Through Float-operated Vent Patents (Class 137/137)
  • Patent number: 10863680
Abstract: An irrigation connector for tapping into a water supply hose includes a retaining portion for holding a supply hose in a hose receiving region of the retaining portion and a hollow needle mounted for movement relative to the retaining portion. The needle can move between a retracted position and an extended position in which the needle extends into the hose receiving region for penetrating a supply hose held in the retaining portion to create a fluid communication path between an interior of the needle and an interior of a supply hose held in the retaining portion. The connector includes a needle drive arrangement for driving the needle towards the extended position.

  • Patent number: 8763625
Abstract: Apparatuses to enable single-point valve control of siphons, siphon pumps, metering siphon pumps, and turbine siphon pumps include terminal anti-backflow valves, a system flow control valve, a metering chamber, a self-regulating chamber, and a siphon turbine. The terminal anti-backflow valves provide automatically closable systems without further priming after an initial prime. The system flow control valve consolidates functions for priming, pumping, dispensing, and siphon flow regulation to provide single-point valve control. The metering chamber operated by a single-point system flow control valve enables periodic dispensing of liquid above a supply source. The self-regulating chamber controls a single-point system flow control valve to regulate a metering chamber for periodic dispensing. The siphon turbine provided with terminal anti-backflow valves and regulated by a single-point system flow control valve enables hydropower production.

  • Patent number: 6843262
Abstract: The present invention relates to fluidic systems, including switches for fluidic systems. The switches of the present invention may be particularly applicable to microfluidic systems. The switches of the invention may include a switching region having more than one position corresponding to more than one aspect ratio. Alternatively, the switches of the invention may include multiple inlets and a system for the selective supply of carrier fluid. The present invention also relates to a method of controlling a fluid in a microfluidic system and may be performed using the switches of the present invention.

  • Patent number: 6269832
Abstract: Degassing circuit for a liquid tank, including a degassing duct connecting the upper part of the tank to a higher point, close to the upper end of the filling duct, via a section in the form of a syphon and a liquid/gas separating volume provided at its base with a device for purging the liquid phase present in the degassing duct, in which the purging device brings the degassing duct into communication with the filling duct and is combined with a device creating a Venturi effect conducive, when filling, to purging the liquid phase present in the degassing duct.

  • Patent number: 5988245
Abstract: A vehicle wheel assembly includes a tire, a rim, an air valve and a relief valve. The relief valve can be installed in the rim, in the tire, or incorporated into the housing of the air valve to communicate directly with the interior of the tire; or as an adapter attachable to the outer end of the air valve. The relief valve includes an aperture normally covered by pre-stressed flexible belt which seals the aperture, but upon the presence of excessive pressure in the tire is deforming to vent the excessive pressure to the atmosphere. A second described variation relief valve includes a weakened portion of its housing which is automatically ruptured upon the presence of excessive pressure; this variation provides a one-time venting adapter.

  • Patent number: 4512887
Abstract: A chlorine injector for treatment of effluent includes apparatus which provides two separate vacuum forces that supplement each other to create sufficient vacuum force to draw chlorine from a chlorine tank and inject it into a sewage effluent tank for treatment of the effluent therein. The apparatus includes a water chamber positioned above the surface of the effluent, an airlift tube extending from the water chamber having its intake end submerged in the effluent and its discharge end inside of the water chamber at the upper portion thereof, an overflow return pipe extending from the water chamber to return excess effluent to the tank, and the chlorine injection assembly having the double vacuum means comprising a first eductor nozzle leading from the bottom of the water chamber to discharge into a second induction nozzle having a flared intake end, creating a first vacuum at this point by the venturi effect.
