The outlet of the pump arrangement and a first fluid region are formed in a first part of the pump arrangement, wherein the first valve lid is formed in a second integrated part of the pump arrangement, and wherein the first valve seat, the pump outlet and the pump inlet are patterned in a second surface of a third integrated part of the pump arrangement. The first fluid region is adjacent to the first valve lid, wherein a pressure in the first fluid region has a closing effect on the first safety valve.

The release film coated material layer covers the opening with the release film in contact with the adhesive-like material creating a surface attraction between the release film and the adhesive-like material. An intermediate layer of gas impervious material with an opening extending through such layer may be provided. A gas pervious filter material layer may be provided to block passage of fine particulates or liquid.

A flexible valve member (20) is mounted proximate a throat region (22) of the tube (14) wherein as water is drawn up through the tube (14) a decrease in pressure in the throat region (22) causes the valve member (20) to flex and momentarily interrupt the flow of water. The interruption to the flow of water through the tube (14) results in a momentary differential of ambient pressure underneath the flexible cleaning member (12) which enables the device (10) to move forwards incrementally along the underwater surface of the pool.

    Abstract: A thin film beam spring valve is provided for use in a squeeze pump package. The squeeze pump package includes a resilient outer bottle and an inner flexible bag with a rigid fitment. An apertured diptube is utilized to enable substantially all of the product within the bag to be dispensed. The outer bottle of the package has a substantially cylindrical finish which includes an aperture therethrough and an internally extending ledge at its lower end. The thin film beam spring is located above the ledge in a cavity created between the bottle finish and the rigid fitment of the inner bag. The central portion of the beam spring is located adjacent to the aperture of the finish such that the beam spring will seal the aperture upon exposure to a positive dispensing pressure within the bottle. The beam spring will allow air to enter the bottle upon the application of negative pressure within the bottle.

One end of each of the valve member, valve spring and spring backer are bolted to the compressor end plate. The other end of the spring backer permits the corresponding end of the valve member to slide along the end plate as the valve member moves between its open and closed positions, while restraining the end of the valve member from moving away from the end plate. A backer support, positioned between the spring backer and the head of the bolt, spreads the clamping force and defines a line about which the valve member and valve spring flex.

The gas under pressure causes the pressure responsive valve member to close the apertures and it forces the liquid out of the chamber through the discharge conduit.
