Patent number: 10118185Abstract: A speed retarding device for a rotary nozzle includes a hollow cylindrical housing and a rotatable tubular shaft rotatably carried by the housing. The shaft has an enlarged drag sleeve portion carried in the housing and a shaft end extending through at least one end of the housing to receive a rotary nozzle thereon. A pair of support bearings support the drag sleeve portion of the shaft in the housing. An annular inner seal between each of the support bearings and the drag sleeve portion defines a cavity within the housing receiving a viscous fluid confined within the cavity. The support bearings are separated from the cavity confining the viscous fluid and an outer annular seal on the shaft adjacent each support bearing prevents environmental contamination such as water and debris from entry into the support bearings.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2015Date of Patent: November 6, 2018Assignee: STONEAGE, INC.Inventor: Joseph A. Patent number: 4444211Abstract: The invention disclosed herein is a smoker's implement which serves as both a scoop and a bowl reamer for a smoking pipe. It is a small, one-piece body tapered at both ends, and is made of relatively thin sheet metal or the like, of dimensions adapted to be readily inserted into the bowl of a smoking pipe. This device has two portions, one being the scoop portion and the other being the reamer or cutting portion. The scoop portion (which also serves as a handle for the device when it is being used as a bowl reamer) has smooth edges which uniformly taper toward its end from a point approximately midway of the length of the body. Preferably this portion has a relatively broad, shallow slightly V-shaped depression extending along the axis of the body from its end. The other portion of the body, namely, the reamer or cutting end, has extending inwardly from its end over part of its length, stepped sides or cutting edges.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 1982Date of Patent: April 24, 1984Inventor: Wallace J. Patent number: 3930509Abstract: A smokers' pipe reamer comprises a hollow body, a forward portion of which has three longitudinally extending radial grooves and bearing slots, each extending radially from a respective one of the grooves to the interior. In each of the grooves a reamer blade is guided, this blade having a U-shaped appendage protruding into the interior. Three pins held in the forward portion of the body extend through the openings of respective ones of the appendages to permit radial and swiveling motion of the respective reamer blades. Radial movement of the blades may be adjusted by a pin having a conical tip adapted to bear against the radially innermost portions of the blade appendages. The pin is adjustable along the longitudinal axis of the reamer body by means of screw threads and a guiding slot, thereby limiting radially inward movement of the appendages and the blades while permitting the blades to swivel about each of the three pins.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 1975Date of Patent: January 6, 1976Assignee: K.
