vacuum assisted condom applicator is provided made out of a suitable plastic material in the form of a rigid, or semirigid, double walled tube, open at one end and closed with a spherical cap on the other end to define an inner space. An internal space provided between the double walls of the tube and the cap is connected to the inner space by means of many small holes. A lower part of an outside wall surface of the invention is equipped with a normally closed membrane valve, which includes a push button release. The spherical top of the invention is equipped with a membrane valve which is closed and sealed by the factory at which a condom is prestretched and packed within the double walled tube. Each individual condom is factory prestretched and evenly lined along an inner surface of the double walled tube and held in place by a vacuum created in a space between the double walls of the tube.

Abstract: A unitary coital protective garment, comprising a groin covering panel formed of a flexible, resilient, liquid-impenterable material, and a penile sheath integrally formed with the groin covering panel, having a closed distal end, and formed of flexible, resilient, liquid-impenetrable material, integrally leak-tightly joined at its proximal end to the groin covering panel to enable penis insertion into the penile sheath, with the panel being circumferentially continuous around the proximal end of the sheath at its integral junction with the panel. Wrap-around, athletic supporter, apron, and panty-types of construction of the garment may be variously employed. The garment of the invention provides enhanced protection to the wearer and coital partner, and may be advantageous in reducing the risk of transmission of venereal and/or immunosuppressive diseases.

Abstract: A sensory transmitting membrane device having a flexible base material including a plurality of solid or hollow projections integrally connected thereto and extending from opposite sides of the membrane. The projections on one side of the membrane are offset from the projections on the opposite side of the membrane and are positioned so that an edge of the base of a projection on one side of the membrane is in proximity to the opposite edge of the base of a projection on the other side of the membrane, whereby a linear motion of one projection in a direction parallel to the membrane results in a similar motion by any cooperating projections, to thereby enhance the transmission of tactile sensations from one side of the membrane material to the other side. The sensory transmitting device is particularly useful in latex or rubber surgical gloves, finger cots or condoms.

Abstract: A thin-walled, condom-like tubular protective device for protection against the transfer of infectious matter during sexual intercourse is disclosed. The condom-like device has an open end a collar-shaped outwardly extending portion with a ring-like member for radially stretching the collar and has an inner diameter which is sufficiently large to permit movement of a penis with respect to the protective device during coitus.

Abstract: A new kind of condom provided with a cap is disclosed. The cap is integrally attached into an arcuate top portion of the main portion of the condom. This cap is protruded considerably long, and the bottom of the cap covers almost the whole area of the head portion of male sexual organ in order to protect the head portion from being subjected to sensitizations and stimulation. With the thus constructed condom the female sexual partner receives added pleasure because of the extended portion, and the male partner can prolong the sexual pleasure due to the ejaculation restraining effect of the cap. Therefore, the device according to the present invention brings sexual satisfaction to home life, and assures the successful execution of family planning, as well as preventing veneral diseases including AIDS.

Abstract: A no hands contraceptive device wherein a condom having a rolled portion is provided with a pair of strips positioned on opposite sides of the condom, each of the strips having one end thereof rolled into the rolled portion of the condom and the other end thereof extending from the rolled portion of the condom such that when the strips are pulled the condom will unroll onto the user's penis without being touched by the user's hands. The strips have a width which is sufficiently great to cause the rolled portion of the condom to assume a generally elliptical configuration having a length to width ratio of at least 1.2 to prevent premature unrolling and the tangling of the condom which may occur when the condom partially unrolls prematurely.

Abstract: An electrically conductive condom includes a generally cylindrical protective sheath having an open end for receiving a penis therein and an opposite closed end, the sheath being made from a thin, elastic, electrically conductive material which may be formed from a non-conductive elastic material having electrically conductive particles embedded therein. The electrically conductive material is preferably a thin elastomeric material with small conductive particles, such as carbon and/or wsilver particles, embedded therein. A reinforcing layer may be secured to the open end of the sheath. Optionally, a retaining strap may be secured to the reinformcing layer for retaining the sheath on a person, and quick release is provided for releasably securing the retaining strap about a person so as to releasably secure the sheath on the person.

Abstract: A shield appliance including a shield support strap structure that fits over the lower end of a female user, and a non-porous, elastic shield member, detachably carried by the support strap member, detachably carried by the support strap structure, and positioned over the perineal area of the female use to protect against vaginal contact, and prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, during cunnilingus.

Abstract: A tubular prophylactic device and method is disclosed which provides for frictional stimulation of the male penis during copulation while simultaneously serving as an impermeable barrier for the prevention of disease and for birth control purposes. In one form the device consists of a pleated collapsible tube with an extended length from the open end to the closed end of at least approximately twice the length of the erect mature human male penis. The additional length allows the penis to move relative to the prophylactic device during copulation, with the prophylactic device remaining stationary with respect to the wall of the female vagina. In another form the device is characterized by an inwardly folded sleeve that engages the penis and provides for sealing and an excess length that allows for movement of the end of the penis relative to the device when in use.The method is characterized by relative movement between the glans of the penis and the membrane of the device during use thereof.

Abstract: A unisex condom to be worn as an underpant type garment with pocket or shaft type depressions or tubular extensions in the lower front and lower rear. During use the tubular extensions can be inserted inside the lower body cavities, vagina and anus or may be reversed or turned inside out for placement as a covering or exterior liner for a penis. This total covering of body parts will more fully protect the user from contacting or spreading disease as the result of sexual activities.

Abstract: Condoms are disclosed of the type having a main sheath portion closed at a distal end and open at a proximal end thereof, which are amenable to construction from thermoplastic elastomeric materials. In one preferred aspect, such condoms have an annular-shaped sealing element, formed of an elastic material, circumscribing an interior opening of smaller size than the proximal end opening of the condom, and joined at the outer periphery of the sealing element to the main sheath, at or in the vicinity of the proximal end opening. Such construction thereby provides a membrane dam in the proximal segment of the condom to enhance its effectiveness as a contraceptive and to minimize the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases. Also disclosed are various condom manufacturing and processing apparatuses, as well as applicators for applying the condoms to the penis of a wearer.

A preferred embodiment of the device has an elongate tubular sheath formed of thin, fluid impermeable material, the sheath having a closed inner end portion and an open outer end portion. A resilient inner ring is connected to the inner end portion for anchoring the same to the cervix of a wearer. An outer ring is connected to the open outer end portion for maintaining the outer end portion in an open configuration.

Abstract: An article of clothing prevents transmission of sexually-transmitted diseases, such as infestation of Phthirius Inguinalis to the pubic area of the wearer. The article of clothing includes a codpiece-like element that has snaps thereon for releasably attaching a condom mounting plate assembly to the codpiece-like element. A condom is held in the plate assembly.

Abstract: A protective sheath of the type supplied with a portion of the protective sheath in a rolled up configuration for application to a member by unrolling the rolled up portion along the member includes application tabs interleaved with the rolled up portion of the protective sheath and available for gripping to pull the application tabs and unroll the rolled up portion along the member and assist in the application of the protective sheath to the member. In some embodiments, the protective sheath includes removal tabs extending along the applied protective sheath and available for gripping to pull the removal tabs and roll up a portion of the protective sheath to assist in the removal of the protective sheath from the member.

Abstract: A covering such as a suit, glove, condom or sheath forming a chemical barrier against harmful agents. The covering is flexible, stretchable, and relatively thin, and includes at least one relatively thin chemical barrier that will neutralize the harmful characteristics of the harmful agents. If an object cuts through the covering and into a person's skin or if a harmful agent tries to traverse through the covering, the chemical barrier will neutralize the harmful characteristics of the harmful agent so that the agent is neutralized either before reaching the person's skin, after reaching the person's skin, or both. Various methods of making the covering are also disclosed.

Abstract: A phosphoresent condom is provided with a bead of phosphoresent liquid located at front end between a pair of sheaths that are one inside the other so that when placed over a regular condom, pressure will brake the bead allowing the phosphoresent liquid to travel and glow between the total length of the sheaths. In another embodiment, the phosphoresent condom is fabricated out of a center layer of colored phosphor material between two sheaths of latex rubber so as to isolate the phosphor material when placed upon a penis.

Abstract: A covering such as a glove, condom or sheath for inhibiting the spread of contagious diseases such as AIDS and Hepatitis to a person contacting the body fluid of a person infected with the disease. The covering is flexible, stretchable, and relatively thin, and includes at least one relatively thin layer of material containing a sterilizing fluid capable of sterilizing the microbes that produce the disease. If an object cuts through the covering and into a person's skin, the sterilizing fluid will be released to help sterilize the infectious microbes in the region around the cut so that the microbes are rendered ineffective either before reaching the person's skin, after reaching the person's skin, or both. Various methods of making and using the covering are also disclosed.

Abstract: A male contraceptive hood which is adhesively secured to the penis, the hood being initially rolled up and the interior of the hood being free of adhesive until it is unrolled. The hood has a thin sheath which serves as the contraceptive device and an outer cylindrical member which is initially rolled together with the thin sheath. The outer cylindrical member has an adhesive on a portion of its outer surface, separated from the outer surface by a release agent, the adhesive being transferred to the inner surface of the sheath as the hood is unrolled onto a penis. The outer member can then be removed leaving only the thin inner sheath on the penis. A projecting portion is provided on the outer member for grasping the outer member to remove it.In a preferred form, a lubricant is disposed between the sheath and the inner surface of the outer cylindrical member. This lubricant remains on the outer surface of the sheath to facilitate removal of the outer member and also to aid in intercourse.

Abstract: Disclosed is a composite material adaptable to form bodily fluid protection apparel that can alert a wearer that a breach in the apparel has occurred. The apparel comprises a first layer impervious to bodily fluid and a second layer supporting the first layer. The second layer comprises a bodily fluid detection means indicating the presence of bodily fluid. A variety of apparel, including gloves and masks, can be formed. Any one of a number of bodily fluids, including blood, saliva, and semen, can be detected by the detection means.

Abstract: A device to prevent the spreading of Acquired Immmune Deficiency virus or AIDS comprises an elastic belt worn around the hips or mid-body portion of a male person. The belt has separated ends and button and button hole for fastening the ends together. A condom is monted to the belt by being secured between the button and the button hole.

Abstract: Male and female condoms for the prevention of the transmission of AIDS and other venereal diseases are provided having an apron portion for covering the pubic area, thigh portion for covering the perineum and genitalia portions. Straps integral with the condom or adhesives are used to then hold the condoms in place.

Abstract: A sterilizable drape for draping an ultrasound probe during an invasive ultrasonographic procedure, and a process of forming such a drape. An elongated sleeve member, having an open first end and a substantially closed second end with a circular fenestration therethrough, is formed of a sterilizable, flexible, fluid impervious material such as polyethylene. A pair of pull ties extend from the open end to aid in pulling the drape over an ultrasound probe and cable. A tubular member, having an outside diameter substantially equal to the fenestration diameter and formed of a sterilizable, flexible, resilient, fluid impervious material such as latex, is sealed to the sleeve member and extends through the fenestration. The tubular member has an open first end, communicating with the sleeve member interior through the fenestration, and a closed second end.

Abstract: Herein presented is an intravaginal device to shield against contact with communicable infections and diseases. The device is an elastic container. The container functions similar to a condom but it can completely cover both the female and and male genitalia. The device can contain lubricant jelly and its exterior is covered with lubricant jelly. The elastic nature of the device allows it to conform to the surface shapes of the vagina and penis as the penis penetrates and enters into the vagina. The device is easy to use and completely disposable.

Abstract: A vaginal stimulator adapted to be inserted into a woman's vagina to stimulate and constrict muscles therein and prevent the flow of urine through the urethra. A vaginal plug having a conical tip includes a power supply, pulse generator, on/off switch and intensity control switch mounted therein. Electrodes coupled to the pulse generator are positioned on an exterior surface of the vaginal plug. A disposable condom is unrolled over the vaginal plug and includes conductive elements which are positioned in electrical contact with the electrodes to carry the electric pulses to the muscles.

Abstract: The primary objective of the invention is to facilitate the application of a condom without entraining air into it, by making use of the arrangements and instrumentalities shown in the accompanying drawing as a preferred embodiment of the present invention and not as limitative thereto. In the preferred embodiment, the pocket at the tip of the condom from which air is forced out as by twisting is held in a slit cut in the center of a rectangular strip applied on the condom from one side of its base along the length to the tip and then back along to the other side of the base, and which is provided with pull tabs extended laterally from the center of said strip where the slit is out.Both ends of the strip are rolled in together with the base hem ring of the condom to form a tucked-up disk. To apply the condom to the penis, it is only required to pull the pull tabs backward along the penis to unroll the condom sheath over it while keeping the center of said tucked-up disk in close contact with the glans.

Abstract: A pubic shield is provided having an elastic tubular sheet attached to a substantially frusto-conical structure at the relatively smaller diameter of the frusto-conical structure. The frusto-conical structure forms a shield member having substantially two stable positions, a storage position and a use position. The shield member is in the use position when the tubular sheet extends away from the frusto-conical member. Use of the pubic shield, alone or with a bioadhesive, provides an enhanced prophylactic effect over that of a typical condom.

Abstract: A condom is provided for enhancing feeling and stimulation on the part of the male by allowing the condom to move, e.g., by a sliding action on the surface of the penis during intercourse. Typically the distal end of the condom is frictionally related to the vagina by weakly bonding the condom to the vagina as by means of a gum-like adhesive agent or by means of a multiplicity of minute fibers bonded on the outside surface of the condom or both. The condom near its open end is held tightly against the base of the penis and, if desired weakly bonded thereto by means of a removable adhesive to form a tight seal.

Abstract: A new and useful contraceptive-prophylactic condom is provided which, by means of a novel configuration and a medical grade adhesive, forms a leak-free seal with the tip (glans section) of the male sex organ. This invention eliminates the need for the roll-down hood present in a conventional contraceptive-prophylactic devices, providing increased user pleasure and reduced risk of unwanted pregnancy and venereal disease. Because the roll-down hood is eliminated, the breakage problem associated with conventional condoms can also be substantially solved without sacrificing user pleasure by manufacturing the condom of the invention from a thicker material.

The invention includes a tampon-like lubricated applicator having a soft, broad tip portion received within the closed distal end, and a tubular handle extending distally therefrom. The applicator is adapted to facilitate vaginal insertion of the condom, with the retaining ring having a sufficient diameter to prevent the proximal end from passing into the vagina.

Abstract: A drainage device for urine, the device being of the external or condom catheter variety and incorporating at least one adhesive-surfaced foamed tape bonded to the inner surface of a flexible catheter sleeve member formed into a catheter roll. The foamed tape, or a plurality of foamed tapes, extend away from the catheter roll and are provided to adhesively attach to the penis to prevent a displacement of the penis from an intended position within the device as the catheter roll is unrolled over the penis.

A thin, flexible, multi-layered tape is interposed between successive turns of the rolled torus with such layers, all adhering to each other and to the catheter member, comprising a first adhesive layer, a second adhesive layer, and a highly-stretchable elastomeric layer disposed between the first and second adhesive layers.

Abstract: A prophylaxis suitable for women is configured as wearing apparel. The apparel comprises a panty having an upper fabric portion and a lower portion. The lower portion includes a thin flexible liquid impervious membrane which registers with and covers the front and rear crotch area of the wearer. A closed ended tubular extension is formed of one piece with the membrane and is adapted to be inserted into the wearer's vaginal cavity.

Abstract: An improved condom which includes a thin-walled, elongated, resilient tubular condom of rubbery impervious material which is sized to jacket the penis of a wearer and a public shield to overlay the public area of a wearer about the penis and structure on the proximal end zone of the condom and on the neck about a central opening on the public shield to accommodate labyrinth type sealing between the proximal end of the condom and the shield to prevent exposure during sexual intercourse and wherein the shield, on its inner surface confronting the wearer is provided with an adhesive means for releasably attaching the shield to the public area surface.

Abstract: Thin-walled, high-strength prophylactic sheaths fabricated from elastomeric polymer materials are augmented along the border at the open end with a resilient material having a 100% tensile modulus substantially lower, preferably lower by at least about 75%, than that of the sheath material. This facilitates the rolling of the edge and stretching of the sheaths for purposes of application without compromising the high degree of sensitivity in terms of heat and sensation transmission associated with the thin-walled sheaths themselves.

As sheath (14) is unrolled, adhesive (24) is released from outer layer (28) and adheres to inner layer (26). Upon pressing sheath (14) to a penis (12), a leak-free bond is created.
