  • Patent number: 7549445
Abstract: A female coupling member of a pipe coupling is provided which has a fluid passage and a vale therein. The fluid passage is separated by the valve into a first-end side adapted to be connected to a conduit and a second-end side adapted to be connected to a male coupling member. The valve is moveable between an open position for permitting a fluid to flow between the first-end side and the second-end side, and a closed position for blocking the flow of fluid. The valve is provided with a purge flow path that allows the second end side of the fluid passage to communicate with the outside when the valve is in the closed position, and that blocks the communication between the fluid passage and the outside when the valve is in the open position. Thus, the present invention simplifies the purge mechanism of the female coupling member which releases the fluid pressure remaining within the fluid passage when the valve is in the closed position.

Abstract: A rotary valve 10 which includes a first sleeve member 24 and a second shaft member 32. The members 24 and 32 cooperatively provide pressure to a cylinder assembly 36, effective to cause the cylinder assembly 36 to move the wheels 20, 22 in a desired direction. The valve 10 provides increased pressure to the low-pressure side of the piston as the amount of torque which is communicated to it is increased or as the velocity of the rack assembly 18 is increased from wheels 20, 22.

Abstract: A fluid controller (27) for use with a fluid pressure operated device (45) having an inlet (47) and an outlet (49) and defining a fluid leakage path therebetween. The controller (27) includes valving (61) defining a main fluid path and further defines a fluid bleed passage including a variable bleed orifice (AB), having a substantially zero flow area when the controller valving (61) is in its neutral position (N) and in the normal operating position (R), but beginning to open as the valving approaches its maximum displacement position (R-M).

  • Patent number: 6446667
Abstract: A ball valve includes a body, two side covers, a central shaft, a handle, a ball, and two ball pads. The ball defines a main flow hole and a secondary flow hole perpendicular to and is not communicated with the main flow hole. One ball pad defines a main passage hole and a secondary passage hole corresponding to the main flow hole and the secondary flow hole. One side cover defines a main through hole and a secondary through hole corresponding to the main passage hole and secondary passage hole. When the secondary flow hole, the secondary passage hole, and the secondary through hole communicate with each other, a fluid contained in a pipe is introduced to outside of the ball valve, so that the fluid contained the pipe can be sampled without having to dismantle the pipe, thereby facilitating a sampling work in each section of the pipe.

  • Patent number: 6431976
Abstract: An air distribution chamber that allows selective distribution of air to a variety of vents or combinations thereof is provided. The distribution chamber comprises a nested pair of chambers that define a central cavity having an open and closed end, a shaft that allows axial and rotational movement of the inner chamber within the outer chamber, an actuator that controls such movement, a stabilizer for maintaining the open end and receiving the shaft, and a seal between the inner and outer chambers. The outer chamber defines a series of flanged openings, and the inner chamber defines a series of apertures. The flanged openings are of a form that allows connection of the distribution chamber to ducts. When the inner and outer chambers are aligned such that the openings and apertures overlap, defining one or more communicative passageways, air is able to escape from the cavity, through the aperture and opening, and into the duct.

Abstract: A height control valve is preferably adapted to be mounted in a trailing arm suspension and fluidly interconnected to a source of pressurized air and to an air spring. The height control valve comprises a housing having a cylindrical bore, a supply port, an exhaust port and an air spring port each of which extends through the housing and fluidly communicates with the bore. A rotor is preferably rotatably mounted in the bore and interconnected to the arm wherein pivotal movement of the arm rotates the rotor with respect to the housing between first, second and third rotational positions.

  • Patent number: 6269838
Abstract: An improved rotary servovalve system employs a rotary magnetic solenoid having an armature that includes at least one permanent magnet. The armature is rotatable relative to a stator formed as an electromagnet which is energizable to create alternative electromagnetic fields having opposite polarities from each other. When deenergized, the stator allows the armature to return to a neutral, null position from positions of extreme rotation in opposite angular directions due to the magnetic force of the permanent magnet of the armature. The armature is coupled to carry a movable valve element in angular rotation therewith, so that flow through the servovalve of the system can occur in alternative directions. Also, the valve element is biased toward a position in which all of the valve ports are closed when power is removed from the rotary solenoid.

Abstract: A spraying system having a control valve with an inlet port for connection to a liquid supply, a discharge port for connection to a spray nozzle, and a return port for connection to the liquid supply. The control valve includes a valve member which has a liquid flow passageway and is movable between an open position in which the liquid flow passageway communicates between the inlet and discharge ports for permitting the direction of pressurized liquid to the spray nozzle and a second position which prevents the flow of pressurized liquid to the discharge port. The spray nozzle has an associated pressure responsive check valve for preventing the flow of liquid to the spray nozzle, and hence for preventing drippage, upon movement of the control valve member to the off position.
