  • Patent number: 11767724
Abstract: A valve element selectively opens and closes a radial aperture and an axial hole in a drilling element for drilling mud circulation. The valve element includes a fixing portion allowing the valve element to sealingly fix to the drilling element at the radial aperture. A body has an inlet aperture and an outlet aperture, and a duct for putting the apertures in communication with each other, defining a path for the drilling mud. A plug selectively seals the inlet aperture. A first sealing element is positioned in a housing formed in the axial hole of the drilling element. A shutter pivoted to the body includes a second sealing element to selectively and sealingly close the outlet aperture. The shutter selectively and sealingly closes the axial hole by abutting against the first sealing element. The valve element is adapted to keep the outlet aperture of the body normally closed.

In this dispenser the concentration of the concentrate fluid in the input fluid can be varied to differing preset amounts. The dispenser contains an elongated channel having an input for the input fluid and dispensing nozzle at an exit end for dispensing the chemical concentrate fluid in a diluted form. There is a transverse intersecting channel intermediate the input end and the exit end. The transverse intersecting channel has an insert that is moveable in the intersecting channel, apertures of the moveable insert being alignable with apertures in the transverse intersecting channel and the liquid reservoir container holding the concentrate fluid. One aperture is in alignment with the elongated channel and another aperture in alignment with a channel from the liquid reservoir container.

Abstract: Techniques for continuously circulating fluid into a drill string are disclosed. These techniques involve a circulation sub (108) including a tubular and a diverter valve (200A). The tubular has a first end connectable to the drill string, a second end connectable to a pipe segment, and a port (220) therein. The tubular has a fluid path (202) for allowing the fluid to flow from the pipe segment to the drill string and a circulation path (204) for allowing the fluid to flow from the port to the drill string. The diverter valve has a channel therethrough in selective fluid communication with the fluid path. The diverter valve is positionable between a flow through position for selectively allowing the fluid to flow through the fluid path and a diversion position for selectively allowing the fluid to flow through the circulation path whereby the fluid may continuously flow through the drill string.
