  • Patent number: 9841127
Abstract: A flexible hose having an inner tube member made from a thermoplastic elastomeric material and an outer tube member made from a fabric like material. The inner tube member is secured to the outer tube member only at an inlet coupler and an outlet coupler. The inlet coupler is constructed to secure to a water supply provided from a conventional household water spigot. The outlet coupler incorporates a flow restrictor allowing the inner tube member to equalize in pressure with pressurized water received from the water supply. Pressurized water expands the elongated inner tube member longitudinally along a length of the inner tube member and laterally across a width of the inner tube member thereby substantially increasing the length of the hose to an expanded condition wherein the hose contracts to a substantially decreased length when there is a decrease in pressurized water.

  • Patent number: 9273456
Abstract: One embodiment of a spiral tube base 10 that has an outer covering of a geogrid material 14 or a geotextile material. The spiral tube base 10 is typically made of a hard, durable material, such as PVC pipe, so that it can be buried within the earth and can be used in a variety of areas and soil conditions. Geogrid material 14 is wrapped around the outside of the spiral tube 10. The geogrid material 14 and the spiral ribs 11 allow liquids or effluent to gather within the tube, while the geogrid openings 16 and the spiral openings 12 of the tube allow effluent to move from within the tube into the surrounding soil. One opening of the spiral tube base 10 can be covered with an inlet plate 22 that holds an intake-pipe cap 24 and provides an entrance for a pipe from a septic tank. A distal opening of a leaching tube or the distal opening in a continuous line of leaching tubes that are connected together can be covered with an end plate 30. Other embodiments are described.

  • Patent number: 9188269
Abstract: A cured in place liner system and associated connections and methods are disclosed. The cured in place pipe system forms a completely rehabilitated, stand-alone, fluid-tight flow path between upstream and downstream portions of an existing pipe system. The rehabilitated flow path is stand-alone in that the liner system does not rely on structure of the portion of the pipe system through which the liner system is installed to define the fluid-tight flow path. The flow path between upstream and downstream portions of the liner system is defined by and made fluid-tight solely by components of the rehabilitation system such as cured in place liners and couplers. The portion of the pipe system through which the rehabilitation system is installed merely provides a path (e.g., through the ground) through which the cured in place liner system can be inserted.

  • Patent number: 9145999
Abstract: A piping system employs a friction layer of windings, beads or pellets placed between insulation layers and/or on the outermost layer, that being the insulation layer if no jacket is employed or the jacket if it is employed. The windings, beads or pellets are wrapped or applied while the layer is uncured or warm so as to embed themselves into the surface and create a uneven, bumpy or undulating surface. The resulting product increases friction both internally and externally to better restrain or inhibit pipe movement in underground, marine, or subsea applications or provide restraint to the surrounding environment (earth, concrete, etc.).

  • Patent number: 9111665
Abstract: An electrically tuned composite tube comprises a tubular arrangement of a knitted reinforcement layer. Selected knitted patterns provide desired density or spacing between fibers of the reinforcement layer. A mesh element is also incorporated in the tube construction to precisely control resistivity and conductivity performance characteristics by selecting the mesh element from one or more conductive or non-conductive fibers or wires. The mesh element may include a tubular arrangement of fiber or wire provided in a knitted pattern or a woven pattern. A matrix material is applied over the knitted reinforcement layer and mesh element, and is allowed to cure for a single matrix layer. Alternatively, a first tube can be constructed with only the knitted reinforcement layer and matrix material, and the mesh element is added afterwards with another layer of matrix material applied over the exterior surface of the first tube.
