Abstract: A method and a device for bending a metal hollow thick walled member to a predetermined angle without deviation of the bending center position and without separation from a half die when presser die moves up. With a pair of guide plates (GP1 and GP2) turnably attached to a center pin CP kept horizontal and the axis center of the center pin intersecting with the axis center of the metal hollow thick walled member PM, the member PM is mounted on a half die (82a). When die holding members (80a and 80b) fixedly connected to the above guide plates and kept horizontal are inclined and separated from each other as the center pin lowers, the member PM is bent to the predetermined angle and held on the half die (82b). When the center pin that can be moved vertically by a guide member moves down to a predetermined position, a contact portion (96b) contacts the inclined surface of a stopper (92b) to allow a base plate (16) to receive a pressing force from an upper die via the stopper.

Abstract: A method for fabricating a unitary conduit is disclosed the method comprising the steps of determining three-dimensional information of the unitary conduit having at least one flow passage, converting the three-dimensional information into a plurality of slices that each define a cross-sectional layer of the unitary conduit, and successively forming each layer of the unitary conduit by fusing a metallic powder using laser energy. A unitary conduit is disclosed, comprising a body and a flow passage, wherein the flow passage and the body have a unitary construction, and made by using a rapid manufacturing process.

Abstract: A functional pressure hose for a water-carrying system, particularly for connecting movable sanitary fittings or for connecting parts of the water-carrying system with one another, has an inner hose made of plastic and an outer jacket made of a braided material. At least one hose end is provided with a connector piece having a tubular connector, onto which the hose end is pressed. The inner hose is formed by a corrugated hose, and the tubular connector has circumferential ring beads that are adapted to the inner contour of the corrugated hose. At least some of the ring beads are provided with notches that run axially. The hose demonstrates great flexibility while maintaining the required pressure strength, but at the same time guarantees great bending protection.

Abstract: The invention relates to corrugated pipe hose assemblies which are not provided with fixtures and which are used to transport preferably gaseous media in high-pressure applications, wherein a mount (3) is provided in order to receive an open end of the corrugated pipe (6) of the corrugated pipe assembly (2) and which is pressed therewith in order to form a metallic seal. The seal is obtained by means of a sealing bushing (25) between the inner wall (18) of one part (16) of the mount and the ribs (8) of the corrugated pipe (6). Another part (17) of the mount (3) firmly holds a section (27) of the covering (11) of the corrugated pipe hose assembly (2) in an axial direction and also with respect to tilting movements such that pivoting movements of the corrugated pipe hose assembly (2) do not result in a relative movement between the corrugated pipe (6) and the mount (3), especially with regard to one part (16).

Abstract: An offshore composite enhanced metallic drilling riser is equipped to enable preloading of the composite shell and the metallic riser. A riser has steel end connectors and a continuous metallic inner liner, encased in a composite shell. A segmented hyperboloid shaped profile is located near each of the end fittings for preloading of the composite and the metallic riser. In one version, both halves of the hyperboloid shape are capable of axial movement by adjusting jack bolts connected to one of the hyperboloid halves. One of the halves is limited in axial movement while the other half moves axially away from the restricted half, the movement simultaneously generates the composite pre-load and the metallic riser pre-load. The other version uses fluid pressure between mating faces of the segments to push them apart.
