  • Patent number: 5862827
Abstract: Invention relates to an environmentally protected, mobile and adjustable elevated platform, such as for observation, or as a hunting blind. The platform is supported on a mobile stand by plural telescopic legs, and a centrally positioned telescopic lifting mechanism. The observation enclosure is formed by wall panels hingedly secured to the platform, and a roof panel secured to one of the wall panels. Access means to the enclosure, in the form of a door and extension ladder, are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5622198
Abstract: A portable collapsible shelter comprises a floor, pairs of corner posts, a horizontal brace extending between and pivotally attached to the corner posts of each pair, and built-in seats. The floor, corner posts, braces, and seats are foldable between respective erected and collapsed modes. In the collapsed mode, each corner post is folded into a stack, with the stacks of each pair thereof being coplanar. The associated brace is initially at the top of the stacks of folded corner posts. The brace folds into a stack located coplanar with and between the stacks of the associated corner posts when the floor is folded to its collapsed mode. The seats fold with the corner posts and lie on the floor when the corner posts are folded to their collapsed mode. Locking devices selectively prevent and enable folding of the floor, corner posts, and braces.

  • Patent number: 5598668
Abstract: The invention is an adjustable building frame comprising a plurality of interfitting parts. The frame includes a base having a pair of opposing receiving surfaces and several parallel roof members received and connected by and between the receiving surfaces. The roof members are generally perpendicularly to the opposing receiving surfaces of the base. Each roof member comprises at least two telescoping sections which may be telescoped together or apart to adjust the length of the roof member. Increasing the length of each roof member of the frame increases the height and volumetric area defined by the frame, and decreasing the length of the roof members decreases the height and volumetric area defined by the frame. A flexible cover is attachable to the roof members by a plurality of clasps or a flexible but more rigid cover is attachable to the roof members by a series of bolts. The cover ideally overlaps itself, so that it will expand or retract as the height of the frame is adjusted.

  • Patent number: 5584311
Abstract: An internal, self-supporting, tent suppot framework. The collapsible framework includes a number of side and ridge support poles which mount to radially adjustable pole couplers. The couplers retain the support poles at preferred angular orientations in multiple wall planes as a support skeleton for an overlying fabric cover. Each coupler includes a pair of cast sleeves wherein a body piece includes a longitudinal bore, a projecting wing arm and a pair of hinge arms having transverse bores. A horizontal pole couples the hinge arms together in one plane, as a pair of other poles are supported to the longitudinal bores in a second plane at a splay angle established by the wing arms. The wing arms overlap and are retained with a fastener fitted between the arms.

  • Patent number: 5546971
Abstract: The shelter has a canopy supported by a frame made up of a pair of flexible lateral rods which are held parallel and apart by three horizontal struts. There is provision for disconnecting the struts from the lateral rods so that the frame may be stored compactly when not in use. A pair of upright poles support the upper end of each lateral rod and guys are attached to the lateral rods for bending them into an arcuate shape.

  • Patent number: 5499646
Abstract: A foldable tent is provided which achieves the desired stretch of a cloth tent body when fully pitched. The foldable tent includes a cylindrical center member comprising a top cylinder and a bottom cylinder detachably coupled to each other. A cylindrical slider having a notch on its inner surface is movably fitted over the center member. An elastic locking member is mounted in the to cylinder of the center member for locking the slider. The locking member has a locking projection snapping into the notch of the slider. A release mechanism for releasing the locking projection from the notch of the slider is received in the bottom cylinder. The tent framework further includes a plurality of ribs. Each the rib is hinged to a corresponding pipe frame and the slider at its opposed ends such that an angle formed between it and the top cylinder when pitching the tent is less than 90.degree.. This foldable tent is easily pitched and struck regardless of tent size.
