Abstract: A control system for a pneumatically or hydraulically actuated shift cylinder of a transmission or transmission-related auxiliary drive output, namely, for controlling at least one valve associated with the shift cylinder, such that each shift position of the shift cylinder can be produced. The control system includes: a) devices of a first type with which valve requirements corresponding to a plurality of functions demanded from the shift cylinder can be calculated at the same time, or in parallel, for the valve; b) devices of a second type which logically link the valve requirements calculated for the valve individually for each valve so that, from the valve requirements calculated in parallel for the respective valve, the devices of the second type determine an effective control measure for the valve concerned.

Abstract: Disclosed is a work vehicle having a hydraulic apparatus which can reliably prevent erroneous operation of the valve of the hydraulic apparatus even when the operating lever is moved inadvertently. With this hydraulic apparatus, with operations of a single operating lever in two directions, two valves are operated respectively. Two valve operating links for operating the two valves respectively are pivotally supported to a support shaft provided to a pair of frame plates and a lock pin is provided to the frame plates. The two valve operating links form pin holes. When the two valves are at the neutral positions, the lock pin is inserted into the pin holes with a locking operation of a lock operating tool, thus fixing the valve operating links and locking the valves.

Abstract: A valve gate piston assembly, in an injection molding system, is positioned in a staggered arrangement such that one piston assembly overlaps that of another valve gate piston assembly thereby minimizing an overall centerline pitch between said piston assemblies. Such a superposed layout of piston assemblies enables larger diameter pistons to occupy a smaller footprint than would be realized should the same piston assemblies be positioned side by side. The use of relatively larger diameter pistons results in an increased force available, for the same input air pressure, to actuate the pistons and valve stems attached thereto, resulting in a higher valve stem closing force. A staggered piston assembly layout also allows independent air circuits to control each piston separately. A combination of multiple piston assemblies may be configured in such a staggered, overlapping array.

In one preferred embodiment, certain valve arrangements have an actuating plate attached to their shaft with two adjustable actuating members selectively placeable thereon for selected actuation, and the lever arm is rotatably attached to the shaft adjacent the actuating plate and is further rotatable about the shaft between engagement with the two actuating members, the lever arm adjusts the valve when the lever arm is moved in engagement with an actuating member. A linking rod is pivotally attached to each lever arm of all valve arrangements, and a manually operated handle or a hydraulic cylinder is pivotably mounted to the linking assembly and is movable to simultaneously adjust actuated valve arrangements.

Abstract: A control mechanism for operating a backhoe is disclosed wherein the controls are adaptable to be configured in a selected one of a two lever system, a three lever system, or a four lever system. The control mechanism includes a first pivot axis on which the control levers are pivotally mounted and a second pivot axis on which a series of bell cranks are pivotally mounted. Various linkages interconnect the control levers with the bell cranks, and the bell cranks with hydraulic valve spools in a manner in which the valve body does not have to be reconfigured depending upon which control system is utilized. The control levers are configured with a pivot casting having a bent control rod threadably received therein, the position of which is fixed by a lock nut permitting the control handle to be positioned in the orientation desired by the operator.

Abstract: Several individually operable push buttons are provided to initiate an OFF function, defrost, air conditioning and various air directions and other functions of an automotive heating, ventilating and air conditioning system. Each push button has a carriage adapted to be fitted on one side with an optional leaf spring contactor engageable with fixed contact members. The opposite side of the carriage is fixedly fitted with a compressible silicone rubber or other resilient valve member in sealing engagement with a port plate to carry out vacuum valving functions. Each carriage is guided by a tongue-and-slot guiding arrangement, whereby sealing pressure is applied between the valve member and the port plate. Each carriage has a rearwardly projecting tongue, slidably received in a slot formed in flange structure on the port plate. The front portion of each push button is also slidably guided to maintain the sealing pressure.

  • Patent number: 4860779
Abstract: The valve control means includes valves arranged in a bank for controlling the flow of fluids in a winery, oil refinery or the like. The valves have operating arms located in one x-y plane. In a plane parallel to but spaced from the x-y plane there is provided an x-y plotter which has a projecting pin that can be moved adjacent to a valve arm and rotated by computer control to cause rotation of the valve arm between "on" and "off" positions. Where the valve is of the type which requires a linear withdrawal of the arm from its stem after rotation can be effected, the valve arm is provided with an abutment plate and one end is withdrawn by operation of the x-y plotter pin. A very close control of temperature, time or other requirement can be achieved automatically without requiring the attention of an operator.

  • Patent number: 4694861
Abstract: A random access rotary pinch valve for controlling fluid flow through a plurality of fluid conduits. The valve is adapted to receive and retain the fluid conduits and includes, for each of the conduits, a toggle mechanism comprising a piston and a toggle. The piston and toggle can be latched to pinch the associated fluid conduit to a non-conducting state or may be latched with the conduit in a fluid conducting state. An actuator arm is selectively positioned over the toggle mechanisms and is displaced so as to actuate the toggles from one state to another, thus changing the state of fluid conduction through the associated flexible conduit. In the embodiment disclosed herein, the fluid conduits are arranged about the periphery of an annular valve body and the actuator arm is pivoted by means of the stepper motor over the toggle mechanisms.
