Abstract: The present invention relates to a heat management system which utilizes a device that provides for indirect multifaceted heating. The said device creates at least two regions of varying pressure within the system, hence enabling airflow through the device from the area of higher pressure to that of lower pressure. Furthermore, the system of the device creates at least two regions of varying temperatures, thus minimizing heavy burn by cooling the heated air passing through the system, and in particular through the burning smokable material.

Abstract: An apparatus to automatically ignite herbs in a water pipe. The apparatus includes a cap dimensioned to engage a bowl piece of a water pipe and provide a restricted air path to the bowl. A pressure sensor within the cap senses a pressure change response to air being drawn through the air path. Responsive to a signal from the sensor a controller drives an igniter to ignite the herb within the bowl.

The shank tube is inserted into the shank tube receiving cavity and the mouthpiece tube is inserted into the mouthpiece tube receiving cavity. The spherical body, when placed over a standard beverage bottle such that the shank tube extends into the bottle interior, forms a substantially air tight seal with the inner rim of the bottle top. Operation as a water pipe is thereby effected.

In one embodiment of the pipe the bowl assembly includes an outer bowl removably mounted on the stem and concentrically spaced around an inner, combustion bowl. The outer bowl has an upper cylindrical portion and a lower skirt portion with a notch therein for removably receiving the stem portion. The combustion bowl has a lower, centrally located vertical smoke hole in communication with a short, longitudinally extending passageway located below the smoke hole. The passageway is in fluid communication with the stem and its short length results in minimal fluid accumulation therein.

One of the chambers is a burning chamber wherein the tobacco to be smoked is burned, beneath the burning chamber is a screen, a control valve that varies the diameter of the passage between the burning chamber and a cooling chamber underneath this valve. A second screen separates the cooling chamber from a third chamber, called the filtering chamber. The filtering medium is the same substance being smoked and it is packed and held inside the filtering chamber with a third screen that is placed at the end of the filtering chamber. The third screen in turn is held in place when the bowl is connected to the stem. Finally, a mouthpiece is connected to the stem. The ends of the bowl piece may be interchanged, thereby providing two choices for the size of the burning chamber to be used depending on the amount of substance to be smoked.

The mouthpiece can advantageously include a valve for preventing moisture (saliva) from passing through the mouthpiece back into the pipe body.
