Abstract: A smoking article is formed from two component parts. These parts are a rod comprising an aerosol-forming substrate and a removable cap. The removable cap can be coupled to the rod in two configurations. In a first configuration, the removable cap is coupled to a first end of the rod and a heat source located at or near a second end of the rod heats the aerosol-forming substrate to generate an inhalable aerosol. In a second configuration, the removable cap is coupled to the second end of the rod and at least substantially covers the heat source. The smoking article is arranged in the second configuration for disposal.

Abstract: A hookah stem, hookah, and process for adjusting a hookah stem are disclosed. The hookah stem includes a down tube that is affixed within the hookah stem and longitudinally adjustable. The hookah utilizes the hookah stem with varying bases that may even include hookah bases with hookah base depths less than a potential plunge depth of the down tube.

Abstract: The present invention generally relates to mouth pieces for hookahs. Specifically, this invention relates to a mouth tip for a hookah that is constructed in a manner to allow for the hands free operation of the hookah. Embodiments of the present invention include a mouth tip or mouth piece for a hookah that comprises an oral attachment means configured to allow retention of the mouth piece in the mouth of a user without requiring the use of the hands of the user.

Abstract: A personal mouthpiece that can be used for smoking devices is provided. Such a mouthpiece includes a pipe portion and a core portion. The pipe portion may be configured to receive smoke from a smoking device and to direct the smoke to a mouth of a user. The core portion may have a first end configured to removably attach to the smoking device and a second end configured to removably attach to the pipe portion. During an exemplary use, smoke from the smoking device travels through the core portion prior to receipt at the pipe portion.

Abstract: A biodegradable cigar tip comprises an open upstream end configured to surround a downstream end of a cigar, the cigar tip having a mouth end optionally comprising a substantially flat cross-section, the cigar tip comprising a molded biodegradable material. The biodegradable material may consist of pressed cellulosic fibers with an outer surface of the cigar tip coated with a plastic film, wax coating or other waterproof coating such as a sugarcane pulp film. Alternatively, the biodegradable material may consist of an injection molded biodegradable resin such as a starch-filled resin wherein the starch-filled resin includes polypropylene or polyethylene and non-soluble starch selected from corn, tapioca, wheat, potato, plant sourced oligomer, or plant sourced polysaccharide or mixture thereof.

A cylindrical partition wall (10) concentric with the main side wall (4) of the housing (2) extends into the main chamber (8) from the first end wall (5) and defines a primary combustion chamber (11) and a secondary combustion chamber (12).

Abstract: A smoking pipe having a cleaning valve includes a pipe body with an internal bore. A combustion chamber is communicably connected with the bore. A cleaning valve is mounted adjustably within the bore. The valve includes a longitudinal channel and the valve is alternatable between a first position wherein the channel is communicably interconnects an orifice in the mouthpiece of the pipe and the combustion chamber and a second position wherein the channel is fully exposed so that it may be quickly and completely cleaned.

Abstract: A tobacco filter device includes a plurality of filter units superimposedly rechargeably filled in a sleeve member, having a bowl member connected to an outer end (smoking end) of the sleeve member and a mouthpiece connected to an inner end (mouth end) of the sleeve member, whereby upon smoking of tobacco or a cigarette as loaded or inserted in the bowl portion, the filter unit or units positioned on an outer portion of the sleeve member adjacent to the smoking end, after being saturated with smoking waste including tar and nicotine, may be pushed outwardly and discarded from the outer end of the sleeve member as thrusted and urged by a fresh (new) filter unit (or units) as recharged into the inner (mouth) end of the sleeve member, thereby still keeping use of those filter units not yet saturated and loaded in the rear portion of the sleeve member, without wasting the useful filter units.

Abstract: A pipe assembly is provided to accommodate the specific filter preferences of the pipe smoker. The pipe assembly includes a bowl, a stem and a mouthpiece. A cylindrical mounting aperture extends into the end of the stem remote from the bowl, and a connecting passage joins the mounting aperture to the tobacco receiving cavity in the bowl. The mouthpiece has a proximal end with a passage therein and a distal end that can be slidably received in the mounting aperture of the stem. The mouthpiece further includes a filter receptacle that communicates with the passage extending into the proximal end of the mouthpiece. The filter receptacle is dimensioned to accommodate wide prior art filters. The pipe assembly further includes a tubular filter adapter with an outside diameter for slidable engagement in the filter receptacle and an inside diameter dimensioned to receive narrower pipe filters.

Abstract: A two-piece smoking pipe vaporization chamber with directed heat intake and vapor tube extending in a manner easily adaptable to be compatible with and used in conjunction with common smoking pipe designs currently in use by replacing the standard smoking pipe bowl used for smoking. Temperature controlled hot air flow from a widely available heat gun aimed into the directed heat intake is used to enable the controlled heating of the commonly smoked materials until the active constituents reach their boiling, or vaporization points and are vaporized out of the plant material and delivered in a manner preferred over the combustion of such commonly smoked materials.

Abstract: A device comprising a filter and a rod which is capable of insertion into a cigarette cord that has a preformed conduit extending concentrically along the longitudinal axis of the cord. The rod having a plurality of perforations along its entire length, allowing for a fresh air supply to be sucked into the rod and then intermingled through the tobacco. The filter being available in various numbers of filtering ring elements which allow for a selection of filtering strength. The device is made of materials that would allow it to be reusable. As the cigarette cord burns down, the increased supply of fresh air will result in a reduction in the percentages of particulate matter (tars, nicotine,etc). By varying the number of filters, the taste will selectively be controlled by the user.

Abstract: A mouthpiece for smoking instruments which is structured to be anatomically correct, in that it is structurally compatible with the mouth parts of a user when the mouthpiece is situated in the user's mouth to one side thereof. The mouthpiece is a laterally asymmetrical structure which conforms to the shape of the side of the mouth. The tip is acutely angled in relation to the mouthpiece axis which lateral asymmetry locates the tip so that it does not interferingly affront the tongue and cheek thereby increasing comfort and teeth feel and the port of the tip is directed toward the tongue cavity thereby making inhalation easier and more efficient. The mouthpiece is vertically symmetrical so that by simply inverting the mouthpiece, it can be placed comfortably at either side of a user's mouth. The mouthpiece is preferred to include a groove adjacent the end for interfacingly receiving with the tips of the smoker's teeth.

Abstract: A smoking device is disclosed whereby smoke and other gases of combustion can be diluted with air to a pre-selected mixture before being inhaled by a smoker. This is achieved by the use of a carbureting tube which can introduce a metered amount of air into a smoke chamber and thereby dilute the smoke to any desired concentration. The smoke is drawn into the smoke dilution chamber by a piston moving towards the outlet end of the chamber, and then pumped out of the smoke dilution chamber by reversing the motion of the piston. A water chamber may also be included to permit the smoke and other gases to be cooled prior to entering the smoke dilution chamber.

Abstract: A pipe stem replacement kit having a plurality of tenons of different diameters, each tenon having one cylindrical side and one threaded side, a pipe stem having at one end a mouthpiece and at the other end a threaded aperture to receive the threaded end of a selected one of said tenons, sandpaper to sand down the tenon to fit the pipe shank aperture and wax to apply to the tenon to ease the insertion of the tenon into the pipe shank aperture.

Abstract: A smoker's pipe comprises a bowl portion having a tobacco-receiving cavity below which is formed a transverse, tapering socket. A passageway interconnects the cavity with the socket. A tapering end portion of a stem part is a friction push-fit into the socket whereby the bowl portion can be rotated about the end portion of the stem part. The stem part includes a bore communicating directly with, and forming an extension of, the passageway. A primary reservoir in the lower regions of the bowl portion communicates with the bore and the passageway but is not in the direct path between the bore and the passageway, thereby keeping to a minimum the internal surface area of the pipe between the cavity and the bore. Thus the primary reservoir stores unwanted liquid in the pipe. Rotation of the bowl portion relative to the stem portion seals off the cavity from the reservoir and bore.

Abstract: An improved smoker's pipe of the dry bowl type. The pipe is comprised of a hollow stem having a mouthpiece mounted at one end and a bowl assembly mounted at the other end. In one embodiment of the pipe the bowl assembly includes an outer bowl removably mounted on the stem and concentrically spaced around an inner, combustion bowl. The outer bowl has an upper cylindrical portion and a lower skirt portion with a notch therein for removably receiving the stem portion. The combustion bowl has a lower, centrally located vertical smoke hole in communication with a short, longitudinally extending passageway located below the smoke hole. The passageway is in fluid communication with the stem and its short length results in minimal fluid accumulation therein.

Abstract: This invention is an improved smoking appliance in the form of a pipe having a filter holder which is readily openable for insertion and removal of the filter and yet is compact when in the closed position. Also an improved filter medium is provided for entrapping high percentage of tar and nicotine thus greatly reducing the amount of the substances which are drawn into the body of the smoker. This filter medium is chemically treated to further reduce the bite normally associated with smoking and particularly pipe smoking.

Abstract: A key chain pipe assembly having a bowl, stem, and storage container which forms a cylinder when assembled in one mode for attaching to a key chain or the like and the parts can be disassembled and reassembled in another mode to form a pipe for smoking.

Abstract: An integral smoking pipe is provided. The pipe includes a burning chamber or bowl, a tobacco storage chamber and a resin collecting chamber or clean-out area. The resin collecting chamber and the burning chamber communicate through one or more common apertures. The smoking aperture or mouth piece communicates with the burning chamber via the resin collecting chamber. Suitable caps or stoppers are provided for each of the chambers. The caps in at least one of the chambers, e.g. the burning chamber, may include a tine for cleaning the apertures between the burning chamber and the resin collecting chamber.
