Patent number: 7191796Abstract: The dual outlet air valve is design feature that would greatly enhance the convenience of the standard valve stem design. In order to accomplish this the dual outlet air valve comprises a multi-port design whereby air can be released or injected through more then one port. The sealing and release of air for each port is controlled by a novel mechanism comprising a spring mounted plug. This spring is helical and surrounds a rod. One end of the rod is attached to a plug that is held in alignment with a hole defined by a wall formed to separate the upper portion of the port from the lower portion. The other end of the rod passes through a partition formed to define a hole at its center. The spring is larger in diameter then the center hole of the partition and is seated between the partition and the plug. The partition is threaded on its circumferance and is seated on threads defined by the inner surface of the port. The check valve further includes a valve member having an aerodynamic shape disposed within the valve housing and having a closed position to engage the valve seat to prevent fuel from flowing through the outlet member and an open position to cooperate with the valve guide to allow fuel to flow through the outlet member.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 2002Date of Patent: December 6, 2005Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Dale M. Patent number: 6899312Abstract: A pressure relief valve for flowing media has a closing element (6), whose closing force can be set with both the setting of the closing force and the brief release of the closing element (6) performed with a single setting element. Teeth (22, 23) are provided, by which the threaded sleeve (3) can be actuated such that it can perform a rotary movement and a lifting movement can be performed between the handwheel (2) and the threaded sleeve (3). The teeth are provided between a pin (21) of the handwheel (2) for setting the closing force and a threaded sleeve (3). The closing element (6) is connected to the handwheel (2) such that the closing element (6) follows the lifting movement of the handwheel (2).Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 2003Date of Patent: May 31, 2005Assignee: Dräger Medical AG & Co. Patent number: 6868772Abstract: A control valve is provided which may be incorporated within a fluid operating system. The valve has an internally-mounted check element which allows the valve to provide a fail-safe mode for a downstream device in fluid communication with the control valve. The invention includes the control valve, the valve in combination with a downstream device, and a method whereby the flow of pressurized fluid is controlled by operation of the control valve.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2002Date of Patent: March 22, 2005Assignee: IMI Norgren, Inc.Inventors: Steven L. Publication number: 20030037823Abstract: A regulator valve for a fuel pump of a vehicle includes a valve housing adapted to be disposed in an outlet member of the fuel pump. The regulator valve also includes a valve adjuster disposed within the valve housing and a valve seat disposed within the valve housing and spaced from the valve adjuster. The regulator valve further includes a valve member having an aerodynamic shape disposed within the valve housing and having a closed position to engage the valve seat to prevent fuel from flowing through the outlet member and an open position determined by the valve adjuster to allow fuel to flow through the outlet member.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 22, 2001Publication date: February 27, 2003Inventor: Dale M. Patent number: 6394770Abstract: The invention relates to a piston pump for a vehicle brake system, in particular an electrohydraulic vehicle brake system. To improve the aspiration performance of the piston pump when the brake fluid is viscous at low the invention proposes a valve opening device, which compulsorily opens the inlet valve, embodied as a spring-loaded check valve, of the piston pump at the onset of a return stroke of the piston. The valve opening device has an opener pin, which is mounted on a valve ball of the inlet valve, and which at the end of a supply stroke of the piston enters a perforated, disklike valve opener part. At the onset of the return stroke, the valve opener part restrains the valve ball by frictional force at its opener pin and thereby opens the inlet valve.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2001Date of Patent: May 28, 2002Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Heinz Siegel, Werner-Karl Marquardt
