Patent number: 7549445Abstract: A female coupling member of a pipe coupling is provided which has a fluid passage and a vale therein. The fluid passage is separated by the valve into a first-end side adapted to be connected to a conduit and a second-end side adapted to be connected to a male coupling member. The valve is moveable between an open position for permitting a fluid to flow between the first-end side and the second-end side, and a closed position for blocking the flow of fluid. The valve is provided with a purge flow path that allows the second end side of the fluid passage to communicate with the outside when the valve is in the closed position, and that blocks the communication between the fluid passage and the outside when the valve is in the open position. Thus, the present invention simplifies the purge mechanism of the female coupling member which releases the fluid pressure remaining within the fluid passage when the valve is in the closed position.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2003Date of Patent: June 23, 2009Assignee: Nitto Kohki Co., Ltd.Inventors: Toshio Mikiya, Takuya Nishio, Kohji Matsumoto

Patent number: 6412790Abstract: A height control valve is preferably adapted to be mounted in a trailing arm suspension and fluidly interconnected to a source of pressurized air and to an air spring. The height control valve comprises a housing having a cylindrical bore, a supply port, an exhaust port and an air spring port each of which extends through the housing and fluidly communicates with the bore. A rotor is preferably rotatably mounted in the bore and interconnected to the arm wherein pivotal movement of the arm rotates the rotor with respect to the housing between first, second and third rotational positions.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2001Date of Patent: July 2, 2002Assignee: Holland Neway International, Inc.Inventors: Thomas A. Patent number: 6269838Abstract: An improved rotary servovalve system employs a rotary magnetic solenoid having an armature that includes at least one permanent magnet. The armature is rotatable relative to a stator formed as an electromagnet which is energizable to create alternative electromagnetic fields having opposite polarities from each other. When deenergized, the stator allows the armature to return to a neutral, null position from positions of extreme rotation in opposite angular directions due to the magnetic force of the permanent magnet of the armature. The armature is coupled to carry a movable valve element in angular rotation therewith, so that flow through the servovalve of the system can occur in alternative directions. Also, the valve element is biased toward a position in which all of the valve ports are closed when power is removed from the rotary solenoid.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 1999Date of Patent: August 7, 2001Inventors: Raymond Dexter Woodworth, James Edwin Bobrow

Patent number: 6189807Abstract: A spraying system having a control valve with an inlet port for connection to a liquid supply, a discharge port for connection to a spray nozzle, and a return port for connection to the liquid supply. The control valve includes a valve member which has a liquid flow passageway and is movable between an open position in which the liquid flow passageway communicates between the inlet and discharge ports for permitting the direction of pressurized liquid to the spray nozzle and a second position which prevents the flow of pressurized liquid to the discharge port. The spray nozzle has an associated pressure responsive check valve for preventing the flow of liquid to the spray nozzle, and hence for preventing drippage, upon movement of the control valve member to the off position.Type: GrantFiled: February 29, 2000Date of Patent: February 20, 2001Assignee: Spraying Systems Co.Inventors: Fred A.
