  • Patent number: 11724928
Abstract: A backblock includes a body with a cavity connected to an inlet and an outlet. A spindle is positioned with a first end within the cavity and a second end with a tab exterior of the body. A latching plate is configured for translative movement relative to the body. The latching plate includes a keyhole with a bore and a channel. The bore is dimensioned to receive the spindle and the channel is dimensioned to receive the tab. The latching plate has a first latch position proximate to the body and a second latch position spaced apart from the body. When the tab is in alignment with the channel, the latching plate can translate to the second latch position about the tab. When the tab is out of alignment with the channel, the tab retains the latching plate in the first latch position.

  • Patent number: 11650607
Abstract: Two problems with existing electronically controlled mixing valves for domestic use is their size and difficulty accessing and repairing them. Their size means that they often become hidden behind wall linings, and because of the way in which they are plumbed into the pipework of a house, they are difficult to access and remove for repair or replacement. Disclosed is a compact and replaceable mixing valve cartridge that can be mated to a fixed fitting that is permanently plumbed into the pipework of a house. The compact size allows the cartridge to be positioned behind the type of removable face plates that are often installed over existing manually operated mixing valves. Simplified valve actuators and a compact mixing and temperature sensing configuration have facilitated the compact size. The valve cartridge can simply be accessed, unbolted and removed, without the need for extensive plumbing re-work.

  • Patent number: 8267118
Abstract: The present invention relates to a sanitary fitting having a fitting house and having a control cartridge which is arranged in the latter. The control cartridge has a control shank which is pivotably mounted in the control cartridge. On the control shank is displaceably mounted an actuating lever which can be pivoted up and down between a closed position and an open position in order thus to control the water flow. Furthermore, a plate is mounted at one end on the guide element and at the other end on an axis of rotation which is fixedly arranged with respect to the pivot axis and which is parallel thereto. By means of this arrangement, during the pivoting of the actuating lever from the closed position in the direction toward the open position, said actuating lever is also moved in the direction away from the control shank and, in the direction of the cartridge axis, away from the fitting housing.

  • Patent number: 7857003
Abstract: A selectable detent assembly that has a housing with a plurality of passageways. Within the housing is a selector spool that is disposed within a selector passageway and is rotatable to provide a plurality of rotational positions including a no detent position, a kick down position, and a continuous detent position. A pilot check valve is disposed within the housing and provides a fluid flow path from a pilot passageway to the selector passageway and a detent passageway. A detent arming piston is disposed within the detent passageway and is connected to a directional control valve spool. Thus, depending on the rotational position of the selector spool, the selector spool can either provide a continuous flow path through the selector passageway to a tank, a flow path that is controlled by the axial position of the selector spool or prevent flow to the tank in order to operate the detent arming piston.

  • Patent number: 7607449
Abstract: A mixer tap assembly is shown which has a mixing chamber for mixing fluids from two inputs, and a mix controller to control the ratio of fluid flow into the mixing chamber from the inputs. The mix controller includes a mix actuator which operates a mix control apparatus, such as a rotatable sleeve, which is connected to a mix valve apparatus associated with the mixing chamber. The mix actuator and a fluid outlet are mountable on or above a work surface via a mounting apparatus, while the mixing chamber is mountable below the work surface. Furthermore, the mix control apparatus and an output conduit, between the fluid outlet and the mixing chamber, pass through a bore in the mounting means, so minimizing the footprint of the mixer tap assembly on the work surface.

  • Patent number: 7287551
Abstract: The present invention provides gas control valve including a valve body having a gas inlet, a gas outlet, and a gas passage between the inlet and outlet, and including a valve control element for controlling the flow of gas between the inlet and the outlet. The valve control element includes valve stem have a cam follower in the form of a pin projecting laterally there-from, and a bead 8 at one end of the stem bearing an O-ring that is able to seal against an inside wall surface of the body to seal the gas outlet. The cam follower pin on the stem engages with a cam surface of the valve body. Rotation of the valve control element causes the cam follower pin to co-operate with the cam surface and displace the valve control element to open or close the valve. The present invention also provides a gas appliance having one or more gas burners and a gas control including at least one control value according to the invention.

  • Patent number: 6901962
Abstract: A surge prevention valve may be used to prevent the formation of an initial surge of high pressure. The valve may be located, for example, between a high pressure gas cylinder and a medical pressure regulator. The valve is provided with first and second valves located within a housing and integrating a pressurization orifice. The initial opening of the valve in an axial direction enables gas to flow through the pressurization orifice at a first flow rate. The full opening of the valve in the axial direction enables the gas to flow through the second valve at a second flow rate, which is much higher than the first flow rate. The controlled pressurization of the gas through the orifice delays the time during which the gas reaches full recompression.

  • Patent number: 6539970
Abstract: A method and apparatus for servicing a pressurized system is described. A purge fitting can be used to vent the pressurized system. Venting can release a gas, such as air, from the system. The pressurized system can be a climate control system (e.g., an air conditioning or refrigeration system), a brake system, a hydraulic system, or a service device for servicing a climate control system. The purge fitting allows air that may be trapped in the pressurized system to be vented by depressing a purge actuator, such as a purge button attached to the fitting. The air can be vented from an opening adjacent to the actuator or other orifice. By purging air directly from the system, the amount of air introduced into the system during servicing can be minimized. The invention also features a coupling member that can be compact in size.
