Abstract: A portable extinguisher for an aerosol generating article having a solid heat source is described. The extinguisher includes an inner element extending between a first portion and an opposing second portion and having a longitudinal axis. An outer shell completely surrounds at least a portion of the inner element. The outer shell is slidable along the longitudinal axis of the inner element between an open position and a covered position. The first portion includes a cavity sized to receive a solid heat source of an aerosol generating article. The cavity is accessible in the open position and surrounded by the outer shell in the covered position.

Abstract: A cigar tube is provided having an ash catcher and an ash collection cap, for receiving and containing lit or extinguished cigars for later consumption an elongated tubular member having opposite first and second ends and defining a hollow inner cavity disposed between the first and second ends adapted to receive and contain a cigar. The ash catcher is disposed within the inner cavity and has a generally planar body positioned transverse to the tubular member and has a plurality of apertures. A plurality of truncated cones project from the planar body such that each truncated cone preferably aligns with each respective aperture to provide substantially unidirectional ash passageways from the inner cavity to the ash collection cap. In a preferred embodiment, the truncated cones have a length sufficient to provide air space between the cones and the ash collection cap for the collection of ashes and dissipation of heat.

Abstract: A portable cigar holder for holding both a lit cigar and an extinguished stub at the same time, configured to be mounted on a support in moving vehicle. The cigar holder comprises a vertical heat-resistant rubber tube with a resilient tubular sidewall and an open upper end, a metal cup connected to or inserted in a lower end of the tube, and a pair of splits formed in opposing sides of the resilient sidewall. The splits define horizontally spaced vertical cigar-clamping slots with resiliently serrated side edges, the slots terminating at their lower ends above the rim of the metal cup.

Abstract: A writing instrument holder includes a base with a connector configured to connect the base to a hat. A first magnetic material is coupled to the base. A writing instrument sleeve is configured to wrap around a writing instrument and includes a second magnetic material. The first magnetic material is attracted to the second magnetic material. When the writing instrument sleeve is wrapped around the writing instrument, the writing instrument releasably secures to the base.

Abstract: A cap for extinguishing a smoking article is provided, including a hollow cap body having an opening configured to receive a combustion zone of a smoking article, the cap body including an intumescent heat reactive material configured to deform in response to heat from the combustion zone such that at least part of the cap body fits tightly against the smoking article to substantially prevent a supply of air to the combustion zone.

Abstract: The utility holder was designed to allow stored markers an extended life of working effectiveness. The design has one or more cylindrical recesses with a tapered bottom in which a dry-erase marker cap may be held in place in order that a dry-erase marker may be placed inside the cylindrical recess upside down, snapping into the dry-erase marker cap. The upside down placement of the markers in the magnetic whiteboard utility holder allows the markers maximum life. There are one or more magnets on the back surface of the utility holder which allows for it to adhere to a magnetic whiteboard. The utility holder also has a cuboid recess, which allows for a dry-erase eraser to be stored.

Abstract: In one general aspect, an apparatus can include a container including a lid, and a cradle configured to support a device. The apparatus can include a lifting mechanism operably coupled to the cradle and the lid. The lifting mechanism can be configured to move between a storage position where the cradle is disposed in the container to a dispensing position where the cradle is disposed outside of the container. The lifting mechanism can be configured to move between the storage position and the dispensing position in response to moving the lid. The lifting mechanism can include a first link aligned parallel to a second link when the lifting mechanism is in the dispensing position and when the lifting mechanism is in the storage position. The first link and the second link can both be within the same plane when in a position between the storage position and the dispensing position.

Abstract: A portable beverage container holder having a tubular upper member having inner and outer walls concentric to each other. The tubular member has a top and bottom portion, the bottom portion having a diameter greater than the top portion forming a tapered tubular member. The top portion diameter is of sufficient size to receive a beverage container and preferably includes an insulated separate liner. The holder has a lower base having a top and bottom surface, preferably with a weight inside and surrounding sidewall. The bottom portion of the tubular member is mounted to the top surface of the base. The sidewall protrudes above the top surface of the base to form a circumferential channel surrounding the lower base to capture any spillage from the container. The bottom surface of the base element has mounted thereto a means for preventing the holder from sliding on a surface.

Abstract: An apparatus for connecting a writing implement to a glassboard, whiteboard or the like that has a housing adapted to be connected to a writing implement. The housing has a side surface with an opening formed therein and a recess extending from the opening into the housing. A magnet is disposed in the recess and has a first pole at the opening. The magnet provides a magnetic field in a direction away from the side surface of the housing. The apparatus enables a side periphery of a writing implement coupled with the apparatus to magnetically couple with the glassboard, whiteboard or the like in a predetermined orientation regardless of the initial orientation of approach of the writing implement.

Abstract: The invention provides for a shell having four sides including a front side and a front side having contact points to simulate a host component where the number of contact points and spacing between the contact points on the front side of the shell simulate the number and spacing of receptacles located on the host component so that the shell may be temporarily populated with accessories and the accessories capable of being serially removed and serially attached to the receptacles of the host component. The shell may be carried in a shipment container along with the accessories for shipping to the location of the host component. The accessories may include cable harnesses and have fiber optic connectors temporarily mounted to the component simulation shell during shipping and upon arrival at the host component, the connectors may be removed in a one-to-one matching sequence between the component simulation shell and the host component where the connectors are finally mated.

Abstract: A cigarette snuffing, cutting and storage system for extending the life of a cigarette through multiple smoking events has a generally cylindrical storage receptacle with a storage tube with a storage lid. The storage lid is pivotally connected to a storage tube top and rotates about an axis located on and in line with a storage tube side wall. A storage lid bottom has an annular cutting blade for severing a cigarette located, inside. The annular cutting blade has a cutting edge located on an interior edge that has a shape of a circle. For operation, a cigarette is inserted into the storage receptacle from a storage tube bottom. The cigarette extends through a storage component cavity and into a storage lid cavity. Upon rotation of the storage lid, an end is removed from the cigarette using the cutting blade, preparing it for use.

Abstract: A holder for a smoking article may be inserted into the ground or golf tee holder on a golf cart, or secured over and about the upper opening leading into a garment pocket or golf bag. The holder is used to protect the smoking article from exposure to poisons and injurious chemicals used in fertilizers, and weed and fungus killers, in addition to water, dirt and debris that also cause damage to a golfer's cigars or cigarettes. A golfer can place a cigar or cigarette between the jaws of the holder, and insert the shaft into the ground or golf tee holder, thereby allowing the golfer to easily insert a tee into the ground, remove a club from the golf bag, take a shot, or drive a cart without holding a cigar or cigarette in his/her hand or mouth, and without having to be concerned about the position or location of a lit cigar or cigarette, and preventing any water, grass, dirt, chemicals or debris from adhering to the smoking article.

Abstract: A handheld litter disposal device for temporarily storing and containing cigarette ash, butts, and other litter. The litter disposal device includes a cap, a storage system, a pivot system adapted to permit the cap to move between the closed and open positions, and an extinguishing system containable within the storage system and adapted to extinguish the lit end of a cigarette. In the open position, ashes, butts, and unused portions of cigarettes, cigars, and/or other similar products can be transported from the outside to the inside of the litter disposal device and vice versa. In the closed position, however, cigarette ash and butts cannot enter or exit the storage system of the litter disposal device. The storage system has a rounded bottom or outer surface to prevent the litter disposal device from maintaining an upright position.

Abstract: A snubber having a cigarette chamber and cap that releasably holds a cigarette inserted into the chamber during extinguishment or snuffing that communicates with an ash trap that accumulates ash from an extinguished cigarette. One or more vent ports allow the cigarette and cap to displace atmosphere within the chamber during insertion preventing blowback and ash scatter while facilitating ash collection. The cap can include an orifice through which a cigarette held by the cap can be smoked. When inserted into the chamber, a user can blow through the orifice to purge ash from the cigarette into the trap. Purging can also remove stale air and smoke from the cigarette and snubber helping clean the cigarette for later reuse. When removed from the chamber, a user can blow through the one or more ports to purge accumulated ash from the trap blowing it out of the chamber cleaning the snubber.

Abstract: An ashtray assembly for temporarily storing and containing rubbish, such as the ash and butts of cigarettes and cigars. In one aspect, the ashtray assembly can include a base assembly and an insert assembly. The base assembly can comprise a flexible body. The flexible body can include a storage container adapted to receive the rubbish. The flexible body can be made of a flexible material, such as a silicon-containing polymer, such that the flexible body can be manufactured by a molding process. Because the flexible body can be a silicon-container polymer, it may discolor when a lit end of a cigarette makes contact with the base assembly. The insert assembly can comprise an extinguishing member adapted to extinguish cigarettes, cigars, or both. The extinguishing member is preferably made of a generally non-marking and rigid material. The insert assembly can provide structural integrity and can be removably secured within the base assembly.

In one exemplary embodiment, the means to connect includes threads within the top cap and the bottom portion or alternatively a lip within the top cap. The portable cigarette snuffer may also include a clip on the top cap. The means to snuff may include a cigarette encasement for storing a cigarette within snuffer.

The device may include a visual and/or audible and/or olfactory warning component which alerts the user in response to a proximate ember. This provides one or a combination of a visual, audible, or olfactory alert to the user that the ember has reached a predetermined point. The device is preferably in the form of a sleeve frictionally engageable around the smoking article, but can also may be engaged upon or impregnated into a wrapper of the article's cylinder. Alternatively, the sleeve type device may be disposed within the wrapper. Alternatively the indicator material may also be in the form of selectively placed integrated or stick-on patches.

Abstract: A cigar holder assembly is provided for golf carts utilizing biased clasps to hold one or more cigars in a vertical position over a removable ashtray. Temporary and permanent means for attaching the cigar holder to a golf cart are provided, and a swivel mount is provided between the attachment and the cigar holder to allow the cigar holder to maintain a substantially vertical orientation.

A flared inlet extends from the top member and into the base member. Extinguished combustible articles, such as cigarettes, drop into a metal cavity disposed near the bottom of the base member. Securement devices are provided to safeguard the cigarette disposal assembly whereby the top member may be secured to the base member and the entire disposal assembly to a fixed object.

Abstract: A portable extinguishing ash container with pivoting lid is provided. The ash container features a flame-resistant fabric pouch which accommodates a metal container. The pouch is filled with a noncombustible granular material such as sand or pebbles for enveloping an outer surface of the ash container. A hinged circular, transparent lid allows the smoker to close the apparatus securely during transportation and to keep discarded butts and ashes inside. A small release button on the front causes the lid to open automatically when the button is pressed. Being transparent, the lid allows for various pictures, photographs, logos, or word phrases to be placed thereunder to provide for a visually appealing appearance. A pivoting cigarette platform is provided to permit resting support of a cigarette. A leather strap is included to facilitate transportability.

Abstract: A cigarette saver is a device having two end portions and an opening to a channel in the first end portion. A lit cigarette may be inserted into the channel of the cigarette, extinguished and stored for subsequent smoking. A cigarette saver may be sold inside a crush proof box or soft package along with cigarettes.

Abstract: A cigar cutting and snuffing tool comprising a cutter sub-assembly having a tubular cutter and a pusher element slidingly mounted therewithin, together with a snuffer barrel tightly mounted on the outside of the cutter member. A cigar can be placed into the barrel and brought into contact with the tubular cutter, which can then have a plug of tobacco cut from its cap end. The plug of tobacco is held within the tubular cutter until expelled from the cutter by moving the pusher element within the cutter. The snuffer barrel is sized to receive cigars of a series of ring sizes. When a lit cigar is desired to be extinguished, the cigar is inserted and seated within the barrel, with the lit end brought up against and impaled upon the cutter assembly. The tight mounting of the snuffer barrel on the tubular cutter creates an air tight compartment when the cigar is seated within the snuffer barrel.

Additionally, the fire extinguishing substance containing chamber may constitute a means for extinguishing cigarettes in table ashtrays of an otherwise conventional form.

This is to facilitate the guidance and entry of the lit end of a cigarette into the chamber. A supplemental layer of heat resistant material on the interior surface of the housing.

A second hollow cylinder constructed of a heat resistant material is concentric to the first cylinder and mounted therein. A plurality of partitions extend between the closed ends of the first and second cylinders and are positioned to form a plurality of dead air spaces for inhibiting a heat exchange between the closed ends. The device includes a third hollow cylinder having an open end and a closed end and having a diameter greater than a diameter of the first cylinder for releasably receiving the first cylinder therein.

According to a preferred embodiment, the invention comprises the combination of a housing member having an upwardly extending port formed thereon and a cigar holder member interconnectable therewith. The housing member is designed and configured to be positioned within an ashtray and has formed thereon at least one aperture for providing oxygen to a lit cigar received therewithin. The cigar holder member is designed to nest within the port formed on the base, and has formed thereon at least one aperture that is designed and configured to align with the aperture formed upon the base member. In use, the respective apertures formed upon the housing and cigar holder members may be selectively aligned with one another to define a resultant vent aperture of variable size which selectively controls the amount of air that can access the cigar to thus cause the cigar to burn at a controlled rate.

To this end, the device comprises a wrapper (B) which comprises a total of three layers, i.e., an extinguishing inner band (15) of metallized film, a diametrically shrinkable intermediate band (16) of heat shrinkable film bonded to the innerband (15), and a heat insulating outer band (18) of pliable paper or nonwoven fabric bonded to the intermediate band (16), the inner and intermediate bands (15, 16) being embossed with parallel ridges (22) in rows which extend along and lengthwise of the cigarette (C) when the wrapper (B) is wrapped around the cigarette (C), thereby holding the inner band (15) substantially in linear contact with the circumferential surface of the cigarette (C).

Abstract: A cigarette packet includes a closable compartment for housing fresh cigarettes and a closable housing within the package containing a plurality of fire-extinguishing members. These members are positioned within the housing and are attached to the package. Each of these members is made from a flame resistant and fire-extinguishing material and has a shape in which a burning end of a cigarette butt may be inserted to extinguish the butt. In one preferred embodiment of the invention, the members are removable caps housed in the lid of the flip-top type lid of the package with the caps adhering to and sealing the end of the cigarette when extinguished thereagainst.
