Abstract: Tent couplers include a pivot interlocking member and a bridged interlocking member. The bridged interlocking member comprises a bridge that extends between a tether-receiving portion and a tent support-receiving portion that includes a tent support receiver configured to couple to a tent support. The pivot interlocking member includes a tent fabric receiver configured to couple to a tent fabric. The pivot interlocking member defines a bridge-receiving aperture and an entrance slot interconnected thereto. Tent couplers are selectively configured between a linking configuration and an interlocked configuration. In the linking configuration, the pivot interlocking member is positioned for insertion and removal of the bridge from the bridge-receiving aperture via the entrance slot.

Abstract: A modular recreational and/or survival canvases are disclosed. Each canvas may be used alone or in combination with other canvases to provide shelter. Each canvas includes a base substrate including a plurality of fastener, a plurality of sleeves, and an outer fringe. In a refinement, the canvas may be of a shape such as a hexagon with alternating fasteners along its perimeter such that it may cooperate with one or more other modular canvases to form larger shelters. In one or more embodiments, the canvases may be combined with a construction block and one or more stakes.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an easily assembled and disassembled shade-providing structure, such as may be mounted to a playground assembly. The shade-providing structure comprises an outer frame defining an interior space and a canopy that may be positioned in that interior space. The canopy has one or more rods around its periphery, such as may be inserted through one or more pockets in the canopy fabric. Each of the outer frame and the rod(s) has a set of apertures configured to receive a locking fastener and a set of apertures configured to receive a jack screw or similar tensioning device. Accordingly, to assembly the structure, one or more jack screws can be used to provide the canopy with a desired tension and then locking fasteners can be used to secure the canopy to the outer frame.

Abstract: A height-adjustable canopy assembly that is capable of creating a desired shaded area without restricting a vehicle occupant's ability to enter, exit, control, and enjoy the vehicle. The canopy assembly includes a frame support that is secured to the vehicle via attachment points disposed between a seat and a rear portion of the vehicle. The frame support couples with a canopy support, which is adapted to span along a longitudinal length of the vehicle. A canopy cover attaches to the canopy support, providing a shaded area on the vehicle. The canopy support is adjustable with respect to the vehicle, in particular via a series of cord and cord locks that allow the occupant to quickly raise and lower the canopy support to change the shaded area to a desired set of dimensions.

In some embodiments, the central hub may define an interior space, in which wiring from the plurality of electronic game units may be easily accessed for installation, repair, and/or to change the operation of the gaming system. The canopy is supported by the elevated support beams to provide a shaded area. The game system includes a plurality of electronic game units mounted to the plurality of uprights. Abstract: In adaptive clothing, magnetic members engage to magnetically fasten a lower front layer and an upper front layer. A first magnetic member is provided in a housing having a base extending beyond the boundaries of the magnet. The base is sewn to fabric. The housing is secured in a placket to be affixed to a garment upper layer. A second magnetic member is placed in an interior enclosure of a lower front layer. A button or other component is secured to the exterior side of the upper front layer to provide the appearance of a buttoned placket. To close the garment, the first magnetic member is brought in proximity to the second magnetic member. The placket may be constructed as a separate unit and attached to the garment in a separate operation, allowing construction of the placket without manipulating the entire garment. Cuffs are prepared in a manner similar to the placket.

Abstract: Kits for retrofitting an all-terrain vehicle with a compact, collapsible awning system include a collapsible canopy having a plurality of securing elements, an attachment mechanism having a first end coupled to a first side of the canopy and a detachable second end, a pole configured to associate with any of the plurality of securing elements and to support the canopy, and a tie-down configured to associate with any of the plurality of securing elements and to extend the canopy such that when combined with at least the pole, the canopy forms an overhead structure. The second detachable end of the attachment mechanism can be associated with a connection point on the all-terrain vehicle, and when extended the awning can form an overhead shelter adjacent to the all-terrain vehicle, providing shade and/or temporary protection from the elements.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to an embedded interconnecting drive system. The drive system is used to deploy and retract flexible, roll-up panels away from or onto a roller drum as the drum rotates on its longitudinal axis. In this invention, a plurality of cogs, each comprising a semi-tubular recess and tapered shaft, interact with each other to induce the flexible panel to move in concert with the roller drum as the roller drum rotates, preventing the flexible panel from unraveling on the drum. The cogs compel the flexible panel to deploy away and downward from the drum as it rotates deployingly, and to retract onto the roller drum as it rotates retractingly. This invention discloses details of the cog and a complimentary annular lock disc used to secure the cog to a flexible panel. Further, this invention discloses a plurality of embodiments of the embedded interconnecting drive system.

Abstract: A protective enclosure or cab for an operator of a walk-behind or mechanical device, such as a snow blower, engine-driven snow thrower, ride-on tractor, or the like, is provided. The protective enclosure or cab includes an inflatable frame structure which supports a plurality of transparent, flexible windows or a single sheet of transparent material such as a curtain. When inflated, the protective cab is detachably coupled to the walk-behind or mechanical device and surrounds an operator of the walk-behind or mechanical device protecting the operator from the environment such wind, rain, snow or the like, while providing an unobstructed view of the surrounding environment. When deflated, the protective enclosure or cab can be folded into a small volume to be placed in a storage device which can be coupled to the walk-behind or mechanical device.

Abstract: A portable protective enclosure and a method of using the enclosure is presented. The enclosure may include a plurality of walls extending around and at least partially defining an interior space for being occupied by a user, and a top panel overlying and at least partially defining the space. The plurality of walls may include an entry wall and side walls. The entry wall may include a door flap moveable between open and closed positions. The side wall may include a window having a see-through material, and a window flap in a facing relationship with the window and moveable between open and closed positions. The enclosure may include a floor panel detachably joined to at least one of the walls by a fastener that is accessible from within the interior space, so that the floor panel is detachable from the walls from within the interior space.

Abstract: A portable sunshade or sunshade kit can include an expandable screen, a support rod, a connection spool, and/or a carry case. The expandable screen can have an outer wire loop that tensions a screen material and allows the screen to be folded into a collapsed configuration. The support rod can have a ductile core and a rubberized coating around the ductile core that grips a support object such as a chair or railing. A connection spool attached to the screen material can include a channel sized to at least partially receive the support rod. The connection spool can be adhered to the screen material. The carry case can be sized to receive the expandable screen in the collapsed configuration, the support rod, and the connection spool for ease of transport.

Abstract: Woven and knit substrates having juxtaposed notches with finished edges are disclosed. Such substrates can be used as opposed fastener tapes and fastener elements can be formed, woven, or otherwise added to the opposed fastener tapes in a known fashion. The notched fastener tapes permit the resulting slide fastener to be curved in-plane without buckling either of the opposed the fastener tapes out-of-plane. The finished edges maintain structural integrity of the woven or knit substrates, in stark context to prior art substrates having cut notches. Also disclosed are panelized substrates having curved apertures and incorporating disclosed slide fasteners.

Abstract: A system for adjusting tension on fabric panels between two structural members of a fabric panel structure is disclosed. The system includes a rib that extends outwards from the structural members, a first keder rail located adjacent to the rib, a second keder rail located opposite to the rib of the first keder rail, and a fastener that passes through apertures in the first keder rail, the rib, and second keder rail to secure the keder rails against the rib. Preferably, the fastener is adjustable to allow the keder rails to be opened and closed to assist with installing or replacing fabric panels. Alternate embodiments can secure one of the keder rails directly to the structural member without the use of the rib.

Abstract: The invention relates to a door opening and closing structure including a door plate, a transverse bar, a zipper and a pulling string. When a tension is applied on the pulling string and the tension is greater than a gravity of the transverse bar and at least a portion of the door plate, and the at least a portion of the door plate is driven by the transverse bar to move along the extension direction to form an opening. When the tension is less than the gravity of the transverse bar and the at least a portion of the door plate, the door plate is driven by the transverse bar to move along the gravity direction to reduce the opening.

Abstract: A convertible garment may be constructed from a material having a bulk section between opposing ends. The material may substantially encircle bands located at the opposing ends. Bundling strings may encircle the material near the ends with an adjustable and independent level of compactness. Additionally, connecting strings may be attached to the material at the ends for positioning the opposing ends of the material adjacent to one another. Compactness of the majority of the material in the bulk section may be adjustable relative to a desired coverage of a wearer. The material may be hemmed. Stitching may be included near the ends to supplement the bundling strips. The material may be a textile that is adjustable to cover a length of the wearer up to between shoulders and hips of the wearer. A method of using the convertible garment is also disclosed.

The disc comprises a central orifice and one or more holes. The central orifice is mountable to the boat seat post. The holes attachable to a mooring line. Further, the method comprises fastening the collar onto the boat seat post.

Abstract: A foldable, aerodynamic cover assembly for pickup truck beds which is user switchable between a closed aerodynamic configuration and a folded open configuration which allows the user access to the pickup truck bed. The aerodynamic configuration reduces vehicle wind resistance and drag, which increases fuel efficiency. The foldable, aerodynamic cover is comprised of a rigid folding frame with an outer cover. The outer cover is disposed over the frame and detachably connected to the base portion of said frame.

Abstract: A foldable tent includes a tent cloth, a plurality of support frame poles to support the tent cloth, and a tent top supporting device. The tent top supporting device includes a cover, a plurality of connection sleeves, and a plurality of inwardly concave recesses. The plurality of inwardly concave recesses is disposed at a peripheral side of the cover. Each recess includes a first side wall and a second side wall disposed on two sides of the recess, and an inner side wall adjacent a center of the cover. Each respective connection sleeve is flippably or rotatably disposed in a corresponding recess, and has one end connected to an end of a corresponding support frame pole. When the foldable tent is unfolded, a side wall of the other end of the corresponding connection sleeve comes into contact and matches with the inner side wall of the corresponding recess.

Abstract: An adaptable tent system is described. The adaptable tent system may include a base system having a rigid surface defining a perimeter edge and a canopy including a flexible membrane with a membrane edge and a canopy fastener, the canopy fastener extending along and fixably attached to the membrane edge, the canopy fastener adapted to mate with an interconnecting member fastener. The tent system may also include an interconnecting member including an interconnecting member body, an attachment member, and the interconnecting member fastener. The attachment member may be attached to the base member, so that the interconnecting member and base member are fixably attached together. The interconnecting member fastener may be configured to mate with any one of a plurality of different canopy fasteners so that when the canopy fastener and the interconnecting member fastener are mated, the interconnecting member and the canopy are connected.

At least one of the 1st slats comprises a 1st engagement part on its end face facing the 2nd slats and at least one of the 2nd slats comprises a 2nd engagement part on its end face facing the 1st slats, said 1st engagement part being able to be brought to engage with the 2nd engagement part such that the first cover is connected to the 2nd cover.

Abstract: An exemplary starshade comprises a tensegrity truss structure having a central hub with radially extending, telescoping booms. Telescoping tension struts connected to the central hub and booms provide a compressive force on the booms during final truss deployment. Opaque petals, not supported by the tensegrity truss structure prior to its final deployment, are each sequentially placed on and attached to the tensegrity truss structure in side by side position to form a concentric ring of petals spaced apart from the central hub. A fan fold covering, not supported by the tensegrity truss structure prior to its final deployment, is placed on and attached to the tensegrity truss structure to form an opaque, concentric inner ring about the central hub. An outer edge of the inner ring is adjacent an interior edge of the concentric ring of petals to block light from the petals to the central hub.

Abstract: A hunting blind with an adjustable opening is provided to increase the flexibility of the hunting blind when the hunting blind is used in various activities. One or more covers at least partially cover the adjustable opening to produce a modified opening. Some embodiments of the invention may comprise fasteners, cords, and other components to arrange the one or more covers in different configurations. Various embodiments of the invention may also have a pass-through feature in an exterior wall of the hunting blind that provide access to the external environment. This may be advantageous for objects such as tripods where one of the tripod's legs may extend through the pass-through feature so that the tripod may be positioned closer to the exterior wall, which saves space in the hunting blind.

In the first exemplary embodiment, the inner ends of the first and second pluralities of arch members are affixed to one another, and the main struts are affixed rigidly to the horizontal supports. In the second exemplary embodiment, first and second inner struts are affixed to the inner ends of the first and second pluralities of arch members, and the main struts are affixed rotatably to the horizontal supports. A canopy cover is affixed over the arch members and struts.

At least one connecting member on the enclosure is configured to selectively connect and disconnect at least the first side edge and the top edge of the hinged side all at the opening. The disclosure also provides a method of hinging the side wall of the portable shelter to an open position.

Abstract: A fastening device for installing a fitting or a holding clamp in a hole in a thin wall. The fastening device includes a head area with fitting parts attached thereto for clamping or enclosing a portion of the fitting or holding clamp between the head and the thin wall. The fastening device also includes a body area that proceeds from the head area and penetrates the hole in an installed condition. Proceeding from the end of the body area are two spring legs which are directed rearward toward the thin wall, and which are supported by sloping foot-like ends on two diametrically opposite, parallel edges of the hole. The fastening device forms guide strips which protrude laterally from the body area, and which are guided into suitable notches (between the opposite edges of the hole in the thin wall.

The shelter includes a plurality of legs, each leg having a column base attached to a first column which is attached to a second column. The first column is vertically adjustable relative to the column base, enabling the height of the legs to be adjusted. The second column has a projection for attaching to a roof. The roof has a pair of truss assemblies each configured to attach two legs, and each having an upper surface and a lower surface. The lower surface defines a plurality of spaced apart receptacles sized to receive the projection of the second column to secure the roof to the legs at various positions, enabling the user to alter the width of the shelter.

The stand body includes a plurality long umbrella ribs, a plurality short umbrella ribs, an upper canopy and a bottom canopy. Each of the long umbrella rib and the short umbrella rib have a first end and a second end. The first end of the long umbrella rib is rotatably connected with the upper canopy and the second end of the long rib is hinged at the second end of the short rib, while the first end of the short rib is rotatably connected with the bottom canopy. The upper canopy is placed in the middle of a vertical pole within the stand body. The bottom canopy is sheathed on the vertical pole and can move up and down. The spring member is placed above the upper canopy.

The top cover is pivotally connected to the tent frame and is movable in unison with the tent frame so as to be set on and covering the tent after the collapse of the tent frame. The ladder has a top end pivotally connected to one side edge of the base and is upward rotatable to be positioned on the top cover. The rigid top cover is included and the ladder and the tent base are coupled such that the top cover and the ladder are movable with the operation of the tent frame. The operation is simple and the use is easy.

Abstract: In one form, a security handbag is provided that includes an interior security panel assembly with a matrix of wires secured between a pair of material layers. The interior security panel assembly can be positioned intermediate the bag outside wall and a lining of the bag. A strap with security cable and a carabiner attachment device can be attached to the handbag. Methods for forming such security panel assemblies are also provided.

Abstract: Rope clamps and methods for attaching rope clamps to climbing structures are provided. Rope clamps illustratively comprises a clamp portion configured to be attached to a climbing structure, wherein the clamp portion comprises a clamp body, a cover, a rope path and a fastener. The clamp body is configured to engage a portion of the climbing structure. The cover is configured to engage with a front of the clamp body. The rope path extends between the clamp body and the cover. The fastener is configured to attach the cover to the clamp body. Further, at least one rope configured to enter the rope path at a first point, extend through the rope path and exit the rope path at a second point.

Abstract: The transportable building is made of side-by-side building sections mounted on parallel foundation beams. Each building section has a skate clamp mounted thereto for sequential sliding and clamping engagements to one of two foundation beams. In another aspect, each of the beams has a removable receiving end attached thereto. Each receiving end has a V-shaped trough on an upper surface thereof to facilitate the alignment of building sections onto the foundation beams during the assembly of the transportable building. In yet another aspect, each foundation beam has workable jacks at each end thereof and a series of self-adjusting jacks mounted thereto between the workable jacks for supporting the transportable building on an uneven ground surface.

Abstract: A float tent can include: a frame having a pool frame portion with a tent frame portion thereof over the pool frame portion; a tent having the tent frame portion, the tent having a closable opening; and a pool having the pool frame portion, the pool having pool sides dimensioned to hold at least 8 inches of water and having a pool base dimension sufficient for a person to lay in the pool without touching pool sides. The tent can include tent walls having an angle that inhibits condensation drip, the angle being with respect to the pool base, such as at least 4.5 degrees. The tent can include a material that is opaque. The float tent can include a heater configured to heat the water to skin temperature of the person. The float tent can include a water circulation pump and filter.

Abstract: Method for installation and replacement of a membrane and system for retaining membrane on a structure. A connecting member comprises at least one radial channel for receiving a first guiding strip of a membrane sheet further having a second guiding strip. A fastening mechanism is provided for adjusting tension in the sheet by controlling depth at which the connecting member is maintained within a top channel on a truss of the structure. The tension may be adjusted by applying torque to bolted screws maintaining the connecting member into the top channel. Replacing the membrane sheet under tension involves unfastening, at least partially, the connecting member from the top channel to remove tension in the sheet and removing the sheet to be replaced from the connecting member and a second connecting member maintained on another truss.

Abstract: A truck bed protector utilizes protective coverings and attachment brackets enabling installation within a truck bed. The protective coverings can be arranged in a variety of ways in order to protect either the inside of the truck or the outside. Further, with use of tent posts, the protective coverings can be used as a tent or as protection from the sun. The protective coverings can also be joined to cover cargo or be used for advertising purposes when covering the outside of the truck.
