  • Patent number: 9457596
Abstract: A sheet feeder including a sheet roll constituted of one long continuous sheet wound around a core, a sheet conveyance unit to convey the sheet fed from the sheet roll and including an extreme upstream member that contacts an upper surface of the sheet fed from the sheet roll at an extreme upstream side in a direction of conveyance of the sheet, and a trailing end detector rotatable by contacting the sheet extended between the core of the sheet roll and the extreme upstream member. The trailing end detector detects a trailing end of the sheet roll upon being rotated upward to a position above a line connecting the extreme upstream member and a lowest part of the core of the sheet roll having a minimum diameter usable in the sheet feeder.

  • Patent number: 9022780
Abstract: An apparatus includes a gas burner assembly which includes a gas burner and a gas supply conduit. The gas burner includes a gas supply opening and a substantially cylindrical socket formed on the exterior of the gas burner around the gas supply opening. The gas supply conduit includes an opening at an end and a substantially tubular adjoining section proximate to the opening. The adjoining section is configured to mate with the socket and includes a substantially radial protrusion. The socket includes a substantially radial depression for receiving the protrusion. As the gas supply conduit is connected with the gas burner to establish fluid communication at the gas supply opening, the protrusion is engaged in the depression thereby aligning the adjoining section in a predetermined manner about the socket and restricting rotational movement of the adjoining section about the socket.

  • Patent number: 6776319
Abstract: A tension device is utilized for equalizing, or at least reducing differentials in tension across strands in a web. The device utilizes an overfeed roll which rotates faster than the speed of feeding the web. Strands at the desired tension, or less, slip about the exterior surface of the overfeed roll. Strands which are greater than the desired tension have sufficient friction to be rotated, at least temporarily, by the overfeed roll to thereby create slack in the higher tension strands to equalize the tension relative to the other strands. Feedback from feed rolls, support rolls, and/or the overfeed roll may be utilized to adjust the speed of the overfeed roll.

  • Patent number: 6725884
Abstract: A yarn tightening element for a weaving machine, comprising a passage (16) for a yarn (15) and a contact means (2) to transmit a tightening force to a yarn (15) moving along through this passage, the passage (16) being not bordered on at least one side of the plane of movement of the yarn (15) or comprises a boundary (14) that is interrupted across its width, so that a part of the yarn (15) running through from that side of the plane of movement, via the interruption (17), can be made to co-operate with the contact means (2). Said boundary is, for instance, formed by one or more fingers (14) directed downwards, while said interruption (17) of this boundary (14) is formed between the extremities of each finger (14) and a part (8) of the yarn tightening element. Such a yarn tightening element can be placed on a yarn very easily and quickly by means of a hooking on movement and be removed again by means of an equally simple hooking off movement.

  • Publication number: 20020036023
Abstract: A mechanism to automatically control tension of supplemental yarns added to a weaving or knitting machine has a pivotal control arm, one end of which is influenced by the tension of the yarn being controlled, while a counteracting force is applied to another end of the arm. The movement of the arm is used to modulate and adjust a braking device acting against the yarn holding spool to keep the tension of the yarn substantially uniform over time as the diameter of the yarn wound on the storage spool changes.

  • Patent number: 6070619
Abstract: A method of controlling the easing motion (1) of a loom executes a position control operation and a tension control operation successively in one weaving cycle of the loom. The position of an easing roller (6) included in the easing motion (1) is measured in a position control period, a correction is determined according to the deviation of the measured position of the easing roller (6) from a desired roller position, and a controlled variable is corrected by using the correction to make the actual position of the easing roller (6) approach the desired roller position.

  • Patent number: 4974639
Abstract: A warp yarn tensioning device for a loom, in which the warp yarns are wound about a compensator roller through an arc of approximately 180.degree.. The roller is movable against the action of counteracting springs either by rotation or by translation in the direction of the thus wound substantially parallel warp yarns and is supported about an axis by bearings. The device operates in feeding the shed with yarns from the warp beam and in maintaining a constant yarn tension during loom operation. This is accomplished by supporting the compensator roll to undergo only a small amount of swing or translational movement in order to follow the warp yarn tension variations.

  • Patent number: 4934413
Abstract: In a looming system or method, warp yarns are mounted on a loom by the following four steps. At a first step, warp yarns of a full warp beam are drawn through a warp holding unit including a warp dropper unit, a heald unit and a reed. Then, at a second step, the full warp beam is mounted on the loom. At a third step, a warp tension is sensed between the warp beam and the warp holding unit. At a fourth step, the warp holding unit is moved toward the loom and mounted in the loom while rotating the warp beam so as to reduce a deviation of the sensed warp tension from a predetermined standard.

  • Patent number: 4619294
Abstract: Motor-driven let-off and take-up motions in a loom are controlled by controlling the rotation of a motor for driving warp yarns with a tension control system operating in response to a signal indicative of a target tension and a feedback input signal indicative of an actual tension of the object during a normal operation of the loom, and controlling the rotation of the motor with a feedforward control system during a transient operation of the loom, the feedforward control system storing operation patterns of directions, and speeds of rotation and angular displacement of the motor for respective operation modes and weaving conditions of the loom. At the time of the transient operation, and operating condition of the loom is detected, an appropriate operation pattern is read from the feedforward control system based on the detected operation mode, and the read operation pattern is applied as a control signal to a drive control system for the motor.

  • Patent number: 4564050
Abstract: A method for starting the operation of a loom always under a constant warp tension after the completion of the amendment of faults in the woven fabric such as miss-pick. A warp beam in the stationary loom is rotated by a commmand signal from a control unit in the normal or reverse direction so that the preset tension can be attained. As a result, a weaving bar which often occurs in the prior art just after the loom has restarted due to disturbance of gear ratio of the speed changer during the transient state can be avoided.
