  • Patent number: 5829483
Abstract: A hose includes an outer hose member, and an inner hose member. The outer hose member includes a first bellows-like tubular portion at least in the intermediate area in the axial direction. The inner hose member is disposed substantially coaxially in the outer hose member, includes a second bellows-like tubular portions in the area corresponding to the first bellows-like tubular portion of the outer hose member, and adapted to form a tubular air layer between the second bellows-like tubular portion and the first bellows-like tubular portion. Because of the outer hose member and the inner hose member, the hose exhibits a high flexibility, a reliable barrier ability against gasoline fuels or the like, and an improved adiabatic ability and anti-flammability for the inner hose member.

  • Patent number: 5827370
Abstract: An apparatus for preventing the deposition and build-up of chains of polymerized TEOS molecules in the pipes downstream from a reaction furnace in a semiconductor manufacturing process includes an annular nozzle assembly positioned inside the pipes such that a plenum is formed between the annular nozzle assembly and the pipes and such that the annular nozzle forms a hollow tubular conduit for conducting effluent from the reaction furnace. The annular nozzle assembly preferably includes three hollow and generally cylindrical sections, an upstream collar, a downstream spacer ring, and a middle section(s) positioned between the upstream collar and the downstream spacer ring. The annular nozzle assembly is placed within the pipes downstream of the reaction furnace during operation and is modularly constructed so that the length of the annular nozzle assembly can be varied, depending on the length of the downstream pipes from the reaction furnace.

  • Patent number: 5762108
Abstract: A hose has an inner wall 1 of blow moulded tube and an outer wall 2 of continuous, spirally formed, corrugated tube. At each end of the hose, the inner wall extends further than the outer wall. The walls are separated by a rigid spacer 3 inserted into the end of the outer tube. The walls are united to a moulded connection member 4. This arrangement has a relatively long spigot 5 which extends from a cavity 6. The inner wall is slid onto the spigot as far as the bottom 8 of the cavity. A radially parting mould is placed around the connection member at a nose 9, within which the cavity extends. The mould has an aperture for the outer wall. On injection of material into the mould, the moulding 7 is formed in the cavity 6, along the extent of the inner wall on the spigot 5 as far as the spacer 3 and past the end 10 of this along an end portion 11 of the outer wall. The mould forms the outer diameter of the moulding to the dimension of the nose 9 and limits it from extending along the outside of the outer wall.

  • Patent number: 5722802
Abstract: A powder delivery apparatus for use in a paint supply system. The apparatus has a flexible inner hose having an innermost and outermost surface with pores extending therebetween. The innermost surface defines a channel along which powder particles may flow. Surrounding and extending coaxially with the inner hose is a flexible outer hose. The innermost surface of the flexible outer hose and the outermost surface of the inner hose define an annular path that is charged with air. The air is forced under pressure radially inwardly through the pores to the inner hose so that during powder flow, powder particles are atomized and prevented from fusing to the innermost surface of the inner hose. Thus, powder build-up and impact fusion are avoided in the inner hose. Accordingly, consistent powder flow rates and supply pressures are promoted.

  • Patent number: 5713387
Abstract: This invention relates to a conduit that is at least partially encased within a containment housing. The containment housing provides structure for containment of fluids from a leaking or totally failed conduit and for automatically shutting off the flow of fluid through the leaking conduit. More particularly, the apparatus comprises at least one conduit that is at least partially received within a containment housing. A valve is attached to the conduit so that it is in fluid flow relationship with the conduit. The valve is biased toward a closed position, but is held in the open position by a block located within the containment chamber defined by the space between the exterior of the conduit and the interior of the containment housing. When a predetermined fluid leaks from the conduit into the containment chamber the fluid structurally alters the block and the valve moves to the closed position blocking the flow of fluid through the conduit.

The infusion section includes an outer tube and an inner tube concentric with the outer tube, each tube having a multiplicity of ports therethrough. The inner tube delimits a central, fluid delivery lumen. The inner tube is uniformly spaced apart from the outer tube to provide an annular passageway, the radial depth of the passageway being sufficient to permit fluid flow therewithin. Each of the ports through the outer tube provides fluid communication between the annular passageway and the exterior of the catheter, while each of the ports through the inner tube provides fluid communication between the central lumen and the annular passageway. Thus, therapeutic fluid can flow from the central lumen through the annular passageway to the catheter exterior.

Abstract: A process to install an interlocking union for joining a first double containment pipe having a first carrier pipe within a first containment pipe to a second double containment pipe having a second carrier pipe within a second containment pipe. The process includes slipping a first locking ring into position over the outside diameter of the first carrier pipe to stop against the first containment pipe. A carrier coupling is adhesively bonded to the first carrier pipe stopping against the first locking ring. Thereafter, a second locking ring is slipped into position over the second carrier pipe stopping against the second containment pipe. The carrier coupling is adhesively bonded to the second carrier pipe stopping against the second locking ring. Finally, a containment coupling is bonded to the first containment pipe and to the second containment pipe.

Abstract: A composite pipe suitable for advanced gas distribution is formed of a first elastomeric resin impregnated outer felt tube reinforced longitudinally, and a second inner felt tube impregnated with an uncured resin which is more rigid than the elastomeric resin and coated on at least the inside surface with a styrene resistant gas impermeable layer and reinforced in the longitudinal and radial directions. The inner tube has a nominal outside diameter greater than the nominal inside diameter of the outer tube. After installation the inner tube is pressurized to expand the outer tube and the uncured resin is cured activating the heat sensitive to bond the two tubes together and cure the pipe with the outer tube in the expanded condition.

The vent pipe also comprises a second tubular wall slidably disposed in a concentric relationship with the first tubular wall. The second tubular wall is helically corrugated to form radially innermost ridges which spiral around the inside of the second tubular wall and corresponding second recesses spiral between the innermost ridges. The radially innermost ridges are oriented in a direction oblique to the orientation of the radially outermost ridges such that a space between the first wall and the second wall will be maintained within the first recesses and the second recesses regardless of any bending of the vent pipe.
