Abstract: A system for controlling the water level in a boiler, including a liquid level adjuster, conduits connecting the liquid level adjuster to the boiler through housings mounted on the boiler and membranes positioned between the boiler and the conduits to transmit fluid pressure from the boiler to the liquid level adjuster while preventing fluid communication between the boiler and the liquid level control system. Valved bypass ducts extend from the housings to the top of the boiler so that expansion of the water in the liquid level control system due to the firing of the boiler is accommodated by overflow into the top of the boiler rather than by rupture of the membranes. Graduated water columns are provided to permit calibration of the liquid level adjuster, and valves are included in the liquid level control system adjacent to the liquid level adjuster so that the liquid level adjuster may be isolated from the rest of the system and checked for proper operation at any time.
Abstract: A spray tanker suitable for balanced operation while traveling on level, uphill or downhill grades having a vehicle body and a tank body supported thereon. The tank body comprises a forwardly and rearwardly positioned tank section for containment of the fluid and conduits connecting each section to fluid spray apparatus for spraying fluid onto the grade traveled by the tanker. Valve structure connected to the fluid conduits connects either one or the other of the tank sections to the spray apparatus and the valve structure is operable for connecting the rearwardly positioned tank section to the spray apparatus when the vehicle is moving on an uphill grade and for connecting the forwardly positioned tank section to the spray apparatus when the vehicle is moving on a downhill grade.
Abstract: A dishwasher employing a float assembly positioned in a centrally located sump in close proximity laterally and vertically to a horizontally rotating circulation pump impeller inlet area for accurately terminating fill when the liquid level rises slightly above the dynamic prime level thereby enabling lower water usage by eliminating the need to overfill to compensate for inaccuracies in liquid level control. A baffle partially encloses the float to prevent nuisance trips resulting from liquid turbulence in the sump caused by pump operation. A cover is provided over the float mechanism to prevent nuisance trips caused by overspray striking the float. In its preferred form the float assembly comprises a multi-chambered open bottom float portion and an inverted U-shaped stem portion. One end of the U-shaped stem is connected to the float. The free end is slidably supported in a vertical standpipe formed in the bottom of the sump.
Abstract: There is disclosed a system for supplying liquids to potted plants through feeder conduits fluidly connecting with the lower ends of the plants and leading from a main distribution conduit to which the liquid is admitted from a water main or other pressurized source.
Abstract: A float support includes a guide sleeve extending upwardly from a dishwasher chamber sump for slidable reception of a float stem. The support includes a hollow standpipe having an upper portion, partially defined by an external wall of the guide sleeve along part of its axial height, and a lower portion extending down through the sump in an offset manner. The inverted cuplike float includes a plurality of cavities at least one of which is adapted to entrap air to provide buoyance to the float. A remaining one of the cavities defines a combined float damping and overflow cavity which conceals the upper portion of the hollow standpipe such that the standpipe establishes an air break path between the overflow cavity and atmosphere thereby damping the vertical travel of the float.
Abstract: A dishwasher fill system providing a combination fill control system and timer fill sequence that assures a predetermined minimum quantity of water is present in the dishwashing chamber regardless of the water fill flow rate and the household waterline pressure. The system provides two assured fill levels with a predetermined minimum water level fill cycle portion for a rinse fill and an increased minimum level fill cycle portion for a wash fill. If the rinse fill water level is below its minimum quantity after a predetermined run time, first switch means will energize the timer motor and the fill valve will remain open until said rinse fill minimum level is reached. A fill sensor switch at this point will turn off the water valve and energize the timer motor.

Abstract: A hydraulically actuated control valve normally includes a hydraulic cylinder which has an internal piston connected through a shaft to the actuating mechanism in the control valve. Ports are provided on each side of the piston through which fluid flows to move the piston axially inside the cylinder. The piston can be controlled electrically by an electro-hydraulic servo-controlled valve which includes an electrical input, a mechanical feedback input, and first and second outputs. The outputs are connected to the two ports in the cylinder, a mechanical feedback is coupled to the shaft and the mechanical feedback input of the control valve, and an electrical circuit is coupled to the electrical input of the servo-controlled valve to signal the hydraulic portion of the valve to either move the shaft in a manner to close the valve or move the shaft in a manner to open the valve.
Abstract: A pressure vessel adapted for connection in a high pressure gas line and having a coalescent type filter mounted to extract condensate; a vertical guide fitted with upper and lower magnetically operated switches at positions representing high and low condensate levels; a float carried by the guide for vertical reciprocation and having magnetic means for operating the switches; and an electrically operated valve connected to a condensate drain opening and to a control circuit connected to the switches whereby the condensate will be maintained within upper and lower limits.
Abstract: An alarm system operative in conjunction with a venocylsis set which includes a drop chamber coupled to the output of a fluid bottle. The alarm system is provided with a float disposed in the drop chamber and responsive to the level of fluid pool therein. A proximity switch sensitive to the float position is removably attached to the exterior of the drop chamber to produce a switching action when the fluid level falls below a predetermined value. An alarm circuit is coupled to the proximity switch to generate a warning signal when the switching action occurs.
