Force of water attempting to escape rotates the valve around the offset pivot. The edge of the valve is tapered and after rotating, the valve is pushed against a matching seat to close the valve. The match of the tapered valve against the tapered seat stops or nearly stops all flow of water from the broken hydrant.

    Abstract: Provided is a pressure damper (1) including: a main body portion (2) including: a recessed portion (3) having an opening portion (10) opened in an upper end portion; and a communication port (4) opened in an inner surface of the recessed portion to communicate to an outer region; and a flexible film (5) bonded to the upper end portion to close the opening portion. The upper end portion of the main body portion includes a bank (6) provided higher than an upper surface (HS) of the main body portion and surrounding the opening portion. The flexible film is bonded to an upper surface (DS) of the bank so that a bonding surface of the main body portion bonded to the flexible film is flat to improve a bonding strength and a sealing property between the flexible film and the main body portion.
