  • Patent number: 11719362
Abstract: A method of custom manufacturing a fluid pressure reduction device for use in a process control valve. The method includes creating the fluid pressure reduction device using an additive manufacturing technique, which generally includes forming a body and forming a plurality of flow paths in the body. The body has an inner wall and an outer wall spaced radially outward of the inner wall. The flow paths are formed in the body between the inner wall and the outer wall of the body. Each of the flow paths includes an inlet section formed in one of the inner and outer walls, a curved intermediate section, and an outlet section formed in the other of the inner and outer walls.

  • Patent number: 11353115
Abstract: A rotary control valve that includes a valve body, a valve shaft disposed within a bore of the valve body, a first valve seat disposed within the valve body, a first control element carried by the valve shaft, and a first pressure labyrinth at least partially defined by the first control element. The first control element is movably disposed in the first opening between a closed position, in which the first control element sealingly engages the first valve seat, thereby closing the first opening, and an open position, in which the first control element is spaced from the first valve seat, thereby opening the first opening. When the first control element is in the closed position, the first pressure labyrinth is configured to cause a pressure drop in fluid flowing therethrough, thereby minimizing an internal leak rate of the rotary control valve.

  • Patent number: 10047868
Abstract: An adjustable valve includes a main valve body having a first end portion, an oppositely disposed second end portion, and an endless cylindrical wall extending therebetween. Oppositely disposed flanges, including respective flange apertures, are formed in the endless cylindrical wall for accepting cylindrical fluid conduits. A fluid flow volume is positioned within the main valve body and disposed between the aperture flanges. A plug is controllably insertable through the first end portion into the valve to at least partially obstruct the fluid flow volume. An at least partially hollow cylindrical drum is rotatably connected within the main valve body, wherein the drum has a pair of oppositely disposed drum apertures formed through a wall thereof. The drum is rotatable to at least partially align the pair of oppositely disposed flange apertures to define an unobstructed fluid flow path through the valve body.

  • Patent number: 8567439
Abstract: A rotary flow divider, particularly for use in hydraulic circuits for applications such as dividing the output of a hydraulic pump between several differently (non-equally) loaded devices. Includes a central distributor which channels fluid from the pump to outlet ports, and an outer housing with a plurality of distribution ports (associated with different loaded devices). Repeated alignment and closure of outlet and distribution ports in a sequential type manner distributes fluid to the different devices. Such port alignment and closure is achieved by movement of the distributor and housing relative to each other in a rotational and/or linear manner, though an intermediary moving shutter device or sleeve may be used instead. Such an intermediary shutter device or sleeve may also be configured as a repositionable control sleeve to modify the nature of distribution of fluid when it is secured in different positions.

  • Patent number: 7469707
Abstract: An irrigation control valve has two movable members that can independently or in combination block the flow of water in a conduit, or be fully retracted of at some point in-between. A moisture sensitive element is arranged to be placed in contact with the soil and expands or retracts dependent on the moisture within soil adjacent the moisture sensitive element. The moisture sensitive element is connected or coupled to a moisture controlled member. Dependent on the moisture of the soil adjacent the moisture sensitive element, the moisture controlled member is moved further into the conduit with increasing moisture in the soil. The moisture controlled member and an electronically controlled member are located adjacent each other at the conduit. The electronically controlled member determines how far the moisture controlled member needs to move in order to fully block the flow of water in the conduit.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a non-return valve that can be configured for use anywhere along a molding material flow path in a molding system. The non-return valve of the present invention includes an improved means to restrict the backflow of melt therethrough during injection. In particular, a spigot-seal is configurable, during injection, between overlapping, closely-spaced, and mutually parallel complementary male and female spigot portions that are configured between complementary valve members. The spigot-seal advantageously maintains an effective backflow restriction even in the eventuality of transient movement between the spigot portions during injection. Preferably, the non-return valve of the present invention is also configured to include a means for mutually aligning and/or guiding the complementary valve components that ensures a proper alignment between the complementary spigot portions, and may also serve to improve the function and longevity of a face-seal, when present.

  • Patent number: 7128080
Abstract: A surge prevention valve may be used to prevent the formation of an initial surge of high pressure. The valve may be located, for example, between a high pressure gas cylinder and a medical pressure regulator. The valve is provided with first and second valves located within a housing and integrating a pressurization orifice. The initial opening of the valve in an axial direction enables gas to flow through the pressurization orifice at a first flow rate. The full opening of the valve in the axial direction enables the gas to flow through the second valve at a second flow rate, which is much higher than the first flow rate. The controlled pressurization of the gas through the orifice delays the time during which the gas reaches full recompression. The valve may be further provided with a vent for venting pressurized gas away from a nominally closed top surface of the lower valve element.
