Additionally, a mechanical assembly is coupled to the tubing at, for example, a location below the formation isolation valve. The flow controller is automatically actuatable to enable a flow of injection fluid in a downhole direction while blocking fluid flow in an uphole direction while the mechanical formation isolation valve is in a closed position. The flow controller includes a plurality of flow restrictors positioned to control flow between an interior and an exterior of the tubing.

An accumulator can control the operations of the valve by selectively exerting pressure and/or fluid flow on the pusher rod.

    Abstract: Animal drinking troughs have pressure reducers for reducing the higher pressure of the liquid supply to a low liquid pressure for supplying the animal drinking troughs. For various reasons, it is desired to change the reduced pressure. This takes place by adjustment of the pressure reducers. It is known to undertake such an adjustment with compressed air. This requires a separate compressed air source and a corresponding pipe system. The invention makes provision to adjust the pressure reducer hydraulically by means of the higher pressure of the liquid of the liquid supply. The energy required for adjusting the pressure reducers thereby provides the liquid pressure of the liquid supply. As a result, the pressure reducers according to the invention operate autonomously. A separate energy source for adjusting the pressure reducers is not required.

    Abstract: A valve for subterranean whipstock service has a side port and a through passage with a biased movable sleeve to shift between circulation mode into the annulus and flow through mode for setting an anchor and then feeding window mill nozzles. The valve is run in when in circulation mode to allow operation of a measurement while drilling device. When the whipstock is properly oriented the pressure is increased to break a shear pin to allow a spring to bias the sleeve to the flow through position. The shifting of the sleeve opens a bypass passage around the restriction orifice that was first used to build pressure to break the shear pins that let the sleeve move under spring bias. As a result the spring can hold the sleeve in position despite high flow rates needed to remove cuttings from the mill as the window is opened.
