Abstract: A water flow control device is provided that opens to allow water to leave a basin and pour into another pool of water. The water flow control device closes when the level in the pool of water is such that an influx of water could be returned to the basin. The water flow control device has a buoyancy apparatus that opens and closes the water flow control device based upon the level in the pool of water. The water flow control device also has a conveyance channel apparatus that directs water from the basin through the water flow control device in the event the buoyancy apparatus provides an opening to do so.
Abstract: A fire hydrant break off valve includes an offset pivot and a lateral trigger captured between a fire hydrant and fire hydrant break off riser. When a collision breaks the break off bolts holding the fire hydrant to the hydrant break off riser, the lateral trigger is released and the valve rotates to a closed position. Force of water attempting to escape rotates the valve around the offset pivot. The edge of the valve is tapered and after rotating, the valve is pushed against a matching seat to close the valve. The match of the tapered valve against the tapered seat stops or nearly stops all flow of water from the broken hydrant.
Abstract: Integrated, stand-alone, multiple-purpose pump stands are provided for controlled pumping of different liquids from a stand-mounted tank to a downstream use location, e.g., a seed treating device. The pump stands are equipped with an operating assembly including a liquid tank, a powered pump, a liquid flow line equipped with a flow meter from the tank and pump to the use location, and a programmable digital control device. During operation, the control device serves to approach and maintain the flow rate from the pump stand at or about a desired setpoint flow rate.

Abstract: A ground hydrant includes an elongated hollow water flow pipe positioned from above the ground to below the frost line in the ground, a flow control valve, and a housing which mounts the flow control valve at a position below the frost line in the ground. The flow control valve has a spherical body with an approximately right angle flow bore through it and a hollow extension tube disposed in flow communication with the flow bore and projecting outwardly from the body and coupled in flow communication with the lower end of the flow pipe. The housing mounts the flow control valve extension tube and spherical body for rotation about the longitudinal axis of the flow pipe between opened and closed positions in which flow communication is respectively permitted and prevented from a pressurized supply of water to the flow tube via the flow bore and extension tube. The flow control valve is rotatable between the opened and closed positions by rotating the flow pipe about its longitudinal axis.
