  • Patent number: 10697141
Abstract: The portable view barrier system is a privacy screen. The portable view barrier system is adapted for use with emergency service personnel. The portable view barrier system is adapted to protect the privacy of a patient from the view of traffic during an unfortunate event. The portable view barrier system comprises a plurality of mesh panels, one or more living hinges, and a plurality of weighted anchors. Each of the plurality of mesh panels is a screen the blocks the view of the unfortunate event from passing traffic. The one or more living hinges attaches an initial mesh panel selected from the plurality of mesh panels to a subsequent panel selected from the plurality of mesh panels. The plurality of weighted anchors form anchor points that anchor the interconnected plurality of mesh panels to the ground. The portable view barrier system is a collapsible structure stored within an emergency response vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10570638
Abstract: A shelter such as a team shelter includes, for example, a frame structure having left and right frames, and a canopy. The canopy is positionable in a first position with a front portion of the canopy disposed at a first elevation between front portions of the left and right frames so that the front portion of the canopy, and front portions of the left and right frames to define a front facing opening allowing access by one or more people into the shelter and under the canopy. The canopy is positionable in a second position with the front portion of the canopy disposed at a second lower elevation relative to the left and right frames so that the canopy disposed in the second position results in the shelter being less susceptible to wind induced tip over compared to the shelter with the canopy disposed in the first position.

  • Patent number: 7347217
Abstract: A sunshade including a shade, a headrest, an anchoring loop, and a support frame. The support frame supports the shade and the headrest. The support frame is adjustable to enable the positions of the shade and the headrest to be set to any one of a range of in-use positions with the shade shading the headrest as required. The anchoring loop is attached to the support frame at both ends and is weighted, for example, by being filled with a weighting material, such as sand, which is inserted into the loop through an opening which is sealed during use to prevent escape of the weighting material. The anchoring loop also serves as a handle for carrying the sunshade when it is folded for transport.

  • Patent number: 6267130
Abstract: A lightweight awning frame having the flexibility of being easily lengthened or shortened by the addition or removal of extension pieces, which is easy and inexpensive to manufacture and mass produce, assemble and install, and package in a relatively compact cardboard box. The awning can be produced in various forms with common requirements of multiple bent pipes and non-welded, one piece engageable members wherein the ends of the pipes are inserted and securely engaged for the purpose of forming a semicircular half-dome shaped structure. Standard left and right end sections having a set of awning tubes can be formed into awning ribs by connection or the addition of extension members and support brackets connected at joints spacing the awning tubes apart in an array of awning ribs. One form of the side brackets has two receiving openings and a flange for securing individual tubes.

  • Patent number: 5622198
Abstract: A portable collapsible shelter comprises a floor, pairs of corner posts, a horizontal brace extending between and pivotally attached to the corner posts of each pair, and built-in seats. The floor, corner posts, braces, and seats are foldable between respective erected and collapsed modes. In the collapsed mode, each corner post is folded into a stack, with the stacks of each pair thereof being coplanar. The associated brace is initially at the top of the stacks of folded corner posts. The brace folds into a stack located coplanar with and between the stacks of the associated corner posts when the floor is folded to its collapsed mode. The seats fold with the corner posts and lie on the floor when the corner posts are folded to their collapsed mode. Locking devices selectively prevent and enable folding of the floor, corner posts, and braces.
