Abstract: A seat panel for assembly into a rear surface of a seat assembly includes a light assembly which generates task lighting directed to a task area and of sufficient brightness to be useful in performing a task within the task area. The light assembly is selectively actuable to emit light through an aperture defined by the seat panel in a defined light pattern to illuminate a recessed space in the seat panel. The seat assembly when configured as a forward seat assembly of a vehicle provides task lighting for a passenger seated rearward of the forward seat assembly, to illuminate a task area which can include one or more of the exterior surface of the seat panel, a leg space between the forward seat assembly and the passenger's seat assembly, and/or a seat space generally including a portion of the upper leg and/or lap area of the passenger.

Abstract: A forward looking light sensor is described herein. The sensor includes a first light blocking material; a second light blocking material; and a light sensor with a first surface and a second surface. The first light blocking material is disposed on the first surface of the light sensor and the second light blocking material is disposed on the first surface of the light sensor, and the first light blocking material and the second light blocking forming an aperture.

Abstract: An ashtray system for a cigarette, cigars, and pipes is provided. The ashtray system comprises a base with a clock tower secured to the base and extending in a general direction away from the base. A clock is mounted in the clock tower. A pair of ashtrays are formed in the base. A plurality of cigarette/cigar holders are formed in the base for holding cigarettes/cigars in a substantially vertical position with each holder extending into at least one of the ashtrays. A plurality of apertures are formed in the base for holding cigarettes/cigars in a substantially vertical position. At least one storage area is formed for holding a pack of cigarettes, a pipe, tobacco, or several cigars. At least one drawer compartment is formed for holding a cigar-cutter; a pipe-tamper and cleaner; and lighters.

Abstract: A gas lighter with safety mechanism comprising an inner frame mounted on top of a fuel reservoir and provided with a valve for releasing fuel contained in the fuel reservoir; an outer frame mounted on top of the inner frame and having two supports each of which is provided with a L-shaped supporting hole including a vertical section and a horizontal section; a lever sandwiched between the two supports and pivotable with respect to the outer frame to actuate the valve; a flint disposed between the two supports; a friction wheel rotatably sleeved on a shaft between the two supports, the shaft are movably supported in the supporting holes, the friction wheel is separate from the flint when the shaft is moved to the vertical sections while contacts the flint to enable to generate sparks by rotating the friction wheel when the shaft is moved to the horizontal sections.

Abstract: A puff-on-demand cigarette smoking apparatus for decreasing unnecessary tobacco burning as well as decreasing the generation of side stream smoke. The portable cigarette smoking apparatus can be used to smoke traditional cigarettes and includes a reusable lighter box housing including an aperture into which an end of a cigarette to be smoked is adapted to be inserted into. After the cigarette is inserted through the aperture, the cigarette is directed into a cigarette extinguishing sleeve. The cigarette smoking system includes an actuable trigger which is operably connected to a cigarette advancing mechanism for advancing the cigarette a preset distance along the cigarette extinguishing sleeve into the lighter box housing upon actuation of the trigger. As a result, a portion of the cigarette is advanced beyond the cigarette extinguishing sleeve.

Abstract: A multi-purpose accessory is a substantially parallelepiped rigid casing (1) able to house a packet (3) of cigarettes and a cigarette lighter (4). The casing has a major surface with a shaped depression (6) for resting the cigarette. An end portion of the casing has a cylindrical body (7) in which a cylindrical container (11) is inserted. The cylindrical body (7) has a longitudinally slotted hole (9). The cylindrical container has a longitudinally slotted aperture (13). The cylindrical container (11) is axially rotatable between a position in which said slotted aperture (13) faces said slotted hole (9), and a position in which it does not.

Abstract: A smokeless cigarette filter device has a barrel fabricated out of molded, heat resistant durable material. A structure on a first end of the barrel is for covering the mouth and nose of a smoker. An element is provided for holding a cigarette within the barrel, so that a butt end of the cigarette can enter the mouth and nose covering structure. A component is provided for lighting a distal end of the cigarette within the barrel when the smoker inhales. An assembly is on a second end of the barrel, for filtering harmful first and second hand smoke coming from the lit cigarette and the smoker, so as to prevent the smoke from ever reaching the outside air. An apparatus is provided for extinguishing the cigarette within the barrel, when the smoker is done smoking the cigarette.

Abstract: A tiltable ashtray, e.g. for motor vehicles, includes an ash receptacle, a support housing for a lighter and a lighter which are removably disposed in a receiving housing that is tiltably pivotally supported in an external frame receivable in a recess. The ash receptacle, receiving housing and lighter can be removed from the receiving housing and replaced with a storage bin. Detachable clip connectors hold those elements in the receiving housing enabling the bin to replace the other elements, and vice-versa. A contact assembly on a circuit board in the receiving housing is connectable to an electrical system. It includes an electrical contact for the cigarette lighter and an additional contact connection to an electric light in the receiving housing.

Abstract: A tobacco pipe combustion maintenance accessory for maintaining continuous burning of tobacco in the bowl of a pipe once the tobacco is initially ignited. The device includes a generally flat body having a curvilinear concave reflective surface on one side of the body. When the body is held above the pipe bowl, the curvilinear surface, properly positioned, reflects heat and light waves emitting from the portion of burning tobacco back at the tobacco in focused or concentrated form to ignite the unlit portions of the tobacco at the point where the reflective rays focus. By manipulation of the device in very close proximity above the rim of the pipe bowl so that the rays are reflected downardly into the tobacco, the collected rays at their point of focus maintain the tobacco burning. The curvilinear surface is preferably a spherical segment and may also be structured similar to a fresnal lens having reflective concentric surfaces to achieve relative flatness and a shorter focal length.

Abstract: A gas-fueled cigarette lighter having front and rear walls defined by plates which are joined together by a plurality of ribs to resist pressure produced by the gas, wherein the lighter has a flat ultra-thin format which lends itself to insertion between the inner and outer wrappers of a standard cigarette pack so that the smoker is never at a loss for a light and the inserted lighter functions as a stiffener to prevent crushing of the pack. The lighter is constituted by a card-like body having a shallow reservoir therein filled with liquified gas. Fitting into a corner cut-out in the body is a lighter assembly whose thickness is not greater than that of the body. The assembly includes a valve-controlled nozzle coupled to the reservoir and an adjacent thumb wheel against which a flint is pressed such that when the wheel is turned it abrades the flint to generate sparks that ignite vapor emitted from the nozzle.

Abstract: An arrangement for holding cigarettes has a lower part with an inner hollow and an open end, and an upper part provided with a holding member for holding a plurality of cigarettes. The upper part is movable relative to the lower part between a closed position in which the upper part closes the open end of the lower part and the cigarettes are accommodated in the latter, and an open position in which the upper part is retracted from the lower part and the cigarettes are located outside the latter so as to be exposed.

Abstract: Gasification device for a gas lighter: A container has an adjustment body installed to it and has a burner above the adjustment body. A porous mass is located in the container. An integral bottom closes the container. Grooves through the bottom permit liquid flow through the bottom, across the porous mass around the center needle projecting up from the container bottom and the gasified liquid exits through the burner.

Abstract: A method of making a cigarette having a core of one grade of tobacco and at least one substantially circumferential wrapping of a second grade of tobacco which comprises applying to a moving base or conveyor a first stream of the core tobacco and a pair of second streams of the wrapping material, one stream of wrapping material being on either side of the first stream. The three streams are then deposited onto a moving support which is at an angle to the base such that one stream of wrapping material is deposited upstream of the core material which, in turn, is deposited upstream of the other stream of wrapping material. The composite layer thus formed is then formed into a tobacco cord in a known manner. The latter is then formed into cigarettes in the usual way.A modification of known cigarette-making machines is described which is particularly adapted for carrying out this method.
