  • Patent number: 10282963
Abstract: A system collects and stores data from a source at a high resolution and/or a high data rate (“more detailed data”) and sends a low-resolution and/or downsampled version of the data (“less detailed data”) to a remote server via a wireless network. The server automatically analyzes the less detailed data to detect an anomaly, such as an arrhythmia, earthquake or failure of a structural member. A two-tiered analysis scheme is used, where the first tier is less specific than the second tier. If the first tier analysis detects or suspects the anomaly, the server signals the data collector to send more detailed data that corresponds to a time period associated with the anomaly. The more specific second tier analyses the more detailed data to verify the anomaly. The server may also store the received data and make it available to a user, such as via a graphical or tabular display.

  • Patent number: 9615761
Abstract: Electrode impedances on a body of a subject are measured by connecting a sense electrode, a reference electrode and a return electrode to the body, using the sense electrode to deliver a test current from a current source to the body of the subject, and measuring the potential difference between the sense electrode and the reference electrode. The impedance of the sense electrode on the body is measured in accordance with the measurement of the potential difference between the sense electrode and the reference electrode.

  • Patent number: 9612290
Abstract: Reducing or avoiding noise in measured signals of a tested battery cell(s) in a battery power system is disclosed. A battery monitoring device(s) coupled to a tested battery cell(s) applies test current pulses at a predetermined frequency to place an effective alternating current (AC) load on the tested battery cell(s). The resulting AC voltage signal generated across the tested battery cell(s) is sampled at the frequency of the test current to convert the AC voltage signal to a direct current (DC) voltage signal to be measured to determine the state-of-health of the tested battery cell(s). To avoid or reduce noise in the DC voltage signal, a noise spectrum of noise signals at defined frequencies induced on the tested battery cell(s) is determined. The battery monitoring device sets the frequency of the test current pulse at a determined reduced-noise frequency to avoid noise signals being present in the DC voltage signal.

Abstract: A method for performing an automated medical diagnosis of a patient based upon a patient's signs/symptoms/findings which are input by a user/heath care provider and then further analyzed to then output a listing of high probability differential diagnoses/diseases and a low probability differential diagnoses/diseases that the patient may have. This analysis assists health care providers in providing a fast and early indication of potential conditions based upon an analysis of a patient's signs/symptoms/findings.

Abstract: A patient hydration system including an infusion device for administering hydration fluid to a patient, and a hydration fluid measurement device responsive to a source of hydration fluid, a patient urine output measurement device. A controller is responsive to the hydration fluid measurement device and the patient urine output measurement device. The controller operates the infusion device, in response to the patient urine output measurement device and the hydration fluid measurement device, to hydrate the patient based on the patient's urine output. The controller also monitors the operation history of the infusion device thereby providing redundancy in the measurement of the amount of hydration fluid administered to the patient.

Abstract: In an electrocardiography measurement method and device, a signal processor determines a baseline value, a maximum wave amplitude value, and a minimum wave amplitude value in an electrocardiogram signal. When the signal processor determines that a difference of the maximum wave amplitude value minus the baseline value is less than a difference of the baseline value minus the minimum wave amplitude value, the signal processor performs a correction process for correcting the electrocardiogram signal.

  • Patent number: 9005119
Abstract: A system and method for providing computerized, knowledge-based medical diagnostic and treatment advice. The medical advice is provided to the general public over networks, such as a telephone network or a computer network. The invention also includes a stand-alone embodiment that may utilize occasional connectivity to a central computer by use of a network, such as the Internet. New authoring languages, interactive voice response and speech recognition are used to enable expert and general practitioner knowledge to be encoded for access by the public. “Meta” functions for time-density analysis of a number of factors regarding the number of medical complaints per unit of time are an integral part of the system. A re-enter feature monitors the user's changing condition over time. A symptom severity analysis helps to respond to the changing conditions. System sensitivity factors may be changed at a global level or other levels to adjust the system advice as necessary.
