  • Patent number: 6145510
Abstract: A cigar extinguishing device which includes a circular top component for tightly holding a burning or smoldering cigar in a vertical position. On a side of the top component is a substantially horizontal ventilation slot having a sliding cover for controlling the burn rate of the cigar. This arrangement also allows the cigar to be extinguished without physically pressing the end into a typical ash tray; thus allowing the cigar to burn evenly and prevents it from unraveling. The ash tray has a removable, lower base unit allowing the ash collecting portion to be easily removed and emptied.

  • Patent number: 6089236
Abstract: A cigar holder for controlling the burn rate thereof. According to a preferred embodiment, the invention comprises the combination of a housing member having an upwardly extending port formed thereon and a cigar holder member interconnectable therewith. The housing member is designed and configured to be positioned within an ashtray and has formed thereon at least one aperture for providing oxygen to a lit cigar received therewithin. The cigar holder member is designed to nest within the port formed on the base, and has formed thereon at least one aperture that is designed and configured to align with the aperture formed upon the base member. In use, the respective apertures formed upon the housing and cigar holder members may be selectively aligned with one another to define a resultant vent aperture of variable size which selectively controls the amount of air that can access the cigar to thus cause the cigar to burn at a controlled rate.

  • Patent number: 5906211
Abstract: A cursory inspection of the device reveals a small "Funnel" but because the funnel (or device) is plugged at the base (or bottom) the name "Funny Funnel" was developed. Unlike a true funnel, the back is flat and higher than the rounded front. The highly visible area on the inside of back will be referred to as the "area of promotion," which may be used for advertising, logos, etc. Vehicle use requires a Velcro.RTM. "button" for support while home or industrial use requires a supportive base. In both instances the "funnel" can be easily removed for cleaning, etc. A burning cigarette is easily deposited because of the large opening at the top. The cigarette will extinguish itself in seconds and can be relit. The "funnel" shape of the device, the use of the Velcro.RTM. button and the "area of promotion" are new a new concept for cigarette extinguishers.
