  • Patent number: 9022057
Abstract: A flow path switching valve is disclosed that can be operated remotely simply by turning flow on and off. A mid portion of the body has at least one passage therein leading from a central axial bore to one or more external ports each having a tractor nozzle. The valve outlet connects the axial bore to a cleaning nozzle. A poppet member is received in the central axial bore. In a first position, the poppet member directs fluid flow through the outlet to the cleaning nozzle connected to the outlet. The poppet member, when in a second position, closes the central axial bore through the outlet end of the valve body and permits fluid flow through the tractor nozzles. Selection of the different flow paths is made by simply reducing flow through the valve below a predetermined fluid flow threshold and then increasing the flow rate above the threshold.

Abstract: A valve includes a body with a spool bore, a supply passage, a tank passage, and a workport. A spool, in the spool bore, has a first position providing a first path between the supply passage and the workport, a second position providing a second path between the tank passage and the workport, and a closed position. A latch assembly includes a cam that moves in response to pressure, a sphere engaged by the cam, and a notch. While the spool is in the second position, fluid flowing from the workport to the tank passage produces a first pressure, which causes the cam to hold the sphere in the notch, thereby inhibiting spool movement; and when the fluid flow from the workport to the tank passage terminates, a second pressure is produced causing the cam allow the sphere to move out of the notch, thereby enabling the spool movement.

Abstract: A system which includes a turbo bypass switching valve (BSV) positioned at a beneficial location as a direct mount on an air box to achieve compliance to OBD hose-off requirement via electronic actuation of the BSV and monitoring of the fuel tank pressure sensor for pressure change. When the turbocharger unit is generating pressurized air, the turbo BSV is open, and vapor is passing through the purge valve, some level of vacuum in the fuel tank is sensed. By closing the BSV, flow through the venturi is reduced, producing both less vacuum and a change in fuel tank pressure. The pressure change does not occur if any of the hoses become disconnected. This results in a simple OBD “venture hose off” check without additional components.

A channel which can be electrically activated and thus controlled is attached to the bell section, such that the bell reservoir section includes a bell relief channel in fluid communication with an outlet section and also a separate hydraulic poppet channel in communication with a locating needle head. In addition, turbine and deactivation channels are employed such that the deactivation channel connects the input section and the seat reservoir.

Abstract: A methods and system detecting water system leaks provides detecting of water leakage having very low flows. Very low flow leaks are detected by detecting drops in a building water system pressure when the water supply source is disabled. The water system is disabled by an electrically controllable valve, which may be turned off in response to a motion detector that detects that no human activity is present in the building. The rate of pressure drop is used to determine the magnitude of the leak, and multiple thresholds can be used to detect slow leaks versus more serious leaks. A humidity detector may also be incorporated in the system to detect abnormal humidity conditions and shut the electrically controllable valve in response. Appliance current consumption can be detected and used to override motion-sensor based shut-off of the valve, so that water-consuming appliances can continue to operate.

  • Patent number: 8667987

Abstract: The invention provides an electrically operated valve which can control a flow rate precisely at a small flow rate distributing time and can circulate a fluid so as to prevent a pressure loss as much as possible at a large flow rate distributing time without an increase of a working and assembling cost. A movable valve seat body forming a main valve port for forming a small flow rate flow path extending from a first inlet and outlet to a second inlet and outlet is arranged between a valve chamber and a lower chamber. The movable valve seat body is structured such that its lower portion is slidably fitted and inserted to the lower chamber, and such as to serve as a float type check valve body for opening and blocking a large flow rate flow path extending from the second inlet and outlet to the first inlet and outlet.

  • Patent number: 8573244
Abstract: A relief valve assembly to relieve overpressure of a pressurized fluid. In accordance with some embodiments, the assembly comprises a housing with an inlet and an outlet to form a conduit for a pressurized fluid. A normally closed valve member is axially displaceable within the housing to engage a valve seat to prevent a flow of the pressurized fluid along the conduit. A biasing member applies a bias force to the valve member to retain the valve member against the valve seat. A piston within the valve member contactingly engages the pressurized fluid. A mechanically collapsible member resists axial movement of the piston responsive to said contacting engagement of the pressurized fluid. The piston and collapsible member decouple the bias force supplied by the biasing spring member upon the valve member from a force upon the valve member applied by the pressurized fluid, thereby maintaining a bubble-tight seal.
