  • Patent number: 8245733
Abstract: A clip (6) of molded plastics material for fitting on a pipe or duct in particular a blow-molded automotive fluid duct, comprises an open ring of generally C-shape having facing arms (20) that are curved and with open ends that can be sprung apart and together again to resiliently fit the clip on the pipe or duct. The facing arms (20) have profiled inner surfaces that engage with complementary profiles carried by the pipe or duct, namely the facing arms (20) have a substantially T-shaped profile (23/24), that fits between pairs of complementary spaced-apart arcuate ribs and recess carried by the pipe or duct. The clip (6) is easy to fit and remove while providing firm holding power and good pull-out strength.

  • Patent number: 8245734
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a one-piece axle tube housing with localized sections of increased wall thickness includes providing a tube blank, inserting a mandrel having a reduced diameter profile, passing the tube through an extrusion die to conform the tube to the shape of the mandrel; and extraction of the mandrel from the tube to cause outward deformation of the tube at specific locations. A further reducing step may be used to form the final desired profile, including reduced inner and outer diameters along sections of the axle tube housing.

  • Patent number: 8201583
Abstract: The invention relates to a support for the building industry, comprising a pipe (10), which has an axial profile in at least one end section, which is accessible from the outside when in use. The outside and/or inside diameters and/or the wall thickness in at least one end region of the pipe are enlarged compared to the remainder of the pipe (10). During production of a pipe or support in the building industry, the outside and/or inside diameters and/or the wall thickness is increased in that at least one end section, which is assessable from the outside when in use, compared to the remainder of the pipe and the pipe has an axial profile.

  • Patent number: 7992593
Abstract: An electrically conductive confined space ventilation conduit formed of a substantially rigid non-metallic conductive material, such as plastic, and a related process for ventilating an enclosure accessed by a manhole or other port. In one embodiment, the conduit has a pair of outer cylindrical sections and a central section having a cross-sectional shape of a crescent or a segment of a circle where it passes through a port to provide a minimum of obstruction for men and equipment passing through the port. Intermediate sections of varying cross-section connect the central section to the cylindrical outer sections so that the outer sections are offset from the axis of the manhole. The central section is preferably configured to obstruct no more than about 10 percent of a standard manhole opening, while causing either no air flow rate reduction, or a reduction of no more than about 10 percent as compared to the flow rate through a cylindrical conduit similar to said outer sections.
