Patent number: 11484466Abstract: This disclosure relates to device for providing continuous negative abdominal pressure (CNAP) which selectively recruits (inflates) the dorsal (spinal region) collapsed areas of the lung, while enabling the patient to remain in the supine (usual) position. The CNAP device includes a rigid frame configured to have a shape and size to envelop a patient's lower chest and abdominal area while in a supine position with the frame having opposed edges which sit on a surface on which the supine patient is resting. A pressure sensor is mounted to the frame for measuring a pressure inside the chamber and is connected to a display for displaying the pressure inside the chamber. An active pressure controller is connected to the pressure sensor, and a vacuum pump is in flow communication with inside the chamber and connected to the active pressure controller.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 2020Date of Patent: November 1, 2022Assignee: THE HOSPITAL FOR SICK CHILDRENInventors: Brian Patrick Kavanagh, Doreen Engelberts, Takeshi Yoshida, Thomas Looi, Peter Alexander Gordon, Kevin Ai Xin Jue Luo, Rami Saab

Patent number: 11085548Abstract: A cooling-water control valve as a valve device includes a housing and a valve member. The housing has an inlet port and multiple outlet ports, each of which connects an inner space of the housing to an outside. The valve member is rotatably provided in the inner space of the housing and connects the inlet port to the multiple outlet ports or disconnects the inlet port from the outlet ports depending on a rotational position of the valve member. The inlet port is communicated to the inner space of the housing independently of the rotational position of the valve member. At least a part of one outlet port overlaps with one or more than one of the other outlet ports, when viewed them in an axial direction of the valve member.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2019Date of Patent: August 10, 2021Assignee: DENSO CORPORATIONInventor: Tadashi Ikemoto

Patent number: 10519943Abstract: A pump system/method configured to provide substantially constant flow of concrete, cement, or other material is disclosed. The system integrates a trapezoidal cutting ring and spectacle plate in conjunction with lofted transitional interfaces to the hydraulic pump cylinder rams and output ejection port to ensure that pressurized discharge concrete material is not allowed to be relaxed nor backflow into the material sourcing hopper. The trapezoidal cutting ring is configured to completely seal off the trapezoidal spectacle ports as it smoothly transitions between the hydraulic pump input ports during cycle changes thus generating a more uniform output flow of concrete while eliminating hopper backflow and hydraulic fluid shock. A control system is configured to coordinate operation of the hydraulic pump cylinder rams and cutting ring to ensure that output ejection port pressure and material flow is maintained at a relatively constant level throughout all portions of the pumping cycle.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2017Date of Patent: December 31, 2019Inventor: Francis Wayne Priddy
