Abstract: A flexible pipe includes an elastic pipe body in corrugated form and including alternate large and small radius portions. A ring is mounted within one of the large diameter portions of the interior of the pipe body. An elongated flexible and deformable shaping member is secured to the ring and extends throughout the interior length of the tube body.
Abstract: A fibrous pen for recording instruments and the like comprises an ink supply container, at least one writing tube extending therefrom and a fibrous or lamella writing nib extending through the writing tube and from the free end thereof. The writing tube comprises an outer plastic tube and an inner deformable metallic tube. The deformable metallic tube permits the writing tube to be permanently bent to precisely position the end of the writing nib at a predetermined location.
Abstract: Method and means of rapidly repairing damaged portions of conduits and pipes which are difficult or impossible to weld, whereby in the vicinity of the pipes to be maintained prepared replacement pipe sections are stored each together with two associated quick-action unions which comprise an annular coupling body bridging the pipe ends to be joined and having at least one threaded portion and a sealing insert which may be compressed by means of plugs adapted to be screwed into the threaded portion, and after cutting out a portion of the pipe which includes the damaged area and the length of which corresponds substantially to the length of the prepared replacement pipe section the latter is inserted into the pipe line and sealed by rightening and quick-action.
Abstract: A method for providing a flange for an inner lining of a lined pipe including the steps of cutting the lined pipe such that the inner lining projects a predetermined distance out of an outer pipe of the lined pipe, heating the inner lining which projects out of the lined pipe until an outer surface of the inner lining melts and simultaneously heating the inside of a flange ring until it melts and placing the heated flange ring on the heated inner lining whereby a permanent bond is formed between the inner lining and the flange ring.
Abstract: An improved composite construction and method for fabrication of equipment having a corrosion resistant liner and an additional erosion resistant liner, in critical areas, on a base metal backing.
Abstract: The flexible wire guide assembly of the torch is located between the torch body and the nozzle assembly and includes at least two layers of helically wound multi-strand conductor circumferentially arranged in concentric relation to form an annular passageway for a moving electrode. The layers are contained within an inner and outer extension spring which cooperate during the application of a bending force to restrain the layers from bulging inwardly or outwardly respectively. The outer spring is held in lateral compression with its turns spaced a predetermined distance apart.
