Abstract: The present invention relates to a device and method for rolling a paper tube around ground material to form a cigarette. In an embodiment of the present invention, the device comprises an openable chamber configured to receive ground material, the chamber having a first end and a second end; a rolling assembly disposed within the chamber, the rolling assembly receiving paper and forming a paper tube around the ground material, the rolling assembly having a first end and a second; and a first gear assembly at the first chamber end and communicatively connected the first end of the rolling assembly, and a second gear assembly at the second chamber end and communicatively connected to the second end of the rolling assembly, the first and second gear activating the rolling assembly when rotated to roll the paper around the ground material forming a cigarette.

Abstract: Cigarette rolling and forming devices include parallel cylinders extending between a pair of support plates, and a looped belt trained therearound. One cylinder is moveable relative to the other for alternately receiving and compressing loose tobacco into a tobacco rod with the belt. In some devices, a pair of slots allows movement of the cylinder, and guard plates are disposed to prevent tobacco from the belt from entering the slots. Some devices include two pairs of slots and two moveable cylinders. Some devices include a support trough disposed to prevent sections of the belt from contacting each other. Some devices include a folding device configured to engage and fold the edge of a piece of paper received between the cylinders and rolled around the tobacco rod. Some devices include a nozzle to retain a pre-formed tube and a pushing device adapted to push a formed tobacco rod into the tube.

Abstract: In a cigarette maker comprising a descent channel filled with shredded tobacco by a carding unit and with reclaimed tobacco by a conveyor, the shredded tobacco and the reclaimed tobacco are taken up and transferred by a toothed unit toward an ascent channel, from where both are attracted onto a belt by suction and formed into a continuous stream; the descent channel is split into two distinct portions serving respectively to admit the shredded tobacco and the reclaimed tobacco, whilst the toothed unit comprises a first and a second roller positioned to take up the shredded tobacco and reclaimed tobacco and operating in conjunction with respective impeller rollers.

Abstract: A cigarette filter assembly machine wherein a rolling unit is defined by a rolling drum and a guide drum coaxial with each other and connected to each other in angularly-fixed, axially-sliding manner; and wherein the rolling drum has a number of suction rollers (54) rotated, with respect to the rolling drum, by respective independent drive units; the guide drum has a number of semicylindrical cavities, each coaxial, and defining a relative rolling channel, with a relative suction roller; the suction rollers receive, with a first spacing, relative groups of component parts of a relative double cigarette; and each drive unit rotates the relative suction roller to roll the relative group inside the relative rolling channel and to extract a relative double cigarette from the relative rolling channel, and reverses the relative suction roller to release the relative double cigarette with a second spacing smaller than the first spacing.

Abstract: Cigarettes are manufactured on a machine that includes a filter tip attachment comprising a train of rollers with peripheral suction grooves, each proportioned to hold a single cigarette. The grooves are set parallel to the axis of rotation of the relative rollers and combine to establish a feed path along which the cigarettes are attracted and released, passing from one roller to the next and advancing through a succession of processing stations. To optimize the attraction and release steps, the cigarettes themselves are exploited in such a way as to create a chamber in each groove, compassed between the cylindrical surface of the cigarette and the bottom surface of the groove it occupies, and connected to the pneumatic circuits generating the suction.

Abstract: Successive cigarettes of a series of cigarettes, such as filter cigarettes, are transported sideways in the axially parallel peripheral flutes of a rotary drum-shaped conveyor to the inlet(s) of a straight or V-shaped rolling channel or of two successive straight channels defined by the rolling surface(s) of one or two stationary block-shaped rolling members and the external surface of an endless belt trained over several rollers and being at least partially confined in a recess or groove of the conveyor in such a way that the surface(s) of the rolling member(s) cooperate with the surface of the belt to roll successive cigarettes in the channel or channels about their longitudinal axes while one or more beams issuing from one or more lasers or other radiation source(s) impinge upon the wrappers of the cigarettes rolling in the channel or channels.

Abstract: Device for rolling of cigarettes with a flat basic structure open on the top, in which there is disposed a belt moving around a cylinder, characterized in that the cylinder is rotatably arranged in a slidable member alongside an upper edge of the basic structure, and that transverse to the direction of movement, under the belt, there is a recess which at its upper edge, terminates into flat tables.
