  • Patent number: 11931541
Abstract: A connector for a fluid drainage system having a body defining a drainage lumen extending longitudinally from a distal portion to a proximal portion. The body can include a piston housing and an inlet in fluid communication with a positive air pressure source. A piston is slidably engaged with the piston housing along a transverse axis between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the piston provides fluid communication between the distal portion and the proximal portion of the drainage lumen and occludes fluid communication between the inlet and the drainage lumen. The piston in the second position occludes fluid communication between the distal portion and the proximal portion of the drainage lumen and provides fluid communication between the inlet and the drainage lumen to clear dependent loops, while preventing distal fluid flow into a catheter.

Abstract: A vehicular washing device includes: a nozzle (4); a flow passage forming body (2) of which an internal space is a flow passage of a fluid; and a valve (21) that has a pressing tube part (22) with an axial direction coinciding with a flow direction of the fluid, is elastically deformable in a direction in which the diameter of the pressing tube part changes, and opens and closes the flow passage according to the state of deformation. A first flow passage (2a) and a second flow passage (2b) are formed as the flow passage on opposite sides of the pressing tube part. A shaft (9) with which the pressing tube part is capable of coming into close contact is located inside the valve. Abstract: A sealed delivery system for dispensing metered volumes of a pure or sterile flowable substance is presented. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, a hand-held sealed delivery system comprises a continuously sealing one-way valve assembly at a distal end, and a volume reducing reservoir at a proximal end. The pure or sterile flowable substance can be stored in the volume reducing reservoir. In operation, a user pushes down upon a push button driven actuator assembly, acting upon a metering pumping chamber, which is in fluid communication with the pure or sterile flowable substance stored in the volume reducing reservoir via a check valve. Abstract: A check valve (10) comprises, a flexible tube (11) having first and second end portions defining an inlet (13) and an outlet (14), respectively, and a rigid valve body (12) surrounding the flexible tube (11). The end portions of the flexible tube are sealingly fixed to the valve body (12) to define an enclosed space (17) between the exterior of the flexible tube and the interior of the valve body. A fixed volume of a substantially incompressible fluid is located in the enclosed space (17). When the pressure at the outlet (14) is greater than the pressure at the inlet (13), the flexible tube is substantially collapsed so as to close the valve or allow severely restricted flow. However when the pressure at the inlet is greater than that at the outlet, some of the fluid is displaced from the inlet area towards the outlet area so that the flexible tube (11) is expanded in the area adjacent the inlet and the tube is substantially open.

Abstract: Progressive cavity pump assemblies including one or more mechanisms adapted to regulate intake pressure of the main pump between a minimum intake pressure and a maximum intake pressure. In one embodiment, the mechanism is a sealing member configured to open at a threshold pressure to discharge wellbore fluid and close after falling below the threshold pressure. In an alternative embodiment, the mechanism may be a regulator assembly that adjusts the volume of output from the charge pump to the interconnect according to the pressure in the interconnect.

Abstract: According to the invention a drinking vessel (10) comprises a generally cylindrical container (11) adapted to contain liquid and a generally cylindrical lid (12) adapted to close the container. The lid comprises a generally cylindrical outer member (20), a generally cylindrical inner member (22) located within the outer member so as to define a generally cylindrical aperture (50) between the outer surface of the inner member and the inner surface of the outer member, and a generally cylindrical sealing element (21) located in the aperture. The sealing element normally forms a seal between the outer surface of the inner member and the inner surface of the outer member but is deformable by suction at the end of the aperture remote from the container so as to cause liquid within the container to flow, from the end of the aperture adjacent to the container, out through the aperture under the action of the suction.

The inventive backflow preventer consists of a closing body (3) which is embodied in the form of a hollow body which is open on a drainage side thereof and defines a passage channel (5) between itself and the central counterpart (4) opposite thereto. Said closing body (3) is displaceable by a flow medium flowing through the passage channel (5) in a flow direction (Pf 1) from a sealing contact thereof with said counter part (4) of the closing body to the open position thereof against the opposing force of elasticity and o r stability thereof. Said backflow preventer (1) is easily producible even with a small number of components and is characterised by a high flow and low pressure loss.

Abstract: An expandable injector pipe has openings and a cover sleeve preferably secured at opposed ends with offset openings. Expansion of the base pipe causes the cover sleeve to expand while keeping the openings in the cover sleeve misaligned with the openings in the base pipe. Pressure from within the base pipe flexes the resilient cover sleeve to allow fluid to exit through the cover sleeve. Upon removal of applied pressure, the cover sleeve moves back against the base pipe to cover the openings in the base pipe to prevent flow in the reverse direction.

  • Patent number: 7243682
Abstract: A one-way valve with an annular nozzle. The valve body is a truncated cone with an interior fluid manifold. The truncated cone section includes a lower retaining groove and a fluid groove. A fluid conduit connects the interior fluid manifold to the fluid groove. An elastic cylinder having an internal diameter which is smaller than the truncated cone is slipped over the truncated cone. The lower portion of the elastic cylinder slips into the retaining groove. The upper portion rests over the fluid groove. When fluid pressure within the interior fluid manifold exceeds the pressure outside the valve, fluid flows through the conduit and into the fluid groove. This pressure urges the upper portion of the elastic cylinder away from the truncated cone Fluid then flows out through an annular nozzle formed between the upper portion of the elastic cylinder and the upper portion of the truncated cone.
