  • Patent number: 11378045
Abstract: An air cleaner assembly can contain an air filter element to filter contaminant material out of an air stream. In some examples, the air cleaner assembly includes a housing with an integrated noise suppression chamber for supplying air to a downstream compressor. The housing forms a cavity into which an air filter element is inserted. Contaminated air enters the housing and passes through the air filter. Filtered air can discharge from the housing through a first opening supplying air to a combustion engine and a second opening supplying air to a compressor. Air supplied to the compressor passes from the interior of the housing containing the filter element and through the integrated noise suppression chamber before being discharged. The acoustic energy released by the filtered air stream exiting the air cleaner assembly may be reduced by passing through the noise suppression chamber.

Abstract: The present invention is an improved superimposed standing valve and related method of harvesting oil and gas using a conventional rod pump equipped with the improved superimposed standing valve. The present invention includes a valve cylindrical sleeve disposed between a top cylinder and a main standing valve such that the valve cylindrical sleeve can slide along the top cylinder a fixed valve stroke. A plurality of openings are sealed and unsealed by the movement of the valve cylindrical sleeve. The present invention isolates the pump from the head pressure of the oil and gas inside of the tubing thereby enabling the standing valve of the pump to remain open on both the upstroke and the downstroke. As a result, the improved superimposed standing valve increases pump efficiency and reduces the risk of gas locking. • Patent number: 8668478
Abstract: A scroll compressor includes a discharge valve assembly having a valve member, a valve stop supported within the compressor shell and including an aperture there through and a communication member. The communication member defines a fluid passage extending into the discharge chamber from the valve stop toward the first discharge outlet in the discharge chamber and provides fluid communication between the aperture in the valve stop and a location downstream of the valve stop. A first side of the valve member abuts the valve stop when in an open position and the valve stop provides communication between the first side of the valve member and the communication member via the aperture.

  • Patent number: 8267162
Abstract: A bi-directional pressure relief valve for a plate fin heat exchanger including an elongated heat exchanger tube having ends and a channel for the flow of a fluid from one end of the tube to the opposite end and a bi-directional reed valve positioned within the channel. The reed valve allows fluid to flow within the channel in either direction when a pressure differential across the reed valve is sufficient to urge the reed valve to an open position, thereby enabling the heat exchanger to be used independent of the direction of fluid flow through the heat exchanger.

  • Patent number: 7600532
Abstract: A valve assembly includes first and second conduits having respective first and second flanges in abutment with each other, a stopper in the second conduit, and a valve body secured between the first and second flanges. The valve body includes a body bore in communication between the first and second conduits. The body bore defines a circular opening in one end of the valve body. The valve body also includes a circumferential notch that substantially insulates the circular opening from distortion arising from securing the valve body. The stopper snuggly seats against the circular opening to prevent fluid flow from the second conduit to the first conduit, but unseats to permit fluid flow from the first conduit to the second conduit. An o-ring may surround a portion of the valve body and be energized as the valve body is secured. A lip may surround the circular opening to provide a seat for the stopper.

Abstract: Valve-to-fitting converter that mounts on the body of an existing valve in a piping system in place of the actuator for the valve and has a dam that mates with a weir in the valve body to block flow between sections of piping connected to the valve body, and ports that provide communication between the sections of piping and fittings connected to the converter. With such converters replacing two or more of the valves in a system, sections of piping can be isolated and/or re-routed without having to shut down the entire system for an extended period of time.

  • Patent number: 6622795
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a flow-actuated valve for use in a wellbore. The invention includes a body having a closing member and a seat. The closing member and seat are separable to open and close the valve, thereby allowing the flow of fluid through the valve. The invention further includes a retainer to initially retain the valve in the open position absent a predetermined fluid flow rate in a first direction for a predetermined time period. A biasing member thereafter urges the valve to the closed position, absent another fluid flow rate in the first direction.
