Abstract: For use in a shower installation, a mixer assembly with variable flow control insertable into a wall to have, when installed, a “front of wall” outlet for mixed water and a “front of wall” single control of both mix and flow to issue from said outlet, and an “in wall and/or back of wall” separate intake for hot and cold water. Preferably the assembly provides in use from the mixer assembly outlet a water flow via a flexible conduit to a shower head outlet. Such flow is controlled both as to water temperature and flow volume reliant upon single lever actuation of a rotor within the mixer assembly (preferably with a venturi draw in feature for that water feed of lesser pressure).

At least either the first valve aperture or the second valve aperture is set in communication with the third valve aperture through a communication hole of a movable valve seat, or the first and second valve apertures are closed by the movable valve seat. A protuberance that slidably contacts the movable valve seat is formed on a surface of the synthetic resin valve seat that opposes the movable valve seat and on the opening edges of at least the first valve aperture and the second valve aperture such that the protuberance surrounds the first valve aperture and the second valve aperture.

  • Patent number: 6293299
Abstract: A limiting device for use with a single-handle valve for mixing hot and cold water and for controlling the maximum flow-volume or the maximum temperature of flow through the valve. The device limits the range of motion of the control stem of a single-handle mixing valve. The device comprises a guide template and an insert. The guide template generally defines the range of motion of the control stem, the control stem being positioned within a camming aperture of the guide template, the camming aperture having the same general shape as the range of motion of the control stem. The guide template includes a guide-cover key that prevents any rotary movement of the guide template relative to the single-handle mixing valve, and a guide-insert key. The insert further limits the range of motion of the control stem during engagement with the guide template. The insert includes an insert-limiting edge that further reduces the size of the camming aperture during engagement of the insert with the guide template.

  • Patent number: 6279607
Abstract: A fluid metering valve, for example as shown in FIG. 1, comprises a valve element moveable, axially and angularly, by a drive member, a sensor arranged to monitor the position occupied by a target carried by the drive member, and an adjustment arrangement whereby the axial position of the target can be adjusted relative to the drive member independently of the angular position of the target. A backlash free connection may be provided between the valve element and the drive member, the backlash free connection comprising a projection protruding laterally from one of the drive member and the valve element, the projection being received within a recess associated with the other of the drive member and the valve element, the dimensions of the projection and the recess being such that the projection engages the sides of the recess but is spaced from the base thereof, and biasing means urging the projection towards the base of the recess.

It includes a body defining a flow passageway and a valve connected to the body in flow communication with the body's passageway. The valve includes a barrel and a piston extending into the barrel. Means is provided for displacing the piston within the barrel along the barrel's axis to open a flow path that is preferably adapted for liquid suction. Means is also provided for rotating the piston within the barrel around the barrel's axis to open a flow path that is preferably adapted for smoke or gas evacuation.
