    Abstract: A medical instrument holding apparatus and related methods are disclosed. The apparatus includes a medical instrument container. A medical instrument holding platform is positioned within the medical instrument container, wherein the medical instrument holding platform has a textured surface. At least one marking is positioned on the textured surface. When a quantity of light emitted from a lighting fixture is applied to the textured surface, a reflection from the quantity of light may be prevented.
